It was like first person legos.

Survival wasn't around yet. Still played it.

To be honest, I hope torches don't become finite. Some things shouldn't be sacrificed for realism. Personally I don't think it's fun having to remake and replace all your torches whenever you walk down a long tunnel. I do encourage different sources of light, however, perhaps making torches less bright or making lamp post that cover twice the distance with light.

Meh. Maybe some things are just meant for single player. I don't see how it would harm anyone to have air ships and alternate methods of transportation like them. I rather enjoy the idea of having the freedom to make cool things like that in minecraft...

Wow, good idea. Perhaps we should make another thread that says, "Don't make any mistakes, Notch" or "Only add good content". -____-.

If I remember correctly Notch was going to eventually release the source code, correct? (I could be entirely wrong, but I'm pretty sure he said this). Anyway, when that happens I'm sure all sorts of mods will pop up. Most likely one like this will arise.

Not gonna read all of it...

No. Tnt is hard enough to get.

Notch said there will be land control flags. I assume he'll have the foresight to make TNT unplacable or something in someone's land.

posted a message on A few holes in logic here
Oh ok, let's talk about physics. First and foremost, we're all associated with why the world is a sphere right? Because gravity pulls in all directions? Now, realize that we're in the minecraft universe, a place where for some reason gravity does not attract in all directions, giving us some weird cubic shape. Not only that, but minecraft clearly defies laws for equal and opposite reactions, as well as the law that states that matter or energy can not be created or destroyed. So here's my theory-

Minecraft has no gravity, we're going to call it something else... Let's go with, THE NOTCH FORCE. This explains why the dead come back to life, everything is cube shaped, exploding mutated pigs wonder the mineiverse, and yes- why islands float without the assistance of some sort of support. Questions?

It's not infinite, it's only 8x the surface of the Earth. For $45,000,000,000 you could easily get a super cluster capable of running a err... Well a large portion of it! :biggrin.gif:

posted a message on Offence is easier than defence = not good
I believe the currently proposed tool to protect from griefing is the land claim tags, which in its own is a great idea. With the "brute force" element eliminated the players can focus on more intricate designs to protect their items. For instance, if a player can not destroy blocks you own, there is no way for him to break into a iron door without going through whatever process is required to open it. If you're good with red stone dust you can create a combo lock or trap that will either thwart the thief's attempts or get them killed. I'm assuming that many people will flock together, making makeshift village kind of things so it's easier to defend them selves from lone invaders. Those who chose to stay alone will of course encounter problems with griefers or w/e, but I suppose it'll be part of the fun. I've herd plenty of creative suggestions from my friends, such as having a house very deep underground where it's unlikely to be found.

We'll find a way to prevent disaster, and if there is no way, then Notch will implement one. He's proved him self to be quite the competent developer already.

Could Notch not make an input form during ship creation where the player changes the boat to the parameters they desire?

The face of the map is 8x the size of the surface of the Earth, although I'm not sure how it functions with the underground layers.

    So here's my question-

Can an entity with undefined (or default) characteristics be created, and then defined (or changed) later through the use of some sort of input form? If not, I'm out of ideas >.>

(IE, could you have the height set to variable "X" and then have "X" later filled in by the player.)
