I used to run a server a while back ago. It was a survival bukkit server. This time I am back and after the game has updated many times. I started a brand new vanilla server. It will be survival. I have whitelisted it so that nobody can destroy it before it begins. Basicall I am taking applications because I want to have a small group of people to build within the world. It might remain private for a while so if you are looking for a casual place to play and build and make some friends along the way then please apply.A little about myself. I am a male of 30 years of age. Good personality and easy to get along with. I have 3 kids and consider myself a family man. Yes 30 and still plays videos games. What I am looking for : People 16 (preferably in the USA) and above who act appropriate. I don't want kiddos running around acting 12 and begging for things all the time. I want you to get along with any other players that may be on the server. If you have any problems bring them to me and I shall handle it. I want someone who wants to have fun and to build nice things. Helps with other players builds if they need help and will help with the community areas of the server.I have my own forum setup and will be given once application is approved. That way we can communicate away from the server as well.Application format is as follows:IGN:AGE:Location:Reason I should approve you:How long you have played MC:Do you stream or could you if needed:What other games do you play:Server does not have a name yet. Once a few people join we shall come up with a name and vote on it. Thank you for your time in reading this and I hope to see some applications soon!~Deli

posted a message on Adding RAM worth it?
Your GPU is the main thing that will effect your gaming performance. More just helps run more applications at once and helps to open them up as well. Also, does your mobo support that much? Prebuilts suck at not being able to add more then 8gb of ram anyways.

posted a message on What makes prebuilts so bad?
Options is my thing. They only offer X amount of cases. What if I don't like any of the cases? Motherboards. They only offer 8 of them. What if I had my heart set out on getting a MSI board..because I am a MSI fan...well they don't even offer a MSI mobo....

Some posts above me people saved 100 bucks...to a budget gamer, that could mean sli/crossfire...as opposed to just the single card. Budget builds are harder to do with prebuilds. You can get a cheaper mobo, so you can get better cpu/gpu/ram....which helps in gaming.

Think of it like this. I have a muscle car. I bought it from Johnny. It looks nice and runs good, but I bought it like that. I put no effort into it and I basically paid for what Johnny did to it. On the other hand, I bought a car and worked on it, increased my knowledge on cars, got my hands dirty, and poured sweat n tears into that car. Now that is something I could brag to my friends about.

An example. My friend bought an Alienware laptop. Thing was awesome looking. It had better specs then my current rig. Yet only scored about 900 on benchmarks more. He paid 3000 I paid 700-800. It came with some bloatware too. His laptop died last year and mine is still going strong. Then I introduced him to tigerdirect. He found a better laptop for around 800 bucks. It wasn't Alienware or Ibuypower. Matter of fact check out this link and this link. One is Asus and the other is Alienware both from the same place. Practically the same machine...but a whopping $300 difference.

Request to close topic. I already ordered my parts. Plus I didn't get much help here anyways. Plus the person who did help, doesn't seem to know what they are talking about. Sorry nerdproductions.

You could get a way better barebones for that kinda cash. Just my opinion....Check tigerdirect's barebones out...

I actually like the case, if it does touch do what ether posts above me said. All of mine are gone and there isn't anything bad about it. Might mess up the airflow a lil. Also, if possible you could always trim the backplates so they don't touch.

My current rig is half of that. I still get 50FPS during day and 90FPS at night. That is weird. I wouldn't want to game on a projector tho....

    I recommend you this

It happened the same thing to me, and that solved for me, if not, try the regular version then.

Option A worked for me. Gonna see later if option B helps increase FPS any.

I am wanting to upgrade my old custom budget gaming rig. It isn't a bad rig. I get decent FPS with most games. I just want a little bit more power. I pulled the CPU out of an OEM, so it isn't the best, but it is still a quad-core. Yet my mobo can handle some AM3 CPU's, I still get shafted with DDR2 ram....First I will list my specs.

MOBO - msi k9a2 platinum ATX
    RAM - 6GB DDR2 @ 400
    CPU - AMD 9150e Quad-Core @1800Mhz
GPU - EVGA Superclocked Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 @756Mhz or 1024Mb memory
    OS - Win 7 Ultimate
    HDD - WD 600GB
    PSU _ 450W Antec

I mostly want to upgrade my mobo, ram, and CPU. At least for the moment. I had a talk with Teckmaster earlier this morning. I let him know my budget which is around $250, but I could possibly push it to $300 if needed. He had suggested I upgrade using these:

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DfB0

It is a big jump from my old mobo, ram and cpu. I could really use a video card upgrade as well. Yet I can't seem to fit it into the budget.

Any suggestions or other parts is welcome. I am trying to find the most/best BANG! for my buck.

Tell him, if he is going to spend that much money, I will give him a lappy with the same specs and he can send me the other 999.99 :D Also laptops tend to overheat...and crash because of it. He could build a better Desktop for half the price.

posted a message on How should I go about my Feed The Beast server public?
I wouldn't mind giving a FTB server a try( If you wouldn't mind me joining it that is). I run my own Bukkit one right now. I don't rely at all on donations, though it is set up. The whitelist will be important. If you open it to the public be prepared to have many people come on and ask for a million things...not to mention griefers and what not. Many players tend to be immature as well.

The hardest thing I am going through right now is getting players to stay. Like Bostonian said, log on once and leave. Many will do this. I added my server to another list and I got a huge rush of new players, maybe 20 or so, but only 2-3 stayed and played more then 30 mins, I think maybe 2 of them still play. Mine is public though, so with a whitelist you wont have to worry so much about that. I would try to make some type of criteria to be able to get your name on the whitelist. (might not be able to do that though, just an idea).

anti grief mods I wouldn't mind, even player shops would be fine.Might even let something like faction slide.... but anything other then that would be to far off from vanilla.
