sarcasm really doesn't translate well through text, should have seen that coming, and 96 hours, whatever, that's not really that long, and i really don't think you can blame the hardware failure on them, hell, if you've never had any piece of hardware fail on you you must be the messiah.

I fixed your post. I am the antithesis of all Curse fanboys who suck their dollar-coated ****.

i resent that comment, i absolutely do not, as you say, "suck their dollar-coated ****", i merely have the intellectual capacity to forgive and move on with something as trivial as 96 hours of downtime, especially when the company handling the situation keeps me informed and has not, to my knowledge, had any prior problems. they also have made attempts to compensate to their users after the failure. this puts them in my good books, your immature and frankly overly assuming post puts you in my bad books.

you are correct in one respect, you are the anti-thesis of me, you insult a person just because they choose not to hate a company that you have an unfounded hatred of, to each their own i guess.

if your building on the fly, try taking inspiration from the landscape, get an interesting shape that works with the land and then try and vary it in aesthetics.

yeah, what a good idea, a company that has so far done nothing other than give a solid service has just had a hardware failure that put their sites down for a whole 48 hours, A WHOLE 48 HOURS. this is UNACCEPTABLE, we have NO SYMPATHY, NO MERCY, NO COMPASSION, AND NO LOYALTY.

    Quote from 975446

To a degree, I agree with the origional poster, if someone chooses to use a Hitler skin, that is their choice and nobody has the right to take that from them, but if said people are obnoxious with their choice, and chatting about the load of crap called "white supremacy" with the server chat, then that is a problem.
Then again, if there is say, a WWII pvp server, then obviously some people would need Nazi skins, and in that cotext it is more acceptable.
My whole point is it isnt the skin itself, but the context and the manner in which it is used that makes something "good" or "bad".

when the only context in question is that of discussion (or anything that has no affect on other people, apart from their emotions), there is no right/wrong or good/bad, only opinion.

posted a message on why i'm dissapointed with the 1.7 pistons
they were changed for a reason, something about it being far too easy to get around with very few materials, you'll still have the piston mod anyway, and to my knowledge it doesn't stick to players or mobs, i guess mobs would be fine, but wouldn't it sticking to the layer be hard to do and get pretty annoying.

Since there are several blocks of wool that are just different color that just means they are redundant right, just need one block of wool? Nope not really, how else would you make pixel art? Or maybe you want to use different blocks to create patterns or designs in your buildings. Cobblestone blocks and stone blocks pretty can have the same looking but are aesthetically different. I prefer the look of stone over cobble. The iron blocks (or any of the material blocks) are meant for storage not for building. If you want to build with them more power to you but don't confuse them with the other blocks because of how you use them. Having more blocks gives the player more choices about what to do. Imagine what Minecraft would be like if there were only a few blocks because they were all the same anyway? It would be pretty boring.

I think the more blocks the better. For not only decorations but it also gives the community something else to use when making their own recipes. It also gives more variety to the world. Why limit it when it's really the way you play that is limiting yourself?

you seem to forget the purpose of wool, it's a block that does nothing other than add a colour to your creation, it has next to no other uses, hence it is in different colours because if it only came in white it wouldn't really suit it's purpose now would it.

it only had 2 downloads thats what i mean

the reason you only had 2 downloads is because it had only been up half an hour.

that being said my only real complaint about the map is that it feels unnecessarily crowded at the beginning, try opening the space a bit more, and do something other than lodsaglowstone, because unless you are using a nice smooth texture pack, it looks horrid.

if you think minecraft lacks content than you are a pretentious person who deserves nothing that they get, minecraft has loads of stuff, granted more would be nice, it isn't essential at this stage, i would rather a game that works and has a fair amount of content to a game that has loads of content of which most of it is buggy and broken, they also don't whant to add anything that is unnecessary or redundant to a degree, for example, marble, it acts like stone, breaks like stone, only difference being aesthetic, so why not just get a texture pack? silver? we have iron, there would be practically no difference in a silver and iron block.

in regards to over complicating the game... that is actually a serious concern, if a game is too big and filled with stuff that you never want or need just for the sake of it being there it will feel like it isn't worth the effort, you need to keep things simple, only add what needs to be added, and then later on once everything that serves a different purpose is implemented that you can move on to aesthetics, i would rather have pistons than 3 new marble blocks any day.

just shrugging it off by saying more content =/= complexity is just plain retarded, it doesn't always mean crap or complex, but it certainly can a lot of the time, if your game is filled with too much stuff it becomes a hassle to do things, and that is bad, but if everything serves a different purpose your all good because everything has a place and is nessessary to a degree.

that being said i wouldn't mind if they started to add content more than once per patch.

you bought in beta, you most likely will have to pay for EXPANSIONS, you'll never have to pay for an update, it may not be a legal requirement apart from bug fixes, but it most certainly is frowned upon, nobody wants to pay for an update, but when it comes to expansions, yes you need to pay, why? because their expansions, there a way for the developer to continue working on a single game without it taxing their cash flow too much, seriously, if you make a game, once it's past it's peak you need to generate more flow, but you don't want to work on something else because you don't feel your current one is finished and has loads of potential, so you make an expansion, it's not going to cost as much as the game, but most of the game owners will buy it (if it is good) so it's going to be a guaranteed large income (especially if your initial game sold well), as too what the expansion is and what it's worth depends on how much time they spend on it and what it's meant to do.

    tl;dr: stop asking post-release questions pre-release
