Thats not true NPC Villages are Notch's idea. Tallgrass was also Notch's idea. Better farming no just no Do you think that notch haven't think about it before? Nether was always a bug Mojang just didn't have the time to fix it. Trapdoors have been planned for long time. And leveling will never be implented notch won't never implent a feature that over 50% of players don't like.

You are so wrong. Can't notch do anything without he been flamed about "copying" mods?

how much do you wanna bet someone brings up millenaire? because they will, and they will be wrong, yet again.

Everyone realizes this, including the OP, however as you have (as usual) chosen to ignore, there are a great deal of these modders who each get much more done than either of the guys at Mojang. Just think about the kinds of additions that have been made in the past few months (and will be made in the near future). They were almost all mods before they were features. MCRegion, companions, better lighting, wildgrass, "better farming", NPC villages, pistons, ambient occlusion, RPG stats(?), Nether in multiplayer. This is just off the top of my head; all of these were mods and functioning in a state about as stable as Mojang later implemented them or probably will implement them. Notch originally had a purist attitude about not letting mods contaminate his creativity, however it appears that the sheer volume of ideas and work put out by the mod community has surpassed anything he could apparently conceive of. This is because he is much slower than the mod community. Every mod he has or will add to the game this year will be something that has already been done. Notch and Jeb are slower than almost every individual major pro-bono mod developer, despite being millionaires, and no, they do not do bug-free work. The fact of the matter is that they move more slowly because they care less about the game than modders and have less incentive to continue doing anything besides going on vacations.

    BULL... ****.

seriously, learn what it takes to make a game at a professional standard, then comment on how much more work the modders are doing, there's more to a game than what you seem to think, the modders come up with more stuff because there is more of them, there is also a larger community behind minecraft than there used to be, i know, i was there, this means that there are MORE people, suggesting MORE ideas, thus it makes it more likely that the community will suggest something good, and mojang can't just copy past someone elses code, they need to do it themselves, thus the delay.

and the reason they started adding more things from the community is because a vast majority of the player base wanted it, better light and wild grass was being used by anyone who had ever really been on the forum and could be bother to install them, they were non-invasive changes that didn't essentially change the game but did add a little something, that's why they got implemented, you don't get far in the industry if you completely ignore your player base, and if they are asking for more community content to be added, you best start thinking about ways to possibly incorperate the content onto the game.

my last words on this topic: STOP BEING SO SELF ENTITLED, YOU HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING BETTER LATELY, AND YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IS INVOLVED IN A PROFESSIONAL PROCESS.

P.S. if you think i am some notch fan *****, your mistaken, i am just better informed than you and don't judge based on my wants, but on an objective basis.

Notch has purposely limited the team working on Minecraft proper, most of the employees have been assigned to work on scrolls or the portable version. He could expand his staff if he were so inclined or focus the staff he has more on their main property, so that really isn't a reasonable excuse.

Also most mods have less people working on them - many only one person - and they do it in their spare time for no money yet seem to get quite a bit done.

I wouldn't diminish what Mojang has created, but this apologist attitude that a lot of forum goers seem to have towards the languid and somewhat random development pace is strange to say the least.

yeah, just because you have one game, doesn't mean you should stop making other games altogether, they want to focus most of their team on scrolls, well go ahead, i'm sure it will be a great game and it's their choice, you also seem to have ignored the fact that they can't just implement everything that comes to mind, they need to only add things that will not mes too many things up, not interfere with the direction they are taking the game whether you agree with that direction or not, they need to do bug fixes, they need to organize a whole bunch of **** that doesn't actually have anything to do with the game itself, such as advertising and sales, they need to work on legal stuff, which is seriously a *****, they actually need to test things, they can't just release what they like, they need to see how other people respond, then decide if it's right, make changes and repeat, then release it. Mods have so little to worry about in comparison, they do what the creator wants, they don't need to think about what the majority wants, or what anyone else wants, they don't need to think about balance (and before you give me the "it's creative, how can it not be balanced" ******** i may remind you that a lot of people believe that inv editors make the game too easy, so they need to cater to that), they can litterally release something that only works for them, doesn't matter, because it is a mod and is optional, mojang need to ensure that there changes work on all copies of minecraft (even though some people can already barely handle the game as is) they also need to try different things, they may think they want to add something, go through development, make some prototypes, and then decide that they don't want it and scrap it.

so by saying that one guy who makes one addition to the game is better than the three people who deal with all of it... well you obviously don't understand what it takes for three people to make an ENTIRE GAME, as opposed to MODIFYING what they already have.

    fail mods are fail?

that's because stating your opinion isn't against the rules unless it is overly offensive (and by overly offensive i mean excessively vulgar), while bumping your threads is against the rules.

    fail rule reader is fail?

Explain to me how it is a bad question too?

take your own advice, as to it being a stupid question, there already a multitude of threads about the subject, and it has been confirmed numerous times over several announcements that there will be at least 1 new mob, if you can't be bothered to use the search function, do yourself a favor and don't bother posting.

Whilst you may use cruise control, you still have to steer.

    Solved thread is solved.

you completely failed to understand the point of my post, congratulations.

and i do get the analogy, however i was steering, right into the pedestrian that was j walking.

they are not a new mob, they have been around for a while, they were just never fully implemented.

You exaggerate. I doubt this "fills" the forums with useless spam.

It's just easier to link him to the discussion, or answer the question and let it be, because if you just e-rage at the guy, it keeps bumping this topic back to the top.

there is no answer because mojang hasn't given one, there is no discussion, because everyone interested in the topic starts their own thread and expects it to be the one, instead of looking for the obviously pre-existing one, also, spelling doesn't devalue a post, especially when it's only one letter, and i don't caps-lock because of rage, i caps-lock in more of a notice fashion, caps doesn't instantly mean rage, i for one never rage over the internet, because why bother.

    caps =/= rage/yelling

What makes the capslock worse is your spelling error. Bro, there's no need to go bat-**** over a few extra threads here and there.

But yeah, pricing won't be known until Microsoft announces it.

what spelling error? I can't find it...

and it's caps-lock because it's starting to get annoying to see the same exact thread but started by someone else every time I open the forums.

STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS, THERE IS NO ANSWER YET AND IT HAS ALREADY BEEN ASKED IN A MILLION DIFFERENT TREADS DEDICATED TO THE SAME QUESTION, EITHER USE THE SEARCH BUTTON OR DON'T ASK, WHEN THERE IS AN ANSWER I'M SURE YOU'LL BE TOLD.

    Quote from Toxic Muffin

    why do you care :tongue.gif:

because it fills the forum with crap that you can't do anything with, there is no answer, and there is no discussion, makes it a moot point to post it, especially since 5 seconds and the search bar would get you the same answer but faster.

Let me put this in perspective:

If this were a kitchen, then modders would be the cooks. They use the tools, ingredients and environments and a bit of their own know-how to make a nice dish. They can do a lot of things all at once.

Notch and his team are like the master chefs + the kitchen's architects/builders + the maintainers. They must also put in the correct ingredients and tools that belong in the kitchen, and must do this while holding three plates of delicious meals with chopsticks.

    I'm not crazy D:

this accurate analogy made me hungry.
