Tempted to make a new rendition of this thread... The curators are allowing this one to gather dust!

It's natural to see discussion quieten down when there's less people around to discuss less things. Looking at the past few pages I see calls for updates to the OP, but the OP of a massive post like this has historically been ignored anyway - when I was a contributor to it a while back it was more about maintaining the formatting so that it didn't break under the strain of BBCode more than anything else. Discussion is fuelled by people to submit comments and subject matter to comment on, and that's just in lesser supply right now.

That being said, there's nothing stopping you from upping and starting a new thread under your own account anyway, or reaching out to Fangride through Skype/Twitter (Drago seems quite dead) to obtain the login details to the CTMCommunity account.

I might give it an update when I have time, but by the time it'd be finished the LPers should have cleared the area, and the only reason I have for updating it at this point is so it's nicer on camera. Otherwise it functions fine (except for the removal of void fog >:L)

    To all:

Please don't ever do this again. Who is 22857? Who is 22864? I don't know, and I don't care enough to find out. Use the Quote button like everyone else.

EDIT: Or refer to them by name if you can't be bothered copy-pasting the quotes from each post before writing novels on the forum.

People don't leave, they just hiate (is hiate a word? I feel it should be)

Apparently it isn't. Guess we're stuck with "they just go on hiatuses".

It's more functional. Visually, it's about on the same level as the old one.

Unfortunately the Go to first unread button has been swallowed up in the update. It's on the list of things to be fixed apparently, but until then the update is in fact less functional. (unless a plethora of new features have been added that I just missed)

I will chime in by saying that, judging by what I've seen of TR so far, your area is gonna need to be real good to blend in with the areas they're already got. Throwing together a frankenstein of a bunch of your old areas isn't gonna be good enough to get close to matching some of the areas at freaking Intersection 1.

still as brushstrok-y as ever. has the guy posted in this thread recently or has he still left because he can't handle anything that isn't a hugbox?

I'm pretty sure that once he left here he never came back.

I hate to say it, but it is very likely you are screwed. I hope you were keeping backups.

You'll need to decide on 1) how confident you are when it comes to technology - specifically, performing a potential hardware repair yourself, and 2) how valuable the data is. If the data is extremely valuable [and maybe you not confident with a repair], it's off to a drive recovery professional you go. Their services are very expensive, and of course not guaranteed, but it's the best shot at getting some data back.

If you're feeling confident, it's time to attempt to recover the data yourself. I found one article via Google that may help - http://lifehacker.com/5982339/diy-data-recovery-tricks-for-when-your-hard-drive-goes-belly-up - but it'll be up to you to research your problem and take the steps necessary to fix it (although it may get to the point where the repair requires access to a clean room).

If the data isn't valuable (i.e. not worth spending the potentially very hefty cost of repair) and you're not confident, it's game over.

Remember, always keep backups. Hard drives are more prone to failure compared to other parts.

Okay I guess I need to click Quote instead of Reply ... why does the Reply button exist then?
