Okay, after completely removing everything from the minecraft file, and redownloading minecraft, than installing the needed version of Forge, and Optifine (wanted to use 128 textures), I tried installing Thaumcraft again, and now it works.
Is it necessary to remove everything and reinstall when you update to a new forge version?
Not sure about always, but if you use optifine, yes. Optifine is more trouble than it's worth.

Exactly. And have you used it? It's not useless. Even getting minium stones is helpful. (I cheat for philosophers). EE2 is just overpowered. You could just set the durability to -1, and you'd have an infinite minium stone (or philosophers, the durability isn't infinite yet).
Now, I downloaded the FTB launcher and have been having great fun with it, and loved the experience I had with Thaumcraft there. So, I decided to download Thaumcraft 3 for a pure expereince. Anyways, I got Forge installed, and no other mods as of yet. I went to download and intsall Thaumcraft, using the video in the main post, yet when I go to try it, I get this message:

I remove Thaumcraft from the mod folder and it works again. Any clue as to whats happening?
Never mind my last post. I just updated my MC to 1.5.1 and I got the books.
I got another problem though... It's weird, but all of the ores are sort of replaced now. For example, now that blue nether ore isn't in the nether anymore. Instead, I see casting basins in its place. Yes, it's weird. It's like now, instead of ores, I see a bunch of tables or cauldrons on the walls and floors. Would anyone happen to know why this is happening? Thanks!
When you update a version, ids can change. You should just delete the world, or teleport far, far away, where the chunks have not loaded. The casting basin took cobalt's id, and cobalt got a new one. All of the cobalt in pre-genned chunks, will be casting basins. As with the other ores.
Well, that's gonna bum out the players on our server, as we freaking love the mod by itself. We'll have to remove it entirely (and don't say anything about 1.5.1, that's the modpack author's choice, not mine.)
Already this is a bad mark for mDiyo, of whom I had high respect for.
You don´t have to use a modpack, you could just manually do it. (Most mods are 1.5.1 by now, or are at least in beta.)
I noticed in NEI that the philosophers stone is still in the code even though there is no recipe for it, are you intending to implement it in some way in the future? Perhaps as a very late game upgrade from the minium stone, by cafting it with a netherstar or some similar.

Question for mDiyo: We've got a 1.4.7 server with a modpack that includes the latest 1.4.7 release of TConstruct. We've been noticing some odd things with it that can only be replicated in multiplayer, as my testing showed that it works just fine in singleplayer. Can you point us in the right direction as to where our server admin should start looking to fix this?
The bugs are basically patterns disappearing when interacting with a Table GUI, and only the Grout & Seared Bricks/Blocks for the Smeltery being available.

My apologies if this has recently been asked:
In 1.3.0 you completely changed how worldgen worked to reward exploration over mining, is this configurable? I could see a lot of potential conflicts arising from completely changing worldgen (as many a mod has shown). If it is configurable (or disableable) then there is no problem, and no conflict... but if you have no options for it then you may experience people shying away in favor of their favorite mod packs. (i.e. I don't think you want to make this an isolated mod--similar to Better Than Wolves)
By the way, I love the concept, I'm just waiting for a little more maturity before adding this mod (i.e. time, features, bug fixes), but I've already tried an earlier version.

Oh yeah, I forgot I did that. There's another mob with no normal drops that has them, and one mob with a very rare extra drop. The last one is what I meant. But by very rare I mean something like 0.05% chance so good luck.
Yeah, we're aware of the slime problem - we might make it so autospawned slimes are always size 1. I'm debating disabling melon/pumpkin seeds but I think I'll wait till the 1.6 update to do it since that will break people's stuff.
Every time I think I'm done someone tells me of a new problem. Now apparently UE wires burst into flames and you can use the BC parts to generate an infinite loop. Beta is available on the jenkins linked in the OP, though.

Test it on the Enderdragon, the crystals,and maybe the wither. I don't know how catching an Enderdragon would work tho. Or maybe charged creepers. They're perfect for Easter eggs cause they're so rare.
Edit: oh, btw, is making cooked meat blocks supposed to be infinite? Cause 9 meat-ingots (cooked) turns into 4 blocks, and 1 block turns into 9 meat-gots.
Yup, I'm using 3.04c with forge #667 installed, the only other mod I have installed on the server is Twilight Forest but I even tried uninstalling that to see if it had any effect, but no go...I even tried updating to the most recent version of forge (#675) and still nothing.

It's not the really rare drop one tho.
It's grinding up ocelots into fish.
Edit: seems like string is dropped too.
