When you extract from a .rar or .zip, sometimes it'll make a second folder. This results in the world save being in another folder. The correct directory should look like this:
%appdata% > minecraft > saves > Funland > (Region.dat, player.dat and other files in that folder)
And NOT like this:
%appdata% > minecraft > saves > Funland > Funland > (Region.dat, player.dat and other files in that folder)
Gold is actually a semi-useful ore. You can use it for Golden Apples, Clocks, Powered Rails, Brewing Health Potions and Aesthetics. (Crafting armor and tools out of gold is pointless however.)
Not to be the negative one here, but it sucks how Golden Apples are nerfed.
On the bright side, its great to have plenty of golden carrots!
And gold picks are extremely useful when you are just mining stone, or digging something underground out. You don't need a STRONG pick, but rather a bunch of FAST picks. Get a few gold picks and you can mine stone very fast.

Run a minecraft server on port 443, it's the port SSL uses and will get around most 'dumb' filters.
Yeah, Most the servers I want to play on are NOT on these ports. They aren't private servers. I know we have tons of LAN servers at school, but thats only because its hosted on the network.
I would really like to get rid of this bloody filter. It is very intrusive and I can't even do what I want at home. Pretty sure removing the filter "violates" the computer agreement.
Alright, so I am not sure if this is the right place to post this topic, but I'm having some issues. Alright so every student at our school this year got assigned MacBook Airs. Me being a windows fan have had time to get used to the computer and enjoy it. It was recently I discovered that almost everything on it is blocked. Facebook, Twitter etc and I'm not even a teen who goes on that much. So I get home and I realize the web filter isn't just on the school network - its installed onto the computer itself! Most likely through a proxy. Either way, coincidence or not, I found that every Minecraft (Well I play Tekkit but whatever) server I connect to gets a time out/Operation failed error! Is there any way I can bypass these filters?
The actual proxy settings are blocked as well - I can't change them either.
