    It would be funny if after fighting your way though a burning hot hell you are teleported to the bottom of a gigantic cold ocean. Possibly with sea monsters! One of the few times you may rather be in hell.

    Great post Lucifer. I agree with everything you've listed there and just reading it gets me exited for the upcoming update.

    That's what I was going to say. There could be hot fiery areas, bleak dark areas, and broken areas of floating obsidian islands with a bottomless bit below and flying daemons circling above.

    I hope hell isn't easy to enter and is only something you get to experience later in the game. Hell gates should be expensive and difficult to make made from obsidian, gold and even buckets of lava. It shouldn't even be a item that you craft and place, but a certain structure you build from blocks.

    I'm not sure if you should have to build a separate gate in hell to get out... I would think building a gate top-side would also create a gate in hell and or course building a gate in hell would spawn one topside. Hopefully not inside someone's house. :-)

    Yeah, I thought about that shortly after I posted. In fact, that's how I made the streets on the older maps. I might try it some time, but I haven't had much time to make maps lately.

    Can anyone tell me what these maps are still compatible with? Can they be imported into SMP?

    Thanks! Some of them had ore in them, but I didn't re-upload those version when I had to change hosts. It's not too hard to load these back up into Omen and use the add ore tool (or whatever it's called).

    Potentially, but you seem to already have the hard part worked out (images and sizes). Just download OMEN, set the map size you want, and then import a greyscale heightmap.

    If if need any help, just ask, but it should be a fairly simple process.

    Sorry, that's not particularly easy with the meathod I'm using. I'm also not making any maps right now becuase I'm not even sure if everythings compatible anymore with the new minecraft.

    I stared out looking for some raw elevation data, but I couldn't find what I wanted nor could I really work with the data, so I just grabed a grayscale heightmap from an image search and messed with the contrast.

    I have no idea what you two are talking about. As I've stated a few times before, I made all these maps from scratch with Photoshop and OMEN.

    I have made maps for Simcity 4 before, and the process is similar, but it still starts with creating a grey-scale image in an image editor. I know nothing about the Sims world creation tool, but I doubt it would have any compatibility with Minecraft. But thanks for trolling.

    This topic is ridiculous.

    First of all, the textures will be for individual blocks, not entire walls covered in one image. It wouldn't be easy to set up the textures so under a certain build do you see the entire image.

    Second, Minecraft already has "inappropriate" items as it's a game where you can build anything you wants. There are already swastikas, statues with penises, and other inappropriate items. I'm not say that's fine and dandy for kids, but that brings me my next point...

    Third, if a parent is concerned about a child stumbling across something on the Internet that they find inappropriate, the parent has the responsibility of monitoring the child and/or reviewing content before the child starts working with it. A child can already get on to porn sites, find inappropriate videos on Youtube, or go on to 4chan if the parent doesn't take measures. I think a block-building game with custom textures is the least of a parent's worries.

    In short, Zuriki, you're either highly over-reacting or are being a major concern-troll. I'm going suggest that this thread be locked.

    But it's mostly just making a grayscale image in Photoshop or GIMP and importing it in to Omen.
