Well then. I needed not read further than "Emerald Tools and Armor and I thought "That would be so cool if it was real!!!!"" But I continued reading anyway, to discover the horrible imbalance of this... Good god the imbalance.

Also, the fact that it has a texture already means nothing... If they chose, they could make 100 armour types in a day by copy pasting code, hue changing armour and a gem, then changing a few stats. Never use: "Well, they could do it easily" as an excuse for something like this.

    Quote from BlueStriderX»

I was thinking minecraft needed some more cool features in 1.9Needed? You talk about 1.9 in the past tense..., so here are some suggestions

-More weapons (Maces, knives, battleaxes, ect.)Okay, what damage do they do, what is their durability, what can they be made from, what is their special attribute, what is the enchantibility of them, how are they crafted, and what does it look like.

-Customizable armor (Adding custom decorations to armor like you can banners. Like custom emblems to identify yourself.) This is called a wonderful thing called a a changeable skin! Or on armour, it can be dyed!

-Colorable armor (Some way to dye armor.) Already implemented.

-Tables and chairs (Everyone wants itReally? I don't. Speaking for everyone will not make people look at this favourably., so just do it. Say everyone wanted nukes that destroyed everything, does that make it a good idea?

Some way to have a proper meal so you don't have to carry pork chops in your pockets all the time. Imagine how that would look in real life! Why does it matter how it would look in real life? Steve is known to carry around 535783680 kg with him(1178724096 lbs) You would look like an idiot!)

-Backpacks (Some way to hold more stuff.) Mainly for reasons of being OP, as players could carry way more, which is completely uneeded.

-Bandits (Villagers wearing bandanas or something that would take a random item from you inventoryOh noes there goes my OP sword and now I have nothing to fight with so I can't get it back! every time they got close enough. If killed, you would get your stolen items back and some gold nuggets.)

-Hiring villagers? (The ability to hire a villager to do a certain task for you. Like cutting down trees or carrying items from one chest to another. You would pay them once, and then they would be like a follower.) So the player would never have to do anything ever again pretty much...

-Villager guards? (Villagers that had swords and armor so they could fight off zombies.) IRON GOLEMS!

-Bigger villages? (Bigger and cooler looking villages with walls and stuff.)Even a small village is quite profitable to find. If you want a larger village, build one.

-Tougher Enderdragon? (Some way to increase the difficulty of the fight. Like give the dragon more health or something. Pay attention to the update notes. They are working on improving the ender fight.

I know some of these ideas are far-fetched, but I think they would make minecraft a lot coolerI'm not seeing why.... So please add them!

Overall, vague, wishlist, pointless, redundant, ignorant of update notes, generally hated, and OP.

I'm sorry Rab, but I see little incentive for anyone to do this for you, as it would result in only loss on their part.

Also, looking at the vagueness of this post, it is doubtful that you would be able to properly market this to get people on there, so it would just be a money sink for them even more for no real purpose.

If you are going to request something that requires money, then give good reasoning why.

posted a message on 1.9 Rumors Solved!

First point, the new boss they were talking about was just a very large change to the enderdragon.

Second, I would like to see proof of this, and I am at a loss as to why you mention nachos.

Third, I think we all know that, though without further information I see no reason to mention it.

Dual wielding and what they are doing a fairly different. Dual wielding is carrying two tools or weapons at the same time, which would be a tad OP. It will likely only work on non tool items (Not guaranteed, but they do take balance in to account)

Also, if you are going to post things like this, please give sources and/or proof to your opinions.

Uniqueness, uniqueness, uniqueness. Make a server as unique as possible, because that's the only way it'll survive with the massive amount of servers we have right now.

I actually could not agree more with this. As a second point though, I would say specializing in one thing would make that one thing be very good, as opposed to a bunch of mediocre games. So basically focus and originality.

posted a message on How to request server builders [Basic Formatting and required information]

I have recently seen quite a few people requesting professional builders, with very little information. They just say that they are looking for professional builders, and that they will pay/won't pay. It began to bother me, because I kept having to ask for more information on those posts. Anyway, off I go with this.

    So, required info:

    • Level of builder
    • Payment amount/method
    • What they should be good at building
    • Time that they should be available
    • Tools to help build
    • Number of people needed
    • Other knowledge requirements
    • How to create a submissson
    • Version of MC you need to be running

    Level of builder:

Ranges from clueless to professional. If you are just starting a server you really do not need much, maybe when you are better known you can upgrade your builds, but when you are first starting of it is completely unnecessary to have an expensive and well built spawn for 5 people to see. Choose according to your needs, not your wants.

    Payment amount/Method

I don't feel like this is needed, as there are a great many good builders out there that work for free, again, don't pay for small servers. IF you are willing to offer payment, say on here how much your range will be, and what conditions to be paid well are. A basic format of this could be:

    $5-$10

Conditional on quality of build time and quality of build.

Seems simple, right? Well, not many people do this.

    Style of build

One of the most overlooked portions of a request. They never seem to mention what you will actually be building. Someone could be good enough at pixel art to be considered a professional builder. However, they could be completely awful at building what you want them to.

For instance, I am decent at building exaggerated medieval buildings, but I cannot build scaled real life objects to save my life.

To format this, it just takes one sentence, maybe a few pictures if available.

EG: If you apply for this position, you should be good at building modern homes.

    Time to be available

You probably want them on when you can oversee them, to make sure you are doing it correctly, as well as times when the server is actually online.

EG: If you apply for this position, you should be available at 3-5PM EST, saturdays and sundays, as that is when the server will be online.

    Tools available

Some people are very slow builders, or make things to such a scale that it could take them months to finish, unless you have tools such as worldedit, or other building plugins, or even command blocks, command blocks actually do help with building.

    EG:

    Tools available:

    Worldedit

    1.7 commands

    Essentials

    Creative Mode

    Number of people needed:

If you don't put this, then just suddenly you say that no one else is needed, someone is probably going to end up using the logic "But I build better than one of the applicants." and continue posting, which then leads to people not seeing that you no longer need anything.

    Just add the simple lines:

I will need 6 people to help build this project. I will not take any more applicants after this is full.

    3/6 people

    Other knowledge requirements:

This is usually where you list if command knowledge or redstone knowledge, and how much knowledge they should have in that field.

    How to apply:

Just give them a format to follow, this will make it easier on everyone applying, and you as well. Reading through all of them gets tedious if you have to search through all of the info to get what you need. A general one has a few things.

    IGN:

    Contact Methods:

Requirements they do not fit completely:

    Proof of ability:(Usually pictures)

    Version of MC:

Very simple, just say which version they have to be in, not a huge difference, but should be mentioned.

Example of what it should look like altogether:

    New Server: Requesting Builders

Hello, I am looking for up to 6 builders of moderate or better building ability. Currently we have 0 out of the 6 people needed.

The focus of the build we shall be making is stylistic medieval, so please, if you apply, try to focus your application and abilities to center on that. Also, if possible, a bit of basic red stone knowledge would be very beneficial.

You will have access to tools such as worldedit, warps, and kits as well as any 1.7 vanilla commands to help you build. If you have any other things you think would be helpful, please include it in the application. The server will be in 1.7.10.

If you wish to apply for this position then please note the server will be up 3-5PM EST on Saturdays and Sundays.

I will send you a private message informing you if you are accepted, that will contain the server IP.

Pay is conditional on quality of build, and time used, however it will be in the range of 3-10 american dollars, paid to you over paypal when the project is complete.

To apply, please fill out the following form:

    IGN:

    Contact Methods:

Proof of ability:(Pictures of previous builds, without any resource packs, shaders, or any other picture enhancers.)

Thank you for reading, and leave anything else I should add as a comment. Also, if this is the wrong section, I will need to know where I can ask to move it to.

    Quote from swaglord676»

Can someone here tell me how implementing this as a seperate block from normal slabs, therefore adding unnecessary inventory stuffing to those who wish to use vertically placeable slabs and normal slabs is better than just adding that ability to the existing slabs? Thanks in advance.

Also, with Mojang's many years of experience with programming, plus the fact that this is actually more than just adding this ability to normal slabs, how do you know that it would take too much time to add when compared to adding the same thing, but also adding completely new blocks for that?

The reasoning behind this is mainly the way blocks are coded, and making it need to have a fair amount of change in an existing mechanic which seems very small. If it is it's own separate block it would be easier to place, and would just need a few new models, as opposed to changing a bunch.

We are here specifically to critique said suggestions. Mojang does not read these, so this is just for the sole purpose of getting feedback. Never use this as an excuse.

posted a message on Donation Legal Stuff
    • Am I allowed to collect donations?

Yes, you are technically allowed to, if it is within the rules of the individual programs. Just make sure that you are still following the EULA.

    • What happens if someone wants a refund?

It is not technically required for you to give a refund, depending on how you ask them to submit it. Besides, it is a donation, they gave it to you to help you. They shouldn't want it back.

    • What happens if someone threatens to sue me?

I can't see any grounds upon which they could stand. They gave you a donation willingly, making pretty much any argument invalid, as it is a donation, it is not required for you to actually give them anything.

Get a few other opinions, but I can't see much wrong, as long as you follow the EULA.
