Is there a way to automate creation of items that need to be crafted on the Worktable? I tried using the ME Interface with a pattern inside, but that just passed in the items without arranging them. It's a minor hassle having to do a bit of math on how many parts I need to craft, then taking them all out and going over to my Worktable to arrange them and craft everything, vs. just specifying how many machines I want to craft.
MultiMC doesn't use the FTB launcher's JVM settings when launching FTB sync instances. Try setting it to the FTB monster defaults: 2000 mb max memory and 1024 permgen size.
I set the MMC launcher's memory allocations to those, but it still gives an out of memory error. And when I try to use those in the pack's settings, I get this.
I noticed an Out of Memory error, so I fiddled with the memory. Setting it up to 1024 min/2048 max wouldn't even let it start (wasn't able to reserve that much) and putting it down at 256/512 gave the out of memory error again,. It runs perfectly fine when I launch it via the FTB launcher. It's in a separate folder on the desktop as well.
Here's my memory usage when running it via the FTB launcher.
That was way back when multiMC5 was just sort of starting. I answered someone earlier on the "proper" way to do it now. (it's so much easier than that)
Note that after you initially setup the FTB sync, any modpack updates and newly downloaded modpacks will be added to the FTB group in multiMC automatically.
Ah, thanks so much! A couple of my favorite mods will have some more updates, and I'm not sure whether or not the FTB pack will update to those as well. Plus I'd like to add a couple more mods, while still keeping a default copy to play on servers with.
EDIT : Looks like I'm crashing. It autodetected the pack fine, but when I went to run it, it crashed after going through the normal startup. Here's the log. http://paste.ee/p/mivnV
Might have something to do with this line.

1. create a new instance of the proper version and install forge on it.
2. open the folder where the FTB launcher is at and open the folder for your modpack.
3. open the folder for your instance (the "Instance Folder" button)
3. drag and drop the minecraft folder from the FTB instance to the multiMC instance.
Found this via Google. I'm trying to follow it, but having issues with step 1. I don't really know how to install Forge for this because the instance itself does not contain the minecraft jar, but trying to manually add the files to the 1.6.4 jar in versions causes it to re-download upon launch. I've tried using the auto installer, but it's telling me there's no launcher profile.
How do you add power to the gravel gun? Crafting it with a spring doesn't work, right clicking with a spring with the gun in your hotbar doesn't work either, and it doesn't gain any power from a coil winder, so I really have no clue how I'm supposed to use it now.
I know you don't have a date for v16, but do you see it being ready this month or next month? Just want a general idea of how long it'll be until I can play with that amazing reactor you're working on.
And how much fluorite would you recommend gathering before starting with ReactorCraft? I've got over 200 of each color, but I feel like I might need a lot more than that.
Could I request that the Cadmium Ore's texture be tweaked slightly? It uses the same pattern as regular ores and has a color palette that is very close to diamond ore; so much so that from 10 blocks away it's hard to distinguish.
There is also the fact that silverwoods are so valuable for other things. This is why timewood is similarly valuable, for example.
Alright, that makes sense.
On another topic, I was building a borer and noticed that the description said "...it will dig tunnels in the direction it is facing for as long as you like." Does it actually not have a range limit? It would make gathering resources far easier since I've been doing everything by hand, and if it truly can dig for thousands of blocks in one direction, that would make things much simpler.
EDIT : Unless I'm reading the GUI wrong, it seems like the borer is digging on the opposite side it ought to be. I have it facing West; does orientation matter?
No. Silverwood is relatively very rare due to the extreme difficulty in farming it.
Difficult to farm yes, but with the amount of silverwoods in the new biome, you really don't need to farm them. Unless you're constantly running 100+ ethanol engines, the amount you can see here should last you for months. I sheared about 5 small trees to get enough leaves for the 40k ethanol I have; there's probably 40+ more trees here.
Are you planning to reduce the amount of sludge Silverwood leaves produce in the Fermenter for v16? With the new Magical Forest biomes, Silverwood trees are very easy to find. With a few stacks of sugar, I got over 40k ethanol crystals to use and don't see myself running out anytime soon.
And do you know if the FTB Monster pack will update to v16, or stay with the current one? I'll probably just export the vanilla pack to MultiMC and manually add it there if there won't be an update.
Just wanted to show off my jet fuel production area. The Factory Blocks are very well done and help with the feel of the place.
I've got an Extra Utilities Sound Muffler hidden underneath so I'm not deafened whenever I go near this place. Once I get some surplus dust and tar, I'll get these running again. Wasn't able to keep up previously; one grinder running at 8k rad/s isn't enough to handle processing enough materials for 4 Fractionation Units.
Do the Gas Turbines require open space in front of the intake? I want to make a jet fuel production area using these turbines, and I want to try and make it hard to damage them. Right now I've got this area, and plan to cover it up, leaving the bottom layer open. If it turns out the turbines can be placed with one open air block (or none), then I'll go ahead and fill it all in. The turbines will be connected to the bevel gears, and after an initial bucket is placed in, will run off of the jet fuel produced, sending the leftovers into the tank.

Was able to successfully download from this link. Although I'll probably wait a few days for all of the major bugs to be fixed before I update.

Completely forgot about it being able to do that. I feel rather silly now.
