I meant back when food wasn't stack-able and there was no hunger bar, compared to now where there is. and when pigs would still re-spawn and you didn't have to make a wheat farm and pig farm. That change, and the terrain generating change are the two changes that have ever been done that actually affect everyone. EVERY OTHER CHANGE IS OPTIONAL TO USE. If horses make the game easier, don't use them, if beds ruin minecraft don't craft them. If armor is to op because of durability or because of damage it absorbs, use gold or leather. enchanting adds to the op, don't enchant. all of these complaints are optional things.
People complaining about horses because you want other aspects of minecraft to be refined first, that makes sense. But hey, if this is a Mob update maybe they will be fixing bugs that pertain to mobs, and refine them to a point that they good.
And for people complaining about horses because the Mod API would be a much better update, I agree the mod API is going to be great, whenever it comes around... but until then I will play minecraft how I want, because its an open sandbox of anything I can Imagine

Apr 7, 2013Zoofule posted a message on Minecraft Surpasses 10 Million Sales, 1.6 Feature Spoiler AlertI think horses are going to be a great addition, and in my opinion the only thing that minecraft updated that affected everyone was the way the food system changed. everything else is optional for everyone that plays, and if you don't like any of the features you don't need to use them. The Mod API is the only thing that I would love for them to do. I would be very ok with them holding everything and getting the Mod API done, but horses seem like a great addition that I can ignore all I wantPosted in: News

In terms of adding block types, If this mod stays a world type, I am all for new block types, if this mod turns into a dimension, I'd prefer any new blocks be only in the dimension with the option of being brought out.
Lastly, regarding the surface it adds a sense of story to why there people reverted back to being "cave-men" because the surface became polluted and un-inhabitable.

*edit*
I kinda take back my idea for the cities..... I think I've been playing to much Tekkit, with modernized everything...

The "Mushroom Jungle" Zone gave me an idea, it would be interesting if you made a Mushroom Biome that either had mycelium or didn't, but had large mushrooms and larger patches of mushrooms, I mean if its suppose to be some sort of post apocalyptic type world, I feel like there would be random areas of the MASSIVE cave that had overgrown mushrooms and giant mushrooms, but make it very rare

campfires aren't a bad idea, however all I really care about is having a second sleeping item that doesn't reset spawn

I like it, I just hadn't really heard of it prior to your post

the thing is that i might not spawn in a really nice or interesting area so I end up making my house very far from my initial spawn point. So if I then take a spare bed with me when I venture out, every time I sleep I reset my spawn point, and if I break my bed I will re-spawn at the initial spawn location, but I want to have a permanent bed in my house that is my new spawn point, and then have the bedroll, sleeping bag, 2nd bed as a portable sleeping device so my spawn does not reset every time I sleep, (It would still be an item you place on the floor and take up 2 blocks of space, it just doesn't have any effect on spawn)

I think the bedroll and the sleeping bag are essentially the same idea... if I understand you correctly
that's why I would like to have a second item that acts like a bed but doesn't reset spawn
