So then, most threads the head under the 'fun' section are useless. But they're meant to be fun, that's it. Don't expect to find depth in a comic book, that sort of thing.

Minecraft also has quite a loyal fanbase. Besides, Minecraft was build with creativity as a top-priority. As we all know, Notch was inspired the the players of Infiniminer who, instead of cashing in in their ores, build cool things out of them. Combat, exploration, and the like are just cool bonus features that were expanded upon.

You know that, no?
While some of these, such as the Nerd and the Admin's Pet seem a bit harmless, in my expierience, anyways. Most 'nerds' are amusing, anddon't hack. Most 'pets' aren't suck ups-- they're just helpful.

Try PMC. It's easier to be noticed there, though the community is generally immature.

Indeed. Some players, myself included, don't even bother to try and kill the dragon.

A pure vanilla server is a bit of an idealistic dream.

I don't understand that .. Most of the game is played outside, unless you enioy your castles a little too much.

Thanks Tyler!

Rotten flesh as armor .. sounds absolutely disgusting.

In fact, that's the reason Mojang gives out snapshots as a .jar file, instead of offering an option from the launcher.

My name is _DioM_, and I've been playing Minecraft for over a year now. I'm an unpublished poet, and my favorite book would likely be The Candlestone, by Bryan Davis. I'm a Trekkie, I can't draw to save my life. I dislike Terraria, and I do possess a good deal of wit. I'm a Christian, too.
Since last May, I've been working as a moderator (an 'Enforcer') on a survival server, with the name of New Freedonia. Although a great learning experience, I've been a bit put out, as aforementioned server has been quite chaotic as of late. Many staff members have seemingly abandoned the place, grief is rampant. And I don't have the right permissions to fix most of our problems.
So, my crew and I have been planning for the past few weeks, to create another, more planned server. Such has been my goal: to create a positive community, with the name of Kiri. A place where the artisan builder can enjoy refuge from uninspired faction and pvp servers that fill lists. A place where all are respected, a place where friendliness is common, and unconditional kindness is the norm. Profanity shall be blocked before it enters chat, administration shall be mature, and slow to judgment. We shall follow the general path set before us, by other servers such as Mithrinthia, and the VoxelBox. However, we shall of course be unique. As a writer, I find conformity and unoriginality intolerable.
My staff and I plan to build Kiri in phases. The first phase, possibly the longest, shall be our Alpha phase. A world shall be created, fairly empty, with a few in-world moderators to keep the peace and answer any questions players may have. This world's purpose shall be a place for early members, Freedonians, and anyone not of the Administration.
The second phase, our main world's spawnpoint, shall be build in tandem. Architects, staff members and terraformers shall create a great sky-port, also with the name of Kiri. This shall take a few months, as the spawnpoint is arguably one of the most important structures to a server. One this has finished, our Beta stage will commence; the world shall be open to all visitors.
The third phase shall be our reaching out into the land. The world will be explored, masterful towns, citadels, and dwarven cities shall be built by Architects, the Administration, and willing players. We plan to have about seven of these great places, to start out.
The fourth phase shall be mostly silent, build-wise. Players will be facilitated, we shall see what they have to tell us. Their thoughts shall mold the place. Regular events can be suggested, classes shall be taught. Does one want to know how to plan while creating their town? Or even their house? Maybe budding pyrotechnics feel the need to create huge firework displays? Perhaps those new to the joys of complex circuitry would like to learn?
The fifth stage shall be a monumental rail system, reaching out into the greatest communities and builds. It shall provide both a stunning view, and an easy way to learn about the world's layout.
After this, Kiri shall be a living testament to ability, teamwork, and sheer dedication.
Unfortunately, I am unable to host such a world by myself. While I have enough money to rent a medium-power server for quite a while, I'm unable (for complicated, personal reasons) to create a PayPal account. For this, I come before the hosts themselves, and ask if they may be willing to sponsor us. We could benefit your business with great popularity, and your logo (or name) would be watermarked around, on our banners. Broadcasts would be put out every half an hour, informing the players of our host. You'd be given a great spot in every one of our listings, from Planet Minecraft to minecraft-server-list.com. A friend of mine shall manage donations, and you'll receive 50% of everything given.
For hardware, I'd be most gracious to receive about one gigabyte of RAM, and about five gigabytes of HDD space. Also, I'd like full access to server files, in order to better run the place.
I hope we'll be able to work something out!
