Wow. Thank you, community! I made the filter for myself. You guys are so pleasant to be around. This forum post has no posts after that one? Whatever.

... Are you new to the internet? Here, this will help:

is there any way to delete the chunks PERMANENTLY? whenever i delete the chunks, they reload (or is that the point? <_<)

You can change the generator to be flat and air only (2;0;1;). Have you tried this? New chunks will be air. NBTEdit if it's a single player world, or set the server.properties if it's a server.

you know, this really needs to be updated more often.
Very useful for just about anything Minecraft related. It would also be nice if it were smoother, I find the workings rather difficult, and getting it to do what I want can be a nightmare, so with larger builds, it ends up being easier just to use creative, and add anything you can't do in the game with mcedit. It would be nice not to have to do that.

Keep at it. It gets easier. Also look at tutorials on Youtube for usage tips.

Have you tried filters? Lots of tools are available in MCEdit and then there are custom filters that do interesting things that you would be challenged to achieve quickly in creative mode.

    Good luck.

Whenever I click mcedit.exe I get this quick dialog box that instantly disappears after like a millisecond. I've managed to open it up enough snagging each word and it basically says:
LoadLibrary failedThe specified module could not be found
    C:\Users\Trey\AppData\Local\Temp\7z031DF.tmp\PYTHON27.DLL

    Version of MCEdit: 0.1.7.1
Operating System: Windows 8, (Desktop) 32-bit
Version of Minecraft: 1.6.2 no mods

I have had this issue for over 2 months but still no-one has helped me.
I even posted it on github https://github.com/mcedit/mcedit/issues/406

Looks like you are running mcedit from within the zip file to me. You should extract the entire archive to a directory you have permissions to and run it from the expanded files instead.

Odd no one told you this earlier. Good luck.

Just scanned this with several anti virus programs and found TROJ_GEN.F47V1019. What have you got to say for yourself?

Are you sure your system isn't infected and caused this?

small Request : A filter that makes schematics randomly spawn through-out the world , and a sort of biome creator . If that isn't too hard for any coders out there.

For the first one, take a look at Block Schematic Swapper.

Combined with Sprinkle and Drape you can do things like this:

I'm also a little confused by filter file types. What is the difference between a .PY, a .PYO, and a .PYC?

.PY is the source file - human readable

.PYC is a variant of the computer compiled code

.PYO is the optimised file - computer compiled

    Here - found this: http://docs.python.org/release/1.5.1p1/tut/node43.html

In case it's helpful, here is an MCEdit filter for editing world interactively (i.e. when the filter is run) using the API. I've tested it against the Raspberry Juice Bukkit API today without issue. Thanks a lot for the Bukkit API.

Why does updating break all my recently downloaded filters? ,:/

Because the path to the filters directory changes with the version of MCEdit. It's a fair question - the MCSchematics directory location is configurable, why not filters?

I suspect it is but we don't know how. Anyone?

Question, do you guys know of any filter that uses perlin noise to bend flat terrain?

I've been messing around with different configurations of eroded sand in thin distinct layers and I'm in need of some sort of heightmap filter so that the terrain flows naturally rather than, well, being flat :P

It would also help me "melt" bridges and other structures in a post apocalyptic lava region '^^

Jsa wrote a Perlin noise generator:

I have "Drape" for melting structures in your selection box.

I've been unzipping it from the folder though I get this error with it, but through tinkering I have found that it does not do this when I place it into My Documents. Also through searching I cannot find any answer as to why it is doing this or how I can change the permissions, as well as in the advanced setting it is set to have full permissions to read and write new files where ever it is located. I am completely confused at this situation.

Your account has full permissions to My Documents. MCEdit is running as your account.

I am currently having an issue with MCEdit and I had posted into the Git Hub error reporting page, but people do not seem to respond at all. Here is the post and I will also explain the issue here for people if anyone can answer. I had to do a good old factory reset and now when I try to run MCEdit it flashes a Command Prompt window for a VERY brief moment in time and then doesn't even load it up. Here is the window I was able to get a screen shot of:

If anyone can help that would be wonderful!

Mcedit wants to create directories and files, and is encountering a permission problem.

I have seen this when you don't unzip the files to run uncompressed and instead run the program by browsing into the zip.

Otherwise, fix your permission to allow MCEdit to do its job. This isn't a github code related problem, it's about how you configure your workstation.

I'm croudsourcing this one. Could any of you guys point out the fatal flaw?

    Thanks in advance, and Adieu,

It's a missing comma on the 'oboro' line - should be at the end of the line:

oboro = ["Oboro, Palace in the Clouds",

Me & Podshot are maintaining a github repo, where we create MCEdit filters. I've recently made filter called "Add Vines" check it out... Maybe it can help you ;)
    Check it out: https://github.com/P.../MCEdit-Filters

Could I place my filter code on Github too? How would I go about it?
