Hmm, if you have the redist, search your PC for the *.dll and put it in the same folder as the Cartograph.exe

Hi, check the 1st post: "you need the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package".
    This will contain MSCVP100.dll.
The corona.dll cannot be read because it was in the zip file, extract all of the contents of the zip-file to a folder.

Awesome Tool ! Although, as mentioned, the normal 2D mode is flipped.

An idea for showing people's underground mines (or a lit cave-mode). If you start on the bottom slice and treat Lava, Rock and Ore as solid, only draw the pixels until you hit air, then stop drawing the column's slices above. This will show the floor of all of the lowest chambers and mine-shafts etc underground. Not sure how it would look but itd be nice to see the caves in Normal-Mode (lit and textured).

Here's my world1, 1st gen. Two bases (centres in field-of-view blobs). Im half way through creating a rail-way but as powered carts arent great im going to leave it for now.

Although now I feel a bit like a cheat cos ive noticed two natural lava-falls and some other intesting features i may never have seen. *Look at the bottom of the map, should I open-up that cave? :smile.gif:

I place a redstone torch behind a normal torch to identify the way out. Helps stop me getting lost in the labrynthine cave systems. Everytime your reach a fork or crossroads place a "way-home" torch / identifier / totem or some kind.

I think its all fine, i think my current world is a little 'dry' but then perhaps im just in a poor area, when my current cave is exhausted ill move on. I am finding a lot more ore now ive hit a region of lava-pools.

Remember that the world is 'organic' there are areas of plenty and areas of 'drought', explore.

    posted a message on Music
So, I randomly get a record off a skeleton i kill out in the open, i'm dead excited cos i thought you only got them from dungeons. I stow it and work away for a while until i can find a diamond, after several deaths in the mob infested cave system that is my second home i remember to make my jukebox.

The music that i can listen to to sooth myself after a hard/terrifying night down the mines?...

    The creepy, haunting cave music ( C418 - 13 )... cheers skeleton, thanks a bunch :smile.gif:

posted a message on powered carts- the solution
    +1 :GoldBar:

As i have just tried creating a railroad and am a little dissapointed.
I definitly think powered carts should:

    A) Have a visual indication of direction / the lever suggested above.

    :cool.gif: Be strong enought to actually go up-hill with at least 1 passenger-cart and 1 chest-cart :|

    C) Be joinable to other carts so you can actually make a functioning train. The carts already collide with each other / push each other, all that is needed is the 'sticky' part.

Oh and 88 miles an hour : :tnt: -> :Furnace:

Minecraft is as much a toy as it is a 'Game', just do what you like.
You can mine, explore, fight monsters, farm, roleplay, stripmine a 100x100 area to the bedrock or build a tower made of glass.. its up to you. As everyone else has said, there is no right or wrong way to play. Even if you mess up its all good fun. Rebuilding and improving can be as good as building in the 1st place.

The grid designs are 'efficient' on water but you'll trample all your 'ploughed' squares while harvesting and have to hoe them again.
