posted a message on Can someone please make a short mod spotlight?
This is a VERY small mod, it would take no time at all to cover what this mod does, but I'd also love some feedback on what I should do next! :)
All information is in the forum page.

    Custom Menu v0.1.0
Thanks for the great spotlight, Arnatoras!

Custom Menu is a mod in the works designed to let modpack makers have lots of control over the main menu very simply using configs.
This mod is in very early stages, and I need ideas! What would you like in your Minecraft Menu?

    Screenshots

Everywhere you see "Default" is configurable.

Where you see "BUTTON LABEL HERE" is a customizable button which takes you to this gui..

Where it says "WEBSITE URL HERE" is changeable in the config.

    Features
    • You can change the amount of blur on the menu background
    • You can change the text on the menu
    • There is an added button for modpack makers to add their website or server address.
    • Clean and simple.
    Installation Instructions and Download
    • Install forge
    • Install my mod after forge into the jar (currently working on a coremod version.)
    • Launch once
    • Change configs to your liking (CustomMenu.cfg in the configs folder)

    Modpacks?
This mod is designed for use in modpacks, so of course I'm allowing it. All I ask for is that you credit me somewhere.

depends, how much experience do you have with coding AI's?

Absolutely none. I'd still like to contribute as much as I can, so I'll check back here often for things I can do for you.

do you want me to do a mod showcase aswell?

I watched the video that you sent to me, and honestly, I like your style, but you didn't share enough information, nor was there enough in-game footage.

posted a message on Anyone willing to do a mod spotlight for me? :)
I've been working on a mod for some time now that, put simply, makes the tech tree last longer, makes the game more challenging, whilst keeping it fun and very rewarding. I'd love it if someone could so a spotlight on it, show off the changes and maybe some gameplay to show how it will greatly affect the player. Thanks :)

    Rebalanced.
    THIS MOD'S GETTING REWRITTEN.
    SEE YA IN 1.7!

    EDIT: 0.1.5 is here! Changelog:
+ New GUIs for potions effects and armor. You can toggle it with F6, and that key is changeable in the controls menu in-game.
+ Thirst meter (Sure, it doesn't work. You can pretend.)
+ Configs for drop rates of items like rocks, small and medium iron ore, etc.
+ Sounds for crafting of wood (I added this before I found out BTW did it, I promise. I'm still not taking it out because it's awesome.)
    + Reworked wood system
+ Throwable rocks that can smash windows (there are some server problems)
+ Some new textures by Dylan4Ever
    * Changed the name of the furnace to "Sturdy Furnace". This is the first change to furnaces, the rest will come in 0.2.0.
    * Changed the default drop rates to be a little more fair.
    * More sticks from tall grass

Have you ever felt that the beginnings of Minecraft, how long it takes to proceed to the Iron Age, is ridiculously short?
My aim with this mod is to make it harder to proceed, but still retain the fun factor, and keeping it as compatible as possible with other Forge modifications.
Most of the early tech tree has been modified, as this is the part which Mojang didn’t make last long enough, a player can expect to jump from scratch to Iron in no more than 2 minutes, but with this mod it can take upwards of 40 minutes, which is a much better time span. Once you have a Diamond Pickaxe, normal gameplay can resume.
I think in order to show off this mod at its best, I’m going to go through the steps you would usually take to proceed up the tech tree, and show you what’s changed.

    The Tiers

    Wood
First change you might notice, after punching wood, is that you can’t craft them into planks! You’re gonna need at least a Stone Axe to do that. Don’t worry, we’ll get to that. First recipe you’ll need is a new recipe for a crafting table (don’t worry, the old one is still there, intact.)

And here’s an alternative wooden pickaxe recipe, the old one still intact.

But, what about the sticks? How about you go foraging around in the tall grass, there’s bound to be a couple of sticks in there, fallen from branches.
With that said, wooden pickaxes are all you can get without cheating. Might want to move on to the next stage soon, which is…

    Stone
Next up, you’re going to want to mine some stone.
Wait, Rocks? Don’t worry; they can be crafted into cobblestone.

That’s all you can do with rocks, but eventually they’ll form a good early caveman weapon (probably next update).
You’re going to have to get used to not farming and axing things to death, as you can’t craft Hoes or Swords until the Iron Age! Never fear, Stone Axes make quite a decent makeshift weapon.

Also, sheep seem to drop Lamb Shanks. While they’re delicious and all, there’s no wool! So you’re either going to want a lot of string from spiders, or a pair of shears to get some wool.
So now you should go get yourself some iron ore.
Wait, what’s this? Small Iron Ore? That right there is 1/9 of an iron ingot! That’s right…

That’s 27 iron ore for your first Iron Pickaxe! But once you do get the iron pickaxe, you’re onto the next stage, that being…

    Iron
With an iron pickaxe in your hands, it’s time to dive into mining some more iron. This time it’s much easier, as you’ll find that iron ore actually now drops MEDIUM iron ore, a much larger ore which you can smelt into chunks, wielding more iron ingots for your ores.

You’ll also find that your Iron Pickaxe will give you cobblestone, not rocks.
With iron now readily available, you can jump into farming and you’ll have a material to make a sword out of, so you can ditch that Stone Axe.
Meanwhile you’ll have a way of getting planks, and a new way of getting sticks:

Chests are also now craft-able in this tier, as the recipe was changed.

Seriously, I see an iron lock on those chests, yet the recipe was entirely wood. It made no sense.
There’s also a new arrow recipe, but it’s actually cheaper, so don’t fret.

I suggest you go grab yourself a few diamonds.

    Diamond
You’re almost done with the tech tree! Took a lot longer, right? Well, by the end of this tech tier, everything’s efficiency will feel much like vanilla, as the diamond tool jump is a huge leap forward.
It’s simple, right? No, because Diamond Ore now drops Diamond Crystals.

After you collect the 12 crystals to make your first Diamond Pickaxe, it’s all smooth sailing from there.
Diamond Pickaxes make Iron and Gold drop full ores, and Diamond Ore drop full Diamonds. Also, Wood Refining is back to vanilla pricing, and bonus sticks.

So, there you have it, that’s the entire tech tree, rebalanced! :)

Mortar and Pestle is complete, staffs are pretty much done, just some extra tweaks are necessary.
I'm setting back release just a little bit to make a change to the Hot Rocks to pull from the smelting recipes. If a block smelts into a block, you can do the same transmutation on a hot rock. So if there's some rubber wood from IC2 next to a hot rock, it will smelt into a jungle wood block.

The mod is coming along super well, the staffs, if I do say so myself, are turning out perfectly. There are 4 staffs finished out of 5 planned, but I also plan a few GUNS. The guns will have sounds, break glass, better accuracy on crouch, models on the bullets, shell casings, and maybe headshots. These guns (handgun, shotgun, lmg, smg, rifle and rocket launcher) may release at 0.6.0.
A Mortar and Pestle should also make an appearance at 0.5.0 :)

Hopefully 0.5.0 will be finished by Sunday.
