I have only ever seen this when updating an older world to the pre-release, and then the issue is always resolved by changing the lighting - removing and re-placing a torch near the object. I've never seen this issue come up in new worlds, nor have I seen it resurface once addressed in old worlds.
There was actually a really nice mod for this. I don't think it;s been updated yet, but RepairMyItems was nice. Stick'em in a furnace and bam. So... Notch/Jeb. How about an anvil block that you put armor, weapons and tools on and then use a craftable hammer to repair items? Or "mix" them with the material that made it? A diamond to repair diamond stuff, iron for iron, etc.
Something like that would be ideal. And the durability needs a boost. I don't bother with armor because it requires so many resources and falls apart way too fast.
Realistically, Mojang should drop Villagers from the release until they're complete. At least IMO.
I would have thought so, too. Or at least separate the option for villagers from the options for other buildings. I do want abandoned shafts and strongholds. I don't want random villages that impact starting difficulty (if found early) and serve no purpose for gameplay.
I just liked the square sun and moon because they where a unique feature for a game and represent the unique physics. I just don't understand why people think round looks better. Probably the same people that use bettergrass and hd textures to make their game as realistic as possible, but why do they complain then? I would guess that most "round sun/moon"-voters already have them round in their texture packs.
Round 'looks' better, but it's completely out of place. Let modders deal with rounding the edges. Preserve the cube.
Releasing it as an official update would force all users after logging in to download and install the update. As the current version contains many unfinished features, bugs, and is generally pretty laggy, not everyone wants to or has installed it. But you can, if you want to. I imagine you already have, so I don't understand why you want the patcher to force it on other users.
Putting in a freeze to stop and optimize the code, fix bugs, and flesh out incomplete features now makes more sense than making the patch official.
While I think the round versions look better I'd be fine leaving it to modders to remove the corners rather than have the game default be round. Everything is a square with the exception of crafted items, basically.
Yeah renamed. As in the dark gloomy Ender replaced the constantly lit skylands. Like someone else said, people who don't want to build in the gloomy area wanted the bright area. It looks clearly different from what skylands was going to look like.
I was cool with the random spawning. I'll be fine with the animal husbandry deal too. I do think that they should spawn in existing chunks where none presently exist, or when there's groups in the wild there should be some passive breeding. It shouldn't be 100% dependent on players specifically making two animals get it on.
If he has a serious mental condition he should go see a doctor. You can't expect random internet people to be his doctor.
Things that look out of place or haphazard just irk you really bad if you have ocd tendencies. I'm somewhat the same. It's like an itch but you can't scratch it; it's difficult to ignore.
Actually it's more like:
They are too easy and annoying! Make them harder and remove their block carry ability.
Then they go like this:
They are too hard and boring! Revert them back to their old selves with the low hp and block carry ability.
What's the point?
My opinion I want them to not be able to carry every block that is in the game they please with the exception of dirt and smoothstone but are harder to kill.
Also not natural wood, as floating trees look retarded. And make them rarer so it's creepier. It's not creepy if they're everywhere, every night. They become expected and ordinary.
Well the first three irons are an easy choice, of course it's the almighty bucket :laugh.gif:
I'm so glad the first real thing I did in my newest world was to dig 10 3*3 holes, 2 deep :laugh.gif: That should help breeding a lot :biggrin.gif:
I always liked the leather armour as it was rather cheap. Since the damage reduction is the same for all kinds of armor I didn't use a single iron (or diamond, omg) part in mine. I would rather build 8 buckets instead of one armor set, so I really look forward to endless leather supply.
Spawning on a 10*10 island without mobs is too harsh in my opinion, I think islands should have a minimum size of three or four chunks, some smaller pieces scattered aournd would be enough for playing Lonely island ...
Island size isn't really an issue. It just shouldn't be your starting point on a new map. Also, I'd like to see a better method for transporting livestock.
More on topic, I try... I try... I try to use just leather so I can save Iron for minetracks and tools and doors and everything else, but leather wears out too quickly and is too difficult/time consuming to replace. It should be the go to set for those in a hurry or those who are otherwise poor. It's far easier to make an iron set by comparison. I just consider it a waste of non-renewable materials.

Anvil?

A couple of the houses are suitable for stealing, but making them all realistic or practical in size and layout would make villages massive.

Renamed as in it has a new name.
