There is no such code. You have a control in the GUI; is that enabled?

Drops are on. Watched it for a bit, Saltpeter and Ruby make it through just fine, but pretty much everything else does not. I put an Efficiency 4 enchantment on it, and I'm giving it this much power. Maxed out 4 Magnetostatics and using a 4:1 Bedrock Gearbox for speed. Removing the chest on the side does not affect the behaviour, it rarely ever spits anything out.

EDIT : Now that is VERY interesting. Did some testing, it's not the Magnetostatic Engine that's the issue, it's gearboxes. I don't know why they'd be causing it, but when I have a gearbox right against the back of the boring machine with no shafts in between, drops are voided. Adding a shaft or removing the gearbox returns normal functionality. This applies to RotaryCraft power gen as well, not just Magnetostatics.

This was fixed in v16, three months ago.

I knew it was awhile back, but not THAT far back. Guy must be using a very early version of a pack on a server or something. I guess I'll stop worrying about him.

Also, should I add the ability for the bedrock axe to cut a 5x5x5 or 3x3x3 of leaves, like the TiC scythe?

Would that be a secondary behaviour you could use on anything tree related with some sort of toggle, or a fallback for when a tree doesn't match anything in your registry? Or is it just for leaves and ignores wood?

EDIT : Ah jeez, I think Railcraft registered its Abyssal Stone hardness wrong, since 131kNm of torque with Efficiency 4 is still not enough to break through 21 blocks, let alone the full 35, and the wiki says it has a hardness of 2.

I'm guessing you intentionally voided drops from the Boring Machine when it's run off of Magnetostatics? I set up a nice reactor from Big Reactors down there to get started on resource collection, but nothing was coming out. Spawned in a gas turbine to test, drops came out as expected. Bit bummed that I'll have to switch over to an EnderQuarry for now; I liked the place and forget part of the Boring Machine.

Was there a bug a version or two ago with something along the lines of radiation causing corruption? Found a guy who says "Getting rad sickness immediately crashes your client. Cannot log in until you delete your player data", but refuses to try replicating it on the latest version. I recall there being something similar being discussed a couple weeks back.

Thanks, I'm also investigating other possible ways to get water in. What about the Aqueous Accumulator from TE? Will it have be able to provide water quickly enough? This leaves me wondering how the volume a certain water pump can handle is actually measured with regards to different mods doing similar things.

I tried using Aqueous Accumulators with Fluiducts. Good for small towers, but when you start laying down a lot of mirrors, the pipe actually melts into lava because of the heat. The RotaryCraft Pump should be more than sufficient, and as far as I know, the pipe shouldn't melt.

    Hardness of the block

So there's a chart for block hardness for vanilla blocks, but is there a quick way to find out block hardness for custom blocks, maybe in-game with some sort of tool? Or would I have to trawl through the code to find those numbers?

How is the torque required for breaking a block with the Boring Machine determined, and do you have a chart handy for common materials? I'm about to set up some Boring Machines, and I'm trying to figure out how much I should put towards torque to maximize my speed based on the depths I'm mining at.

I'm wondering if this DC engine is perhaps not powerful enough to pump sufficient water into the solar tower because the power is constantly going on/off and the tank seems to empty too fast. Is this indeed the reason? Should I use a more powerful engine to power the pump? Actually I can probably connect back from the battery to power the pump.

You'll definitely be needing more water. You could hook up a few steam engines in a row, redirect the dc powered pump to pump water into those, then junction it together and use a gearbox to up the speed to power another pump leading to your solar tower. Or if you've got power stored in that battery, you could just route that back and it ought to generate more than it uses.

btw, my diamond supply is not happy with the 8 stacks required for a top tier battery.

Use a silk touch book on a boring machine, place it at a low level, send the diamond ores through extractor. Ta-daaaaa, super diamond supply!

the game seems to not be able to keep up with the player moving a hundred blocks a second.

I run into this frequently when zooming around with my Ender IO Staff of Traveling. Teleport too fast and I'll find myself unable to warp for a second while the world loads.

I hate it when mods add mobs, and do not wish to do the same.

Oh, wasn't aware of that. I thought you might have liked it since you made the Void Monster. Do you not like adding monsters in general, or just adding mobs to the regular mob pool? It would only be accessible with an arrangement of each crystal, so if you don't want to bother it, it won't affect you in any way.

Is the Performance Engine supposed to use up its additives even when there's no fuel? I stuck half a stack of blaze powder in there and it disappeared when I came back from a mining trip and tried to process my ores.

Also, I had a neat idea for the crystals. What about a big Crystal Golem you had to fight that, when it hit you, would randomly use one of the Nether effects? It would also do a lot of damage, and thus require having those pendants (or a good stock of potions). When you kill it, it drops one piece of gem armor (or the whole set), and each piece has 3-4 effects on it while also affording diamond level protection. It wouldn't be randomly spawned; I was thinking of having to create a portal using all 16 crystals, so you couldn't just summon it inside of a bedrock box and poke it to death with a bow. Gives a bit of purpose to those pendants, since there's really no challenge once you obtain them unless you have other mods, such as Twilight Forest or Blood Magic.

RotaryCraft has ethanol? Did i miss something?.?

Ethanol Crystals...? You can also turn them into liquid ethanol in a fluid transposer I think.

I am going to replace the blaze rods with gold ingots, as the framing on the pendant is gold, not blaze rod.

Alright. Makes sense, and the final design is up to you anyways.

Is your ethanol compatible with Forestry's ethanol? Was wondering if I could put your ethanol crystals into something like GregTech's Diesel Generator, or if I would first have to run it through some machine to turn it into Forestry ethanol.

Not sure if you saw this. They should be the same thing, unless there's different types of ethanol? I'm not sure if a direct conversion would invalidate Forestry's ethanol, or if you get around the same amount with the same inputs.

Also, I'd like to get started with ElectriCraft; what resources would you recommend I look at? I saw that to control how much energy went out, you had to use resistor color codes, which I'm not familiar with (but will look into), and there might be some other concepts I'll need to know.

Lastly, does anyone have some screenshots of very basic reactor set ups for Reactor Craft? I'm getting to the point where I need a bit more power, but I'm absolutely horrible at constructing these things efficiently just based off of the block's description.

If you can think of a good recipe, yes.

After a bit of thought, multiple crystals didn't sound very feasible since this is a portable pendant and those crystals are one big block. I wanted to incorporate a bit more risk into gathering the resources for it, since the riskiest thing to get was glowstone, which honestly is still very safe and easy to get. This is what I've come up with right now.

I wanted to try and do this with existing items, since good balance is working with what you have instead of creating superfluous parts. I kept the symmetrical design, but now you have to fight tough enemies to get some of the resources. Nether Quartz is about as common as coal, so I replaced that. Glowstone is also plentiful and easy to gather, so I replaced that too. The Eye of Ender has more magical properties than a plain ender pearl, and requires a bit more time spent fighting Blazes, so I used those instead of a basic Ender Pearl. Blaze rods for a similar reason, plus their coloration and shape lends weight to the texture of the pendant. And doubled the diamonds to keep the recipe shape the same while also slightly increasing the cost.

Let me know what you think of it, as well as any criticisms. My main goal is to try and make it so that people will value these pendants more, and not take them for granted.

One, the effect is only tier three.

Also, the last point is somewhat subjective. I'm trying to base it off of how vanilla Minecraft works, and how other mods in general give access to things like this. There's a bit of wiggle room that differs from person to person on how difficult something should be to obtain, which is where we're at odds.

Would having to use multiple crystals to make a pendant work instead? The fact that you can get these crystals in 2-3 hours in a new world if you've got a general idea of what you're doing just doesn't sit right with me.
