So, I'm fully aware that the updates have official effed up Minecraft
-Water ladders do not work
-Water elevators are a fail
-Boosters do nothing
-Etc
So, anyways I can work around this? I absolutly need a way to go up and down vertically :mellow.gif:
I'll break down my answers with the help of my friend, Mr. Bulleted List!
- Water Elevators
Too bad, so sad.
- Vertical transportation
Pistons will come conveniently pre-packaged with every download of the upcoming 1.7 patch, which will open up all sorts of opportunities for new methods of vertical transportation.
- Boosters
Powered rails. Use them.
I think that covers all the bases. Don't you agree, Mr. List?

Welcome to the Internet.
It isn't just an age thing, although that may be a factor.
Have you ever watched reality television? Have you ever read the comments on a popular youtube video? Have you ever overheard a conversation on the bus?
These are the people who run those servers. They are douchebags, and they are everywhere. Not all humans are garbage, that may be true, but one should not be surprised to discover that when an asshole is given anonymity, a keyboard, and any power whatsoever, he will inevitably become an even greater asshole, and dominate those who generally just don't give that much of a ****. It's something you must be used to by now.

Easy. LAN.
Or don't give out your server IP publicly. Never had anyone I didn't know log on to my server. And my friends aren't dipshits, so there's no griefing.
SOLVED.

However, there are two problems with your argument that I can see right out of the gate.
1. The PC version is not being supplanted. It is being supplemented. That means that you can buy and play either the PC verson or the Xbox version, at your personal discretion. They will be (as far as one can tell from available information) practically identical, aside from some possible interface differences involved in the porting process. I don't entirely understand why porting Minecraft to another platform constitutes hypocrisy. I don't believe there is any substantiated evidence to support this being a bad thing.
2. Your style of argument is wholly inflammatory and disregards not only a smattering of forum rules, but violates basic tact and common sense. If you have some evidence, based on a precident that even remotely validates your claims, we would all be happy to hear them in a civilized discussion of the subject. But thus far, you have only succeeded in illustrating your own ignorance and poor etiquette. Please illuminate this topic for us, so that we may understand your viewpoint, or stop trying altogether. It is embarrasing for us all.

The thing that "pushed" Notch to implement them was feedback from the community, and a steady course of development. Terraria takes almost everything in its "creative" repetoire from Minecraft design, plans, and development blogs.

Oh okay. So you just have no idea what I'm talking about. That's fine.
Aside from that, I guess if you've never been in a beta test before, this might be a little shocking to you. But truth be told, games usually get a pretty rough shake-up whenever new features are added. It comes with bugs, yes. They do fix them. The last stages of Beta are usually just housekeeping. And if boat elevators and glitch boosters are any indication, there will be an unholy outrage when that happens. It's the way of the world.
While they lasted, I suppose. But buying a game just for the sake of breaking it isn't really my idea of fun in the long run.

Chunk loading bugs? Can you describe how you... made use of these?

Oh really? I'm impressed. We seem to have a Jedi in our midst.
There are some new bugs, and they will likely get ironed out in time. If they give you so much grief, set it aside for a while in the meantime. This the way the cycle of updates works. In every game. Maybe you've been living in the cave for the last fifteen years, but that's pretty much the way everything works. If something can possibly go wrong, it will. And if someone improves something, it will inevitably cause new and horrifying problems.
There are a lot of integral changes to the code this update, so I'm not surprised. If you're so dissatisfied, how the hell did you become interested in the first place? There have been boundless improvements since Alpha.

If it bothers you so much, stop playing and get over it.
