All the maps are saved to the "mods/XaeroWorldMap" folder which you can share with anyone (I just packed a huge 230mb map into a 12mb zip file). You can even share only a part of a map: if you turn debug on and look at the coordinates second from top then these numbers represent the .xaero file name to which that region is saved to.
Having live sharing would be cool as hell though.
Ahh interesting worth noting. I'll have to poke at it when I get the chance. But yeah having a way to fill in blank spots on your map from someone else's or be able to update certain parts based on what is newer would be a nice. Yeah live sharing would be sweet.
As far as the Multiplayer share is concerned even if it weren't a live thing, it would still be very useful. Maybe like an Import/Export system, where we can share the files manually and then import them to merge it with my own or something. Or maybe like a Server side counter part that generates a map so we can see what others explored. Who knows?
I really want to drop Journeymap support in favor of your world map since I prefer your minimap but there are a few features that journey has that I wish/hope would be in yours.
-Saving the map to a single png so I can share it.
-Seeing my waypoints marked on it. (also a way to click on the map to create a waypoint)
And one thing Id like to see that neither does, is a way to share/merge my map with others on my server.
(Sorry if you have these features already I haven't had a chance to test it yet)
I've downloaded the latest version "Xaeros_Minimap_1.10.2.1_Forge_1.10.2.jar" yet I'm still getting prompted to download the latest version on launch. Just an FYI =)
It looks like the latest version of Forge broke a good few mods, including other really popular ones like Inventory Tweaks. I just switched back to an older version.
Actually, making mods by modifying the code directly is somewhat easier than using Forge (Forge has it's limits). It's still extra work though + what you said about the conflicts makes it impractical. There's also one thing. MCP (http://www.modcoderpack.com/website/releases), which is basically what Forge is built on is not even updated to 1.9 yet :D. Meaning I would have to decompile and translate Minecraft myself (no thanks).
Ah yeah that's what I meant, it being impractical in the long run. I was working on a mod back in 1.25 - 1.7 days but was never really able to get it to the point where I liked it because of how much source code I needed to change to get it to work. Forge was pretty new back then still and didn't really have the hooks or access to the code I wanted, made it really difficult to use for what I wanted. Plus there was a lot more frequent updates back then, made it hell to try to keep everything updated.
* Fixed game crash when using Realms.
* Fixed entity dots not being rendered correctly.
* Fixed incorrent colours of some blocks (for example, double grass).
Thank you for quick response and this awesome mod. But i believe you can do it... because there will be people who doesn't want to install forge. Anyway, have a nice day, i will wait for it then.
As the mod maker put, it really isn't that simple. Without actual modding support from Mojang, Forge is an incredibly handy tool. Without out it, it would take much much much longer to update as well as an incredible amount of work to keep supporting a mod. You would then have to start worrying about conflicts with other mods. Unless modding is like your full time job, its really not worth the time and effort for the mod maker.
I know exactly what's causing the crash but it's difficult to explain.
You can try disabling the minimap in the settings, connect to the realms server and then reenable the minimap. Let me know if this works.
Unfortunately it looks like the same thing happen. Took a scan through the log file but it looks basically the same. It crashes before I have a chance to do anything even with the map disabled.
By chance, do you have an idea what might be causing the crash? Is there something I can disable in the settings file? It seems to work in single player but when I connect to the Realm server it loads for a second and then crashes.
I have a mod that I have been working on in my spare time for a year or so now. Just minecraft always updates before its ready. Saw the post mentioned you should use sponges. Just my 2 cents, I made them spawn on the ocean floor using a reverse glowstone generation. It looks pretty cool and I think it would go well with your mod. Only thing is I made the sponges glow slightly else they cannot be seen on the ocean floor. Anyways it looks pretty cool sort of like coral.
Cant wait for 1.6.2 support! I cant play minecraft without your mod anymore
Here is my ChunkProviderGenerate. It works for me, but I know some changes will need to be made for it to work for you. Compare this to the original and you should be good.
Its been a while since I uploaded this, but it should get you going in the right direction. There is more editing for caves, ores, etc. but thats really easy.
Thanks that helped alot I still have some issues such as it skips full rows of generation amongst other things. Probably my own fault for not studying it more carefully but it looks like it will take more time to get something exceptable that I feel worth it atm. Plus its gotten way too laggy with my current set up in order to debug. But I will definitely study this for a maybe future update.

=) cant wait to see what you come up with.
