install craftscripts to worldedit if you haven't yet. it allows you to place vines, erode, and do other cool stuff that is extremely useful.

I will definitely try that, thank you very much.

I don't have problems with mcedit. If it's ever unusable I recommend using worldedit.

Actually, I do. I use TMI, SPC, WorldEdit, and MCEdit, and they worked quite well together when I started the map. About the third or forth time I used MCEdit, problems arose. Thanks for the suggestion and help, though!

So, I am a rather... "new and basic" mapmaker. I have tried making CTM maps before with a new genre, but I gave up eventually. However, I recently started up again on a new map that is turning out much better then my first few. However, MCEdit has began giving me... issues. A lot of them. The most notable is it freezing, crashing, or taking forever when loading any map. Another common one is Sethbling's Item Lore Filter acting strange. The text boxes will create infinite streams of words I write before MCEdit crashes, the letters will be in a different order then I typed them, etc. Has anyone else had these problems and/or know what I can do?

To those who question this idea: You wouldn't have to hear all those mobs in your mob farm, no pistons in circuits, no ghasts in the Nether, etc. I support because I think it would really help mapmakers as well as people with the problems listed above.

An idea I have had as a mapmaker for a while. The player cautiously comes out of a cave to see a beautiful farm, complete with crops and livestock. Feeling relieved they approach only to die a humiliating death by chickens, pigs, cows, etc. Support.

A ranged follower would probably be quite overpowered.

Then balancing would be needed. Lower it's health, slow it down, decrease it's range, etc.Everyone seems to be focusing on my idea, and that's not what the topic is about. Try to focus on what it is about, not what I think it should be about.

Is anyone listening? Obviously following iron golems is OP. And if you need followers that melee enemies, wolves are they way to go. Do we have a ranged follower? No. Snow golems? Don't follow, don't hurt enemies, few uses. And finally, don't try to say it's what I want. There are many other people out there who would like more utility mobs. You don't like it? Fine. Is it just what you want? Of course not. Just as many people that want them don't want them.

    Bats are actually neutral...

But I support. it is awesome. Also, you would be able to make zombie horses real zombies, chasing for villagers!

I wasn't aware bats were neutral as I have never had one attack me. I was under the impression they were passive... Anyway, thanks for the feedback and the support!

I didn't mean iron golems or snow golems. What I meant to say is we need golems that follow you.

posted a message on Villagers can be renamed
None of you seem to understand his idea. He wants to be able to rename villagers in SURVIVAL. That means no spawn eggs, no MCEdit. I support his idea because it's sensible. Shift clicking villagers with name tags should work, but it takes you into the trade menu instead. If that didn't happen, we could name villagers.

I'm pretty sure this is why they started adding utility mobs. All I think we need to do is be able to have a way to make golems follow you, as well as add one that fires arrows. Half support.

posted a message on Use caldrons, lava and hoppers to dispose of items
Unfortunately, item deletion is a redundant topic. However, I like this one. Especially the part about putting lava in cauldrons. Support, but be wary as this may be flagged as a redundant topic and closed.

Sadly, no support. I remember when I built an incinerator. I just throw my items into it, and when I'm ready, press a button the activates a piston which pushes it into lava. Much more exciting then instantly deleting things silently.

I think thats a great idea.

Making a new topic or my thoughts on how it should be implemented? I think both are good ideas. Trust me, I think you would do much better with a clean slate.

posted a message on Enchant Horse Armor
If they implement horse armor having durability, I can see possible enchants that increase your speed or otherwise. Anyway, what I think should happen is you can't enchant horse armor by yourself. There would be a small chance of finding enchanted horse armor in dungeons. Anyway, I'd suggest making a new topic about this. This one seems to be on the road to being locked, unfortunately. If you do, be more descriptive and share your own suggestion. The forum is to see what people would think of your clearly explained suggestion, not what they would think of something like your suggestion.
