I haven't posted on the forums in quite some time, but I just started up a new world with large biomes and spawned on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean with only one tree. I thought perhaps this would interest others, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has never played survival island until now. I just wish there were some reeds.

****. What's not to like? I have one criticism, however. I feel you use just slightly too much stone-type blocks. I would have used a bit more variation in the construction. Occaisonal log support pillars, gravel pathways (that's the only thing I use gravel for, personally), wooden roofs, and other stuff.
that's because it circles the world... just as the sun does... the moon will be visible under the world during the day, and the sun should be visible under the world during the night. You only will see that in superflat though, because it has no void fog unlike normal worlds.
It isn't in the middle of an ocean? How strange. And amazing.
EDIT: I tested and it works, I've never seen a mushroom biome so close to a spawn before! The mushroom biome does appear to be in the middle of an ocean, but there is a tiny grass island practically touching the mushroom biome that you spawn on. This is awesome!
This is also the biggest mushroom biome I've ever seen!
ONE MORE EDIT: I found a few tiny grass islands on the other side of the mushroom biome with some trees. So basically this is the best seed ever for any who hasn't experienced mushroom biomes thoroughly. Also, there is a hole in the ocean floor near the tree islands that leads to an unbelievably deep chasm/abyss/ravine, whatever you want to call it.
