Origin

LAST DAYS was a texture pack started by Doku (creator of the ever popular RPG pack). Doku began this pack with the essential land-scape defining textures (Dirt, Grass, Stone, water, trees, etc) but did not have time to do much more before discontinuing the pack. The concept he had, and the work he finished was to good to let die. Using Doku's visual and conceptual foundation History continued the pack, expanded it, and improved it. After History's dissapearance the pack was continued and further improved by Croco 15 and HalphPrice. Now I have chosen to keep LAST DAYS updated with the help of the community and continue to improve it, just like the other texture pack owners had before. If you would like to help speed the development of the pack here is a few things we need help with.

1.Updating the pack to the latest version of minecraft

2.Making sure all download links are up to date.-There are many community accounts for Lastdays please let us know if one of our links are out of date.

3.Writing Epic-Lore please discuss lore on the main forum more people frequent it and will have something to give.

4.Supporting mods we are looking to support mods 1.8 and on.

5. Spotting bugs there are many problems across Lastdays versions from a spelling error in the lang file to a misaligned gui

If you take interest just make a post and someone working on the same project will say hello.

Objective

The goal of LAST DAYS is to take doku's brilliant foundation work and bring it to its logical conclusion; a full scale, game changing, texture and sound overhaul which takes full advantage of the existing mechanics of minecraft and brings them into a post apocalyptic setting.

History here. I found myself thinking about Last Days tonight and I just wanted to say how proud I am of everyone who continued this pack after I left so suddenly. It is truly humbling to see what everyone in the community has done to continue and expand on things so many years later. I spent a little time on the lore thread earlier and is simply surreal to see what people have done to expand upon the foundation I set with orbital industries, the huggatrons and the likes. I hope everyone is still enjoying this pack, and I just wanted to say that I am truly grateful for the experience I had with the minecraft community while working on Last Days. Truly this will have always been a very special and rewarding experience for me. I left the community in the midst of an exceptionally challenging break-up and I am not happy with the way I handled that. but I am ecstatic with the work everyone did picking up the pieces and continuing to build and rebuild and expand and rebuild over all this time. This mod adds the following:

Cassowary

Hearts: x 10

Habitat: Forest, Birch Forest, Taiga, Savannah

Tempted by: Apples.

Can be bred? Yes.

Information: A very large, protective mob. It is passive, but when attacked will become hostile. The babies look different to the parents.

Duck

Hearts: x 3

Habitat: Rivers, Beaches

Tempted by: Bread.

Can be bred? Yes.

Varieties: 2

Information: A small bird found by rivers and beaches. It makes the well known 'quack'. The baby ducklings are yellow so you don't know if it's a duck or a drake until it grows up.

Flamingo

Hearts: x 6

Habitat: ?

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.

Can be bred? Yes.

Information: A fairly large pink bird. Can be found where there is water. They will stand on one leg to conserve body heat.

Gouldian Finch

Hearts: x 3

Habitat: Jungles

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.

Can be bred? Yes.

Information: These small, colourful birds are found in jungles. They make quiet chirping sounds and prefer leaving on their own in the wild.

Hummingbird

Can be bred? No.

Information: These are very small, colourful birds that make a lot of noise. They hover around and flap their wings really fast. They can be attracted by holding sugar.

Kingfisher

Hearts: x 3

Can be bred? No.

Habitat: Beach, River, Swampland
Information: These are small, quiet birds that live around water. Occasionally they will swoop in, retrieve a fish and fly around with it in their mouth.

Kiwi

Hearts: x 2

Habitat: Jungles, Forests

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.

Can be bred? Yes.

Information: A very small bird. It lays the largest egg in relation to body size of any bird.

Lyrebird

Hearts: x 4

Habitat: ?

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.

Varieties: 2
Can be bred? Yes.

Information: Very clever birds capable of mimicking animals. During the day they will copy sheep/cow/pig noises and at night they will start replicating zombie/skeleton/creeper noises. The males have orange tail feathers, whereas the females do not.

Magpie

Hearts: x 6

Habitat: Forest, Birch Forest, Roofed Forest, Taiga

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: These are medium sized walking birds. Occasionally they will 'scavenge' and hold something in their mouth. You can retrieve this item by hitting them, but it will take a while for them to scavenge again, or be more kind and 'swap' the item using wheat seeds. You can hear them via the chatter they make.

Extra: Summon a magpie holding something with /summon exoticbirds.EB_Magpie ~ ~ ~ {Equipment:[{id:clock}]}. This was coded to support ingots and compasses, so some items such as swords render incorrectly.

Ostrich

Hearts: x 11

Habitat: Desert

Tempted by: Apples.
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: These are enormous birds that can be found in dry biomes. They lay the largest egg of any other bird.

Owl

Hearts: x 6

Habitat: Forests, Swamp

Tempted by: Rotten Flesh.
Varieties: 3
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: Owls are medium sized birds that will spawn in forests. They will normally only appear as individuals. They will fly away if attacked. Their eyes glow in the dark.

Parrot

Hearts: x 4 (untamed) or x 10 (tamed)

Habitat: Jungle, Forest, Birch Forest

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.
Varieties: 4
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: These colourful birds can be found in jungles. They can be tamed using wheat seeds and will follow you like wolves. You can also make them sit, walk or fly by right clicking them.

Extra: Summon a tamed parrot using /summon exoticbirds.EB_Parrot ~ ~ ~ {Owner:Username}

Peafowl

Hearts: x 6

Habitat: Plains, Jungle, Forest, Birch Forest, Roofed Forest

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.
Varieties: 3
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: These birds were the first bird to be added to the mod. They can be found wandering around the world. The peacocks can be told apart from the peahens by the colourful plumage. Right clicking a peacock will change whether its train (tail feathers) are open or closed. You can also mate two peafowl using wheat seeds! There is also an elusive Albino Peafowl. Rumours say it lays golden eggs.

Pelican

Hearts: x 6

Habitat: Beach, River

Tempted by: Fish.
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: Pelicans are fairly large birds that live by bodies of water.

Penguin

Hearts: x 2 (Should be 5, but I messed up. Will be fixed next update)

Habitat: Cold Taiga

Tempted by: Fish.
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: Penguins are medium sized birds that live in cold biomes. They move pretty slowly, which is known as a waddle.

Phoenix

Hearts: x 100

Habitat: Does not spawn.

Can be bred? No.
Information: Phoenixes are large mythical creatures made out of fire. They can only be hatched out of Phoenix eggs with a light level of 9/10/11. Adult phoenixes can be saddled and flown. To fly up, look up. To fly down, look down. Upon death they drop a phoenix egg, so you will be able to rebirth your phoenix.

Pigeon

Hearts: x 4

Habitat: Forests, Plains

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.
Varieties: 2
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: Pigeons tend to be classed as vermin is certain areas of the world. In this mod there are two variants, the wood pigeon and the rock dove. They make a coo-ing noise so will be quite easy to find!

Roadrunner

Hearts: x 6

Habitat: Desert, Mesa, Savannah

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: A very very fast desert bird. It doesn't make much noise, but you won't be able to miss it! To get close, you need to be holding wheat seeds.

Seagull

Hearts: x 4

Habitat: Beach, River, Ocean

Can be bred? No.

Information: Seagulls will be found in near any biome with water. They will swoop round in circles and won't stop!

Swan

Hearts: x 6

Habitat: Beach, River, Ocean

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.
Varieties: 4

Can be bred? Yes.
Information: These birds can be found in any biome by water. As this is their natural habitat, you will often find them swimming in rivers. You can hear them by the harsh honking sounds they make.

Toucan

Hearts: x 4

Habitat: Jungle, Savannah

Tempted by: Wheat seeds.
Varieties: 3
Can be bred? Yes.
Information: These birds can be found in tropical biomes. They have large colourful beaks and make a distinctive call.

Vulture

Hearts: x 7

Habitat: Desert, Mesa

Tempted by: Meat.

Can be bred? Yes.

Information: A very large bird that can be found in deserts. They will fly into the sky and circle whilst looking for prey.

Woodpecker

Hearts: x 4

Habitat: Forest, Birch Forest, Roofed Forest

Varieties: 3
Can be bred? No.

Information: You can find these birds high up in trees merrily pecking away holes. They will make a sound when doing so, meaning you will know when one is nearby. When disturbed they will fly to find another tree.

Blocks, Items and Crafting Recipes

Bird Meat

Bird Meat is dropped by all of the birds. Just place the raw meat in a furnace to cook yourself some tasty grub!

Book of Birds

This book tells you about all of the birds in game. It includes their picture, the scientific name and a little caption about them. It can be crafted using a normal book and a peacock feather, like so:

Eggs

Eggs can be found in two ways: collected from nests, or laid by birds. All eggs have a 10% chance of spawning a chick when thrown. This can be increased up to 50% by crafting the eggs with blaze powder, adding 20% each time. Any attempt to increase after 50% will consume the powder, but not increase the chance.

There are also unidentifed eggs. These are black with a question mark on them. To indentify these, you must use the egg sorter. See below.

Eggshell

This item will occasionally drop from nests, and also when you throw any of the bird eggs. It can be used like bonemeal to speed up the growth of plants and to grow flowers.

Egg Identifier:

It can be crafted using the following recipe:

Placing unidentified eggs in the top slot and redstone dust in the bottom will result in the eggs being identified. This is not always successful and may produce eggshells.

Incubator:

The incubator can be crafted using the following recipe:

Placing eggs in the top slots and blaze powder in the bottom will level up the eggs. This machine allows the spawn rate to go all the way to 100%! It works on multiple eggs too!

Nests:

Probably the most important part of the mod. You will find these nests sitting atop leaves in your world. Breaking them will drop 0-3 different bird eggs and some sticks. Empty nests can be crafted using the following recipe.

You may right click on the nests to open the GUI.

Peacock Feather:

Dropped by peacocks, these feathers can be used to craft the Book of Birds.

Phoenix Dust:

This dust is used to create a phoenix egg. It can be found as a rare item in abandoned mineshaft chests. One is dropped by a phoenix upon death.

Phoenix Egg:

Phoenix eggs are used to hatch the mythical phoenix. They require a light level of 9 or above to hatch (a flame particle effect will appear when the light level is suitable). These can be found as a rare item in a monster dungeon, extremely rarely found in nests, or crafted by surrounding a chicken egg in phoenix dust.

Phoenix Feather:

Dropped by a phoenix upon death. This feather does not yet do anything.

Installation

This mod requires the latest version of Minecraft Forge which can be found here: Forge Download. You then drag the .jar file into your mods folder, just like you would with any other mod.

Millénaire is a single- and multi-player mod for Minecraft. It aims to fill the "emptyness" of single-player worlds by adding NPC villages to it, with loose 11th-century Norman, North Indian and Mayans themes and additional cultures planned.

Villages are populated with men, women and children of various kinds, who perform tasks such as trading with the player, expending current buildings or improving existing ones, cultivating crops such as wheat in Norman villages and rice in Indian ones, crafting tools and powerful amulets, etc. As the village expends, the number of villagers increases as couples have children who grow up into new adults.

Help villages grow by trading with them and be rewarded with unique items such as Normand and Indian food or statues and tapestries to decorate your house with. And if they start liking you enough, they might even build you a house of your own.

Millénaire is available in the following languages: French, English, German, Russian, Polish, Spanish, Czech, Swedish, Dutch, Portuguese, Slovenian, Hungarian, Chinese, Arab, Estonian, Norwegian, Ukrainian (more coming!)

- It is now possible to donate goods to villages for a big reputation boost
- Added two new advancements, Amateur Architect and Medieval Metropolis
- The keys for the Millénaire menu, the village list and the escort toggle are now set using the standard Millénaire UI
- Players' data is now linked to UUID not player name, enabling players to change their player name without losing their Millénaire progress
- Added two new commands, one to teleport players to a village and one to change a player's reputation with a village
- Fixed a bug where Millénaire stairs and slabs would have display issues when smooth lighting was off

Making new cultures

Since Millénaire 1.4, the bulk of a new culture can be made without code (not just buildings and village types like before, but new NPCs as well). As such I'm interested in player-made cultures to integrate in the main game, provided they fit the general theme of Millénaire of "real" cultures from around the 11th century. Players interested in producing one for Millénaire should PM-me about it. If we agree on the idea, I'll provide support in the form of help on how to mod Millénaire and in the form of whatever new code might be needed (for new items, blocks or good productions), though likely not with the buildings and NPCs themselves. I reserve the right to change anything I might not like in a culture I'm shipping with the mod itself, but in practice I intend to leave as much of a free hand as possible to culture designers.Contribution welcome, it helps make Millénaire a rich game!

- New lone buildings: the more different kind of lone buildings (or variations of the same kind), the better. People wanting to do lone buildings in the same style as the existing ones are welcomed. You can post your creation in the thread, preferably with a screenshot. I'll add those I think fit in Millénaire.

And when the pull of adventure becomes too strong, seek out the mysterious Sadhu in the forest to start a great quest on the origins of the world.

Alright, so there's this idea I've been working on for the past few weeks. You heard me, weeks. Basically, it's boats. Boats than you can make bigger, slap a name on, armor, choose what propulsion system it has, and carry stuff in.

Okay guys. Just a slight disclaimer, the explanation for this idea is going to be *HUGE*. The idea itself may be simpler, but the description will take a long time to explain. In a nutshell, it's bigger boats that are also modular.
So we'll start with a slight modification of a game mechanic. Otherwise, the idea won't work very well. So just keep in mind that in this idea, you can't push a boat around by standing on top of it. At least just for the higher-level classes, which we'll get to in a minute.
Also, upon entering a boat, a GUI will appear somewhere around the bottom-right or so that displays the ships 'health', and speed.

Before we go overboard (no pun intended), let's begin with some basic principles that can be applied to the current boat. Let's call it the Dinghy. You can't do too terribly much with the Dinghy, but you CAN do some things.
Dinghies can be crafted just like they normally are. However to modify a boat, a new tool will have to be brought into the game. Let's say it's a Hammer. Right-clicking on a boat with a hammer, granted you're the one that built it will open up a GUI.

Like I said before the abilities with the Dinghy are limited, so you have limited things that pop up in the GUI. All that displays for now is the hull, propulsion system, and their respective health bars. You can also give your boat its own custom name that appears on its hull (But this probably won't be for the Dinghy). You will also notice two numbers at the top. On the left (12/12), is the boat's hitpoints. I doubled their damage resistance because I thought it was kind of silly to kill a boat with one arrow. To the right (1) is the ship's base speed attribute. That is to say, the speed capability of a boat, excluding the propulsion system. Boat stats will vary upon each construction. Therefore someone can be proud of themselves if they have made a fast/strong ship.

Normally, you have your standard, nonreinforced plank hull. However, you could change that. Let's start with a Reinforced Wood Hull. In the crafting table, put in 9 pieces of log together to form a piece of Reinforced Wood Plating. Dinghies will probably only need one plate to reinforce themselves. Plating will probably not be stackable for gameplay purposes.
Reinforced wood will provide a higher defense for the dinghy. Two more types of hull include Steel and Gold. Steel Plating requires 4 Iron blocks in the crafting table, and Gold likewise. With a steel-plated hull, the boat can take considerably more damage than Plank or Wood. Steel hulls can possibly withstand lava. Gold plating is only slightly stronger than Reinforced Wood and is not feasible as battle armor. However, just in case you were thinking these hulls are easy to reinforce, keep in mind higher levels will need more plating as they get bigger.

When a boat is damaged, simply right-click with the Hammer to open up the GUI. There should be a slot for extra plating to go in should the ship need repair. To ensure fair fights, the repair will be timed, like a furnace. Each repair uses up the Hammer some. It would also be nice to see some sort of visual cue for an almost-destroyed ship, like fire or a broken, damaged texture.

And now, the propulsion systems.

With the default dinghy, you have your Hands. Hands for a dinghy are basically neutral, however they will be slower than in previous versions of the game.
An alternative solution, is craftable Oars. Oars are very maneuverable and faster than hands, however they do not grant a steady speed and require you to hold down the forward button whenever you want to move. They may even 'tire' you out more (using up more Hunger).

The last one for the Dinghy, is the sail. Sails can provide very fast speeds, however they have low thrust and are not easy to slow down and speed up easily. A steady speed is required for traversing around land-covered areas. Sails can also possibly be made with different colored wool, to help a boat stand out. Sails grant a steady speed as you can leave them unattended with very little deceleration.

So now we move on to a bigger boat. Not too terribly big, but we're getting there.

To construct larger ships and propulsion systems, you're going to need an alternative to the crafting table. Let's just call it the Shipwright. This block ONLY crafts boats and takes up more blocks of space.

I think for a new level of boat, you're going to need some Blueprints. Blueprints can most likely be created by interacting with the Shipwright by combining a blueprint (Or in this case, a solid Dinghy) and investing your Experience Points to come up with a new 'idea' for a bigger boat. The 'studying' is timed, again, like a furnace, and with each clump of EP filled, the progress bar is filled some. You can also find Blueprints in dungeons, but only rarely.
After that will be done, the Blueprints can be put in a separate slot, with another slot under it. The slot under it is for the wood required to build the boat. Every time you put more wood into the slot under it, the progress bar for the ship increases. I'm not sure if this should be the way but it sounds pretty good.
I think that for each class of boat, a bigger mast will need to be crafted. That, or just have one single mast that, for bigger boats, you need to pack in more Sails. Kind of like how plating works.

So now, the next level: the Skiff.

The skiff is *about* 2 1/2 times the length of the Dinghy. However, with the next level comes new features. First off is a second slot, a passenger seat if you will. But besides that, there are two more features.

Here, there will be special lots to place blocks at. These could be something decorative like gold blocks, or practical, like chests.

To place a block in there, logically you would right click on that one place with the block. It's possible the block lot will be highlighted by the Hammer to show you where you can place things. To get it out, leftclick with the Hammer and it will appear in your inventory. If blocks aren't your fancy, perhaps animals are. Here is where the extra space in the GUI comes in. There would be a list of all the entities in the boat. If they are NPCs, you can choose to move them to another slot, or evict them. You can also evict players, ~~but not move them~~[amended].

With the Skiff, you have an additional propulsion system. I'm not sure about this one so I'm going to need you guys' approval. Essentially, it is a steam-powered paddlewheel. The steam engine will need to be powered by coal, which will either have a furnace-like GUI or not. It is also be slightly less maneuverable than the Sail. The steam engine, like Sails, grant a steady speed and can be left unattended. They have perfect acceleration, however they are much slower than Sails.

For armoring, the Skiff will need more plates to sufficiently armor the boat. Possibly two or three.
The skiff will most likely be the largest boat to successfully navigate shallow marshlands and the like.

Now, for the adventurous sailor, we're going to go one step up. Meet the Cog. The Cog is a fair-sized boat, but it is hardly big. What is does have though is a top deck large enough to walk upon. Now, we're going to introduce another feature. This time, the Cog will have a lower deck. You could be able to place a few blocks in that bottom deck, such as beds and chests. This will be good for long adventures. If you aren't spoiled, you would be happy with a Cog for your adventuring needs. Hands are now unusable.
For gameplay, an invisible, penetrable box will be in the interiors of the ship that hides water and its effects when water blocks go near it, but as soon as they leave the water blocks return to normal.

Now here, starting with the Cog, is the boat's main means of offense and defense. You guessed it, the Cannon. I believe the cannon could be made with a crafting table. To fire (And right now I'm making most of this up as I go along), you must first craft a Cannonball (Maximum of 16 allowed in hand), and right click on the cannon. The cannon will fizz for about 2.5 seconds or more before firing the cannonball. You must wait an additional second to fire again. To adjust the angle of a cannon, rightclick it (without a cannonball) to point the cannon up or down.

Now with ships and other entities, contact with the cannonball will just equal damage being dealt. But with blocks, there is a chance (Depending on their blast resistance) that the block being hit, and/or the blocks around it will be pushed forward and respond to gravity. And in rare cases, break upon falling.
That, or it would just be a weak form of TNT. But I like the former better. Mostly because it's my idea. Good gosh I think I'm vain or something.
So like I said, if you aren't spoiled, you would be happy with a Cog for your adventuring needs.

But sometimes, you ARE spoiled. Or, just requiring a bit more power. That's where the fourth level comes in, behold: the Carrack. Significantly larger than the other boats, this one can actually be called a ship. It has 3 decks. The first being the top deck (Which comprises of the main deck, quarter and poop, naturally), the second the gun deck, which to the back holds the captain's quarters, and the bottom deck is mainly for cargo. If the Carrack is steampowered the boiler room will be in there.

Oars are now unusable for the Carrack, as are Hands for Cogs. (The Oars for the Cogs would be weaker than on the Skiff and Dinghy, as would hands with the Skiff. However with the Steam engine and Sail, they just get faster with each level, with exceptions [amended])
Another neat thing you get to do with the Carrack is you get to live up to the naval definiton of a ship. On the Carrack, you can place another boat inside it for scouting/lifeboats. But it can only be a Skiff or Dinghy.

Okay, next one. Here we go.

(This level is optional. You guys tell me if it should be ingame.)

Now sometimes, your lust for power is so great no measly Carrack can hold it; not even when it is steel-hulled and armed to the teeth. No, you wish for the very seas to obey your will. Well, you psychopath, here's the fix for you: Feast your eyes sir, on the Galleon. Over twice the size of a Carrack, four long decks and plenty of guns, you would not want to war with this vessel. It is essentially a Carrack on steroids; bigger, stronger (but not faster [amended]), and scarier. But, slightly slower. Should you decide to armor it, keep in mind it will need 8 Platings to armor (Maybe more). And considering each plating requires 4 blocks to fill, you're going to need a LOT of iron.

When a ship finally loses all of it's 'health', it will sink to the bottom of the sea. Here, it is subject to despawn, but will stay there as long as there is a player near it. Although dangerous, it would then be available for looting, if you haven't plundered the ship while it was afloat already. < --- This entire paragraph is subject to discussion and alternative options. It's also been proposed that the ship turn into it's block counterpart, only leave chests, or like in the Amendment Posts, leaves a Ship's Bell that can serve as a savegame for your ship.

Now, I understand that such a feature is going to be *HUGE*, possibly requiring its own update, and would be just a massive undertaking. But I for one believe it will be an undertaking worth the effort. It would heighten the spirit of Minecraft adventure and exploration, people could trade vast amounts of resources over long distances, and plunder other ships for their booty. So I'm not 100% expecting this to be accepted entirely (But if it is, thankyouthankyouthankyou!), but in the future if any modders were curious about how to go about doing their ship mod, this could be a good example. But I really hope this would at least be seen by Mojang. Just two-thirds into completing this idea, I read an old tweet of Notch saying that he might add something like this in the future. So, if you are, this could be one of the ways to go about it.

Amendment Post 1:
- In the Shipwright GUI, the product slot of the boatbuilding section is now a button. I've updated the image.

- Craftable ship components should have been expanded. In addition to a Galley, an Anchor component (probably most vital) is also one of them. Also proposed by the community are tables, crows' nests (That basket thing on the top of masts), icebreakers, and if the NPC crew idea is implemented, a sea captain's desk to chart courses for the helmsman.

- I actually think you should be able to move players. I mean, if they actually decided to choose to lock themselves in a mob slot rather than move around freely I think the captain should be free to move them wherever.
Amendment Post 2:
- Galleons really shouldn't be the fastest ships out there, it would be unfair. Instead, their base speed capability should be a tiny bit slower than a Carrack, probably. Updated.

- Right clicking on a cannon without a cannonball could point the cannon up/down. Updated.

- Different types of ships that do not follow the linear 5-level path of upgrades. Instead, 'extra' ship blueprints could be found in dungeons in strongholds, but they would be rare. Could be a way to get Caravels and viking ships or whatnot.

- I'm not sure about the decay process of sunken ships. Perhaps after someone leaves the ship's general area, a timer starts and eventually the ship will despawn. Or maybe it just stays there forever but can be 'mined' away to recollect valuable materials.
Amendment Post 3 (Note: These are not as important as the first 2) :
- Flags. Although I'm sure colored sails can do a good job of faction identification, custom-made flags would be really great to have. They could be used outside of boats, too.

- Extra ammo types. The standard cannonball would be made of stone and gunpowder, but others could be made out of iron and other materials. The new usable fireball coming 1.2 would also make a neat incendiary addition. Other types can inclde grapeshot and chainshot.

- Sea monsters. Pretty straightforward, I'd like to see some minor sea bosses when roaming the sea. But in my opinion, they should be restricted to certain sizes of ships (Dinghies have no bosses). For example the ship the size of a Skiff would probably only get a shark or something, whereas something Cog-sized would get sharks and sea serpents, medium-sized ships like the Carrack would get sea serpents and maybe giant octopus (Will wrap tentacles around the ship and begin to tug down unless tentacles are damaged), etc...They are, however, uncommon.

- A ship's bell. Yes, they can be used as a normal bell, but there's something that makes them special. Once placed on a ship, it bears the ship's name and can ONLY be placed on that ship (e.g Bell of the S.S Whatchamacallit). Then, if a sunken ship despawns, that bell is turned into a block at the bottom of the ocean and contains all of the ship's data. Then, it can be used to recreate the ship.

- Sea obstacles. The ocean would be made that much better if occasionally you stumbled upon a mini-biome within an ocean. These could be mysterious sea rocks, or icebergs made of pack ice where a tundra or arctic biome would usually be.

- Yes, I have SEEN the Zeppelin Mod. You're just about the 508th person to show me this. Yes, I've seen it. YES, I think it's a great mod, but in my opinion it's best to leave it at that, and this idea is about the vanilla Minecraft ships made of predefined modules, not blocks, as that seems to be more congruent with the current game mechanics. Saying "There's a mod for that" is a warnable offense, in any case.

While I would really like it for you to give me your two cents, this thread is not for people to make up entirely their own ideas on how the boats work. That part's already here, mostly

Simple medieval townsfolk with familiar faces

I'm a big fan of the original "look and feel" of minecraft, with its simple low-resolution textures, and slightly medieval/fantasy feeling. But the villagers have always left me feeling a little sad, and so I thought I'd make a resource pack, JUST to replace the villagers with something a little more.. familiar.

The Stevian Villagers resource pack is a very light pack, which only replaces the textures on the 5 stock villager types (as well as the unused sixth "villager"). Gone are the silly noses and unibrows, replaced with friendlier, more steve-ier characters: The Farmer, the Barmaid, the Blacksmith, the Village Historian, and the Lord Mayor. Each with their own unique style and personality.

Known Issues

Reproductive issues

In their natural state, villagers appear to be sexually monomorphic, that is to say, they don't seem to have genders. Villager reproduction can occur between any two villagers, regardless of character class. The "Girls" (barmaids/butchers) as defined in this resource pack, are far outweighed by the population of "Boys" (all the other villagers) in any given village. As such, most "breeding" is statistically most likely to be between two villagers who have a texture that suggests they are both male. The only hope for fixing this would be if Mojang suddenly decided to add a second "Female" villager type. Given that all the other breedable minecraft mobs are sexually monomorphic, I suspect we'll be waiting a long time for this. At the end of the day, it's just a game. Have a laugh, and get back to mining. Life is too short to stress about things like this.

Children with beards

Villager Children don't have their own texture, so they use the texture of the adult class that they're destined to become. As such, they may appear with white hair, beards or 5-o'clock-shadow. Since there is no "Child.png" to modify, this is currently un-fixable. Assume the children are "Playing Dress-up" for a school play.

This texture pack utilizes MCPatcher's Connected Textures & Randomobs mods to a huge extent. If you want to use my extensive connected textures mod support, MCPatcher is required. Currently MCPatcher has a better CTM version than Optifine's. If you try and use CTM with Optifine ~C3 you're going to get a lot of bugs.

About
It's been almost a year since I released the first version of Revival. A lot has changed since then, pretty much every texture has been redone, including a general change in style overall. My pixel art skills are always improving so I can't guarantee the pack will look the same in another 6 months. My changes have been mostly well received though, so I hope you guys will continue to enjoy my work. If you do enjoy it, share it with your friends, family, family pets, strangers or acquaintences; I'd appreciate it!

I'm not done yet though, I will continue to update this pack for the forseeable future and I always have a todo.txt with 10 more things I need to update. My interest in Minecraft waxes and wanes, and with it, so does the speed of my updates. Stick with me though, because I'll put SOMETHING out, temporary or not.

Just for fun, I figured I'd write a little about the history of my texture pack career™.

In late 2009, I made a replacement leaf texture just because I was sick of the neon green leaves. This spiralled out of control as I realised there was always something I didn't like about another texture. This led to my first pack which I stupidly called SMP's Realistic. It wasn't realistic at all but HD textures weren't A Thing then and I was using colors pulled from photos.

Then someone figured out that you could make higher-res textures just by doubling the size of the texture file. The first thing I did was make a hideous photo realistic texture pack called 2Realistic (get it? GET IT?!). I canned that almost immediately though and made a regular 32x texture pack where everything ended up looking like a different colored sand. I called it...SMP's Texture Pack.

I'm not sure when it happened, but I made a really lazy 16x version of it for the Webhallen texture pack contest.

Around the same time, Doku released his first texture pack and it blew my mind. Actual pixel art, and it was awesome. I had the great idea to make a cartoony texture pack, and for the first time I ever, I didn't just abuse photoshop tools to something out. Warning: the image below is terrible and will probably hurt to look at.

After some time I just gave up on Minecraft in general, discontinuing my pack and letting others take over it. For months I used a John Smith/DokuCraft mix pack I made, and around May '11 I decided to make a 16x mix pack too. It used textures from a bunch of different packs including painterly, quandary, eld and norsecraft. I don't have any pics of the original pack, but I do have this terrain.png from when I first started making my own replacements.

Then stuff and things happened, and this is the oldest version of Revival I can find. If you have an earlier version, please post it here so I can look back in nostalgia . Edit (5/21/12): Thanks to The Barinade for relinking the very first release of Revival! It's the second image below.

New Launcher
1) Run the latest launcher and download 1.6.2
2) Go to %appdata%/.minecraft/versions
3) Copy the directory named 1.6.2 and paste as 1.6.2ML(you may name however you please, but everything must match) so there are now two copies.
4) Enter new directory and rename the jar and json files to match the directory.
5) Open the json file in your prefered Notepad program and change:

4) Drag and drop the necessary files into the jar.
5) Delete the META-INF folder in the jar.
6) Run Minecraft, enjoy!

Macintosh:
1) Go to Applications>Utilities and open terminal.
2) Type in the following, line by line:
```
cd ~
mkdir mctmp
cd mctmp
jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar
```
3) Outside of terminal, copy all the files and folders into the mctmp directory.
4) Back inside terminal, type in the following:
```

cd ..
rm -rf mctmp
```
5) Run Minecraft, enjoy!

Elemental Arrows 1.6.2
The Elemental Arrows mod adds four new types of arrows; explosive arrows, fire arrows, ice arrows, and a joke weapon, egg arrows.. They are crafted the same way as normal arrows, but the head is replaced based on the element; gunpowder for explosive, coal for fire, snowball for ice, and egg for, well, egg. Crafting an explosive arrow only gives you one arrow, and it explodes upon impact. Crafting a fire arrow gives you one arrow, that will ignite stuff upon impact. Crafting an ice arrow gives you one arrow, that will freeze water into ice, lava springs into obsidian, put out fire, and break torches. Egg arrows spawn chickens upon impact with the ground, but there's a secret too. Lightning arrows strike lightning where ever they hit, use diamond in recipe. Homing bow recipe is same layout as regular bow, but diamond instead of sticks. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Sign Tags 1.6.2
Type [time] into a sign, and it will show the current time. You can also type [x], [y], or [z] and find the current position of the sign in regards to that axis. [a|b] is a redstone input function for signs, where text replacing 'a' will be shown when the sign is powered, otherwise 'b' is shown. Type [light], and it will show you the current light level of the sign's position. [biome], [temp], [humid] each tell you the biome you're in, the temperature of that area, and the humidity of that area, respectively. [temp], [humid] will no longer function in Nether.

Death Chest 1.6.2
When you die, if you have a chest in your inventory, it will be placed where you die, or in the closest available spot. The chest will be filled with as many items as possible. Items stored in the crafting slot are still lost, as usual, and any excess that won't fit in the chest will be dropped.

AudioMod 1.6.2(Not updated for now)
AudioMod is an upgrade of sorts, and a modder's utility. Included in this mod is CodecIBXM, created by Paul at www.paulscode.com, who is the creator of the sound system used in Minecraft. It allows Minecraft to play (in addition to ogg, wav, and mus files), xm, s3m, and mod files. The only readily available feature of this mod is the ability to add new music, however, it adds support for modders to add new records and sound effects. There is a slight increase in load time when using this mod. Using this, you can also use custom sounds, alongside the originals. Custom music and sound goes into the resources folder, music in mod/music. Custom sounds go into mod/sound. For example, if I were to add a new footstep sound effect to stone, I'd put the new stone1.ogg in mod/sound/step. In game, the new sound would occasionally be played, alongside the originals. Custom sounds for things like the menu click and water do not always work, at the moment.

Floodgate 1.6.2
Floodgate block can be used as either a floodgate, allowing toggleable water and lava falls, or as a trapdoor. When you place the floodgate control block, it will place a gate in front of the control block in the direction you are facing. Applying redstone power to this will remove the gate. Use the control block to open the GUI where you can place supporting blocks that will replace how the gate looks. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Spawner GUI 1.6.2
Adds a GUI to all mob spawners, that will allow you to pick what mob to spawn. I also reallowed mining spawners. You can disable spawners with redstone aswell. Should be compatible with all mobs, but don't expect the mobs with special spawn conditions to work everywhere. Animals require grass, Monsters require darkness, Slimes require being in their special chunks, and 0-16 depth. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Block Distortion 1.6.2
This mod is just an experiment. Everything that is 3D (Mostly noticeable on blocks) has a random distortion. Known issues include: Clouds randomize as they move across the sky, held items look rather odd, and GUI elements may be screwed up. I don't recommend using this mod long.

Biosphere 1.6.2
This is a new generator. You may select this generator in More World Options when creating world. In this generator, the world is made up of massive spheres with glass domes. Inside these spheres are random biomes. There is a random chance of a lake being placed in the center of each sphere. Usually water, but rarely lava. Bordering this lake you will find sand for water, or gravel for lava. Connecting each sphere is a wooden bridge with fence rail. Beside each sphere is a smaller sphere, which is where you will find diamond and lapis lazuli. These ores only occur here, the others are equally spread throughout the spheres. The cave generator used here is a modified Nether cave generator, where like on the surface, will generate lava below a certain level. if this lava reaches the outside, an obsidian wall will be made to hold it in. Many options can be changed in ".minecraft/config/Biosphere.cfg". Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Armor Stand 1.6.2
This block will give you a place to show off your armor. Just place the block and right click on the platform. You can choose from a selection of skins to hold your armor, as well as have it stare at you, constantly. You may also change the texture of platform by putting block in the last slot. Known issues include: placing a block inside of dummy, standing on its head, possible inability for mobs to path around it. Recipe is 3 solid stone blocks along bottom, with 2 sticks in the middle. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.
