posted a message on Autojump? Good or bad?

One word: Accessibility. Is that kind of feature designed to help people with disabilities to play the game more easily (or to diminish the pain in use some devices that are not as suitable as a PC for gaming) - its not to like or dislike. Its the same question if the closed captions are good or bad...

And thinking in likability (and is an Accessibility feature too) I'm waiting for a auto-walk toggle like in Bethesda open world games - that is a must in Minecraft. Man, walking 3000 blocks holding that worn out "W" key its sad when you have RSI. The good thing in the 1.10 is that you can control the elytra using only the mouse - less painful than walk, waaaay faster and you can put your W to rest for a while.

When did they put a cooldown time in the weapons? Last time I checked, weapons simply made your hits stronger (diamond>iron>stone>wood>your fist). There's no special timing to using them.

1.9 is the Combat Update xP - the cooldown was one of the first things they put in.
Rodabon above make it even more clear comparing the new with the old system. But now some weapons have not only a damage modifier counting in the swing cd, but the special move. I guess only the sword (slash) and ax (shield break) have for now - but probably i'm outdated. And it do not prevent spam-clicking - you can click at will at cost of considerable (basic reducing your enchanted diamond sword to a punch level) damage output.

posted a message on Do you think pvp will die in 1.9?

Well, someone will die in PvP in 1.9... but PvP die at all just because some changes that servers can disable using two or three simple command lines? What a childish thought...

posted a message on Why most are hating 1.9?
    Quote from teesee»

The title of this thread should me "Why are a select group of people hating 1.9?"

It is not "most" people on this forum. So far, it seems like 90% of the people on this thread are on board with 1.9. If not, they don't like it, but they do not "hate" it.

The biggest problem about 1.9 is that people are suppose to be Testing as this point, not treating like its the final product. Every snapshot they change all the values again and re-balance. And people treat every single snapshot as the "1.9 Update"... And treat bugs they experiment as "new features" (is almost a bug report thread)... People who hate have their world corrupt and experiment bugs and strange glitches and things should not play with snapshots at all.

The funniest thing is when the update came out most complainers will update too and diverge all the hate for the 1.10 (and probably some random posts about why not 2.0 again and again and again), and finally, the "Why 1.10 update will kill Minecraft" - followed by bug reports in the forums... xP

    Its an endless cycle...

posted a message on Why most are hating 1.9?

That's how I see haters topics: in PC only, Minecraft sold 20,867,388 copies. Right now, perhaps 5k people are discussing something in this forum (is less than 1 day of sales, since Minecraft sell about 6k copies per hour day aprox.) - mostly in modded section, only a few (not even 1k) in vanilla.

So, haters are a fraction of a little fraction inside a fraction of actual players, and mostly not even play the game anymore, are only old and nostalgic - and bored - people with time in their hands. I passed through lots of updates and they prove - to me, at least - to be refreshing. New mechanics and farms, new possibilities, new areas, but nothing that remove the old feel that you are playing Minecraft, not a whole new game.

Changes are necessary (they are slow to add simple things in the game - like slabs/stair for all blocks and more light sources -, I admit) - and if you don't like it you have the option to play alpha forever (and not only be nostalgic about the "old times"). When this update finally arrives the haters will start to hate the 1.10 update like it always happens...

On what are you basing all of these assumptions on?

You can actually see how many people are in each "channel" here in the forums (and its quite stable how many people you see browsing each one of them - at least for the 2 years, 1 month, and 10 days I came here regularly - the modded section increase a bit); if you're talking about how many copies Minecraft sold and sell for day (its day, not hour - I'll correct) is here. And the rest is just bad math, because the "haters" compared to "players" are insignificant (at least in a probabilistic point of view).

posted a message on Minecraft 1.8x slow AI knockback
    Quote from ccar795»
Have you noticed in 1.8x that passive, neutral and hostile mobs have slow knockback when you hit them? Almost like their jumping on the moon lol. Here is a good example = Go to 4:00. I've seen this issue been reported to bugs.mojang.com but they always get set as "resolved" when clearly it's still a big issue. I hoping mojang will fix this someday.

Not only the knockback in slow motion , but the IA in hostile mobs are kinda messed up. They need a moment to recover after you hit... and this is not only annoying but makes survival a lot less (if it is possible) challenging. If its intended was a very bad idea!

posted a message on Enderman no longer attacking endermites
If your are close enderman will focus the player, not the endermite - and they care only for endermites spawned from ender pearls, not from spawn eggs.

    posted a message on 1.8.3
    Quote from kwerti»
If that's all they did, why not keep the version 1.8.2? Or 1.8.2_01?

Because, when its a serious bug, they need to release to all community, not a "silent" snapshot update.
