posted a message on HELP NEEDED! Command/Functions Creation Needs Optimising
    Quote from dscutt»

What does this project do? It kinda sounds like, if you're asking for optimization, this might turn into a rebuild. I've slowly found that over-engineering is a big problem with most projects. Things that probably have elegant solutions often get turned into chaotic messes.

It's a project that adds new blocks and items to the game. Soon, it'll add new mobs, but for now it's just blocks and items. So far it's 23 new blocks and 15 new items, 4 of which are replacing existing items. Some blocks have kind of advanced functionality, like emulating the nether reactor from MC:PE and giving items custom tags to change how they behave.

Over-engineering may be the problem, as I am not at all a command expert, hence this call. My commands are also not very organised so that adds to the possibility

posted a message on HELP NEEDED! Command/Functions Creation Needs Optimising

So for the past about 8 months, I've been working on a rather ambitious project named TTF when abbreviated. I need someone with considerably better command block knowledge than I do to look through the commands and optimize them, as currently this has trouble running on even my above-standard gaming PC.

    Thinks To Know:

-The project is currently fairly large. 35 functions, some with hundreds of commands inside them.

-There are some function files marked with an X at the end. These are functions that have been disabled due to either not working properly or adding too much to the lag.

-If you take on this project, you will of course have access to the files for play testing purposes, but you will also be credited in the public release of the project through links to any youtube channel, twitter, etc.

-I will clear up everything that is needed clearing up, just ask.

-You will be given the functions, resource pack, everything needed. You will also receive a text document with any necessary info

-You may be called again in the future to help once more.

I sincerely hope I can find someone to help with this, as I myself am too busy and not nearly qualified enough to do all this myself.

posted a message on How to Use the /execute Replacement Commands for 1.13+
    Quote from Hassan975»

So true. In 1.12.2 I was good at command blocks. Now? I can't even do /testfor.

I'll just wait for MrGarretto to make a converter. Problem is, I'm working on a command mod pack so everything's breaking in 1.13 and that's bad for the whole staff and team. No one asked for these changes, Mojang.

posted a message on How to replace blocks with new blocks which have NBT data?

How could I go about blocks around the player with other blacks that have NBT data in it? specifically, replacing barriers with commands blocks that have a command inside? Is this even possible?

If not, can someone link me to a generator or any other easy way to /testfor every block within a player's reach?

posted a message on I need a way to disable creepers from destroying blocks without using /gamerule and so that they can still damage to players

I have an idea: Have MobGriefing turned on, then if a Creeper has a fuse of 1 or 0 (whatever works), turn MobGriefing off, so it's only off for s split second while the creeper explodes. Not sure how that's work, though, so...

posted a message on Custom Armor Textures?
    Quote from Alvoria»

No, this isn't possible. The armor as seen on the player is rendered as an entity, so the item model has absolutely no effect on it. It's kind of a glaring hole in Mojang's system, but one they likely aren't going to care to fix any time soon.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Dang, alright. Thanks for the help, though! Also, by any chance, would you happen to know how to properly model a fishing rod with damage values? I've been trying for weeks and it just won't work

posted a message on Custom Armor Textures?

I am working on a mod pack using commands and a resource pack and I would like to add custom armor using durability. I know this is possible with the Items themselves but I'm wondering about when they're worn.

Basically, I want to have entirely new armor that you can wear and it has a custom texture, but I don't know how to make the item appear on your body with a custom texture.

posted a message on Does a redstone powered stone block count as a block update?

You cannot. Like I said, observers cannot detect redstone updates to mundane blocks. If a current runs into a stone block, and an observer is watching the stone block, the observer won't be updated. However, replace the stone with a dropper, dispenser, door, trapdoor, anything that has an action when it's powered by redstone, and it'll work.

Redstone components usually have a Powered: tag which the observer can detect, as it is a blockstate tag. However, stone does not have a Powered: tag so an observer cannot detect it.

A youtuber called Mumbo Jumbo has multiple videos on storage solutions. If you look around, I'm sure you can find his video where he mentions sorting systems.

posted a message on Does a redstone powered stone block count as a block update?

It's not a block update if a non-redstone-related block is hard or soft powered. However, a dropper can be either hard or soft powered and the observer would detect it.

posted a message on testfor fishing rod bob in mob

I looked at it and it looks like, like the rest of us, you are detecting the fishing bob itself.

Regardless, there's some UUID stuff you could do
