I have been using World Painter for a while now. I found that When you are editing The Dimensions option to Expand you land.
The higher the number you use the more Hard Drive Space you use. I have made a Flat World with all resourses. 20,000 x 20,000
Come to find out it was a bit too large for a 500g hard drive. Once all that land was generated, it took up about 250+ Gigs of HD space.
But It worked well. Now i'm Looking to make the same land Plan. but with a smaller Disatance. Default is 640 x 640 in world painter.
I'm going to try with 10,000 x 10,000 this time find out how much space gets used. I will be back to give Results.
I hope this helped. By : *Thermalcode
So i'm back to give you the result, Dimension of 10,000 x 10,000 works great for me. Doesn't seem to be using any space at all
For trees I used 1/4 which is about the 3rd notch on the Slide Bar. and I didn't let minecraft do any generating from the check box above those settings.
I left all the ores (default),
After I executed the world, took about 30 minutes to finish, and 15 seconds to transfer into my folder i'm using for world.
Running nice and smooth.
So anyhow, 10,000 x 10,000 would be a nice figure to create Land. Big enough to play on. and continues long enough. That it will take
A very long time for someone to find the edge. lol
And again sorry this isn't very specific. But I hope it makes sense. *Thermalcode
