Oct 21, 2010No information is at risk, this isn't a Hack it is a DDOS. They're not trying to gain information, they are denying access to information ( so we cant authourise our accounts and play online)Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
Oct 21, 2010No its not, try playing Dwarf Fortress with 100+ Dorfs..Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
Anyhoo: If you are using on-baord graphics (not a dedicated card) then that will be a factor in any game.
also: Windows Vista and Windows 7 have very poor OpenGL implementations, OpengGL games will run better on WinXP even if the machine-hardware is identical.
My WinXP AMD Athlon 2Ghz with 2Gig of RAM runs openGL apps at a higher FPS than my overclocked Win7 iCore7 3.4Ghz 6GigRam
Oct 21, 2010Le Sigh, Sometimes I ####ing hate the internet.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
1) Updates were never promised, they are gifts until the 1st proper release, you buy MC you don't subscribe.
2) With 4million euros in the bank Notch can run his company off the interest, you wont hurt him financially.
3) Notch has always been upfront as to why there have been any delays in any scheduled updates and has apologised many times - even though he really doesn't have to - the change in situation would delay any development process.
People do not respond to threats, this is just cock-waving at the expense of thousands of people's entertainment.
Oct 20, 2010Almost every single time. The game finds the nearest point ( to (0,0) or maybe its a random offset ) that is on level 64 (sea level). This obviously nearly always spawns you on a beach. I guess if there are no points low enough or there are grass blocks at L64 you will spawn somewhere inland.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
I think every single spawn i have ever had has spawned me either on a beach or on some inland sand or lake-shore.
Oct 20, 2010The default texture is noisy. You can either change your texture pack or bake cobble into smooth-stone.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
I think its fine that cobble is like that, it makes you put more effort into making something nice. Personally I've started using half-bricks, I like the colour and constructed look. It also doesn't use up fuel. In the end 1 cobble = 1 double-half-block.

Keep getting distracted in other saves, and by writing a terrain modifier (all it does is cave-in bits of map atm).
Going to turn that bare patch (natural) into an open quarry for my stone.
I also found a lucky cave system right in the middle of the main courtyard that goes down to spectacular lava-filled chamber and cave-system.
Oct 16, 2010Fantastic work Frenden! I love it.Posted in: Resource Packs
Full of unique character.
Are you going to personalise the water? Just looks a little out of place with the rest of the textures.
Thought i'd post a random pic of my world (click for bigger)
