    The floor should be included.

    If you want to have N such working contraptions of size M stacked on top of each other, each in-between floor required to make each contraption work will have to be counted as well. N contraptions on top of each other measures NxM.


    Same for walls.

    An easy way to power NxN floor pistons simultaneously, that is, something as simple as simply a block that transfers power to all its neighbors, so if you place NxN such blocks below NxN pistons, and power the blocks, all the pistons go.

    The game is really weird an inconsistent now in making a ceiling piston grid easy and a floor piston grid hard. Simple things should be simple.

    I suggest the "copper" block and a copper ore for this :) (but actually expected the redstone block to behave like this, but that one became something different)

    Probably you guys don't know about this, but the OP is not just suggesting to copy features from another game. He's suggesting to add the WORST features there are from another game, and I'm pretty sure the OP is aware of that:

    -squeel of fortune: imagine a happy goblin dancing around in Minecraft popping up everywhere asking you to pay real life money to get items in Minecraft
    -Solomons general store: imagine Minecraft no longer getting any gameplay updates. Instead, from now on, all news on the mojang website will be about how they have something new for sale in their real life money store. Accidently clicking certain things in Minecraft will close the game without warning and open your web browser at the store.
    -Evolution of Combat: imaging a new update in Minecraft in which combat gets so complex and elaborate that it's no longer fun and natural

    I haven't installed any snapshot myself, and am just wondering, how well do BUDs work in the redstone update?

    How can you detect if plants have grown for automated farming after the restone update?

    I think that *waiting* for farming crops to grow is a nice part of the game.

    It's fun to start with few wheats, and gradually, over the days, grow your field to massive proportions.

    I always like it in games when you start with little, and gradually grow. But if it can go to fast, then there isn't a correct balance of patience vs reward anymore.

    That is also why I like starting Minecraft on a lonely island in the sea with nothing but a tree and a few grass blades.

    So if the reason of the bonemeal nerf is to have more slow paced farming, then personally, I'm for it.

    Really dissapointed about the redstone block :(

    I really would like a block that conducts in all directions. To make a grid of floor pistons reasonable to control. It should be easy, not hard, to control a grid of pistons that all go up at the same time. Simple things should be simple, complex things fun and complex. But having simple things overly complex (the wiring required just to make 5x5 floor pistons go up at the same time) is stupid.

    All I want is a way to wire a floor-grid of pistions in a simple way. Simple blocks that conduct on all 6 sides.

    It is outrageous that you need a huge contraption simply to wire a 5x5 grid of pistions on the floor pointing up with the intention to make them all move up at the same time.

    Simple things like this should be simple.

    Complex things should be complex.

    About BUDs: why are some people suggesting "BUD"-pistons and "BUD"-less pistons? There is no reason why a BUD should be a piston... Just a simple block, like a detector, would be more clean imho. They could do different kinds for different types of updates though...
