If I get my hands on that 1.7.2 version I will test the hell out of it with Optifine for you
I'm gonna assume this will be universal and not just client side since it's in forge right? Even though you got base class edits (that are unavoidable of course)...

Dec 9, 2011Zeridian posted a message on LB Photo Realism, 1.6 convert 7/16/2013. RPG Realism 1.3.1 updated 10/12/2012I'm making custom bump-mapping files for a custom variation of LB right now. It should be easy enough to make a set of normals/specular for default LB after I'm done. Keep in mind some things like chests are no longer on the terrain.png so they won't have bump-mapping as before 1.8.Posted in: Resource Packs
When I'm confident enough in it, I'll upload it for everyone :wink.gif:

Somehow, the lb photorealism texture is too grainy recently and i really don't think this is how it should look. Any ideas?
If you use OptiFine, putting mipmapping on max and set to linear fixes this...especially on x256...

This mod seems to be incompatible with OptiFine,
but now I have HD textures and shaders thanks to MCPatcher
Great work!I love it!
I love your mod so much, but in my case, I can't play without OptiFine since 1.7. I've got a beast of a machine as well, so it's not that.
I really hope that you might consider making this compatible with OptiFine. That would be god-like.

Xeons are server processors. They are very bad for gaming. Besides, dual processors are used in servers 99% of the time and there are no games optimized for them. I guess you can blame Notch, but at the rate people are asking for updates combined with the size of Mojang, they cant really appeal to the extreme minority.
Dude, it works perfect with about everything out there I've tried. I don't mind if it's not optimized for it, I just want it to work for Christ's sake. Besides, I have this same issue on my other AMD dual-core and quad-core set-ups. I actually blame Java more than Notch.
Sep 22, 2011I've got an HD4870, 4GB RAM, and two Quad-Core 2.7Ghz xeon processors and ever since 1.7.3 I only manage max 30fps on default minecraft. I used to be able to run 128x HD packs buttery smooth but since that update now its crapping out at 1-2fps. Sometimes this mod fixes it, sometimes it doesn't but it's getting on my nerves and I hope Notch takes an update between now and November to dedicate to performance optimization and adaptability. I have a feeling something he did in 1.7 hurt how minecraft handles dual processors.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Jul 12, 20111.7.3 totally effed up the game for me. I mean, I got a 8-core 3.2Ghz with a HD4870 and 4Gb's of RAM and by God it ran awesome with 128x texture packs before I came back for the update after a 2 month hiatus. It went from 120+ fps to 0-6. Vanilla was way higher and now is down to 30-40fps. I can't even begin to tell you how many ways I've tried to fix it. I like my mods and I like my HD texture packs, I literally can't play without them but I decided to compromise once I remembered this particular mod.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Miraculously it fixed the issue and the frame-rate went back up to perfection (I even wrote down the options I had set just in case) but the trade off was no Modloader and no Wildgrass. Eh, whatever. I decided to keep experimenting though, because I wanted to see if I could narrow it down from there and fix it without the mod. Well, I had to end up coming back to this and my 128x texture combo. Problem is: It's not working anymore. I'm not asking for any help or anything, personally I've completely given up with the volatile performance of Minecrafts recent code. I just wanna know if anyone else is experiencing these massive frame-rate-ratio drops.
More On Topic: Awesome mod, definitely solves tons of issues with the crazy performance ranges.

There were some old mods that did it and they haven't been updated and are abandoned. **** I would love you. My war room would be so legit with red lighting. I'd also make a "Glowstick" texture pack for the hell of it.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
