Not sure what to tell you, as the medafire download is a zip file containing the world save folder. You should just have to extract the file and add it to your saves folder.

posted a message on Tetris in Minecraft!
Just as the title says, I've created Tetris in Minecraft! I used the NES version of the game as my main inspiration, and then added in some extra features at the end. The video below showcases the build and all of the main features.

This build includes all of the following:

From the NES Version of the game -
    10x20 Pixel Screen
    Random Piece Generation
Score Keeping ("Original Nintendo Scoring System" is the formula I used in the game)
    Level Counting
Sliding under pieces and t-spins work if timed correctly

    Extra Features -
    Hide Next Piece (Hard Mode)
    Skip Piece (debugging)
Piece Selection and Score Manipulation (Cheat Mode)
    Preset Games

This was originally made in 1.4.7 and I've just recently finished patching it for 1.5. I worked on this on and off for about a month, then had to spend another few days patching it after the 1.5 update.

posted a message on Tetris! (1.4.7, updated map coming soon)
I've created, to the best of my abilities, the NES version of Tetris. This means it has a full 10x20 pixel display, line and level counting, and accurate scoring. This was made in 1.4.7, so none of the new redstone blocks were used. Hope you enjoy!

    Scoring -
This game uses the same scoring system as the NES version of tetris. You can find information here: http://tetris.wikia.com/wiki/Scoring
Look for the section titled "Original Nintendo scoring system".

    Known Bugs -
There are two game breaking bugs that I chosen to leave in.

-The first is that you must get off the soft drop ~3 lines before the piece lands. If you do not, the piece will fall off the screen and will not be saved to memory. To remove this, I would have had to make a 2nd detection system with different criteria. It seemed like more trouble than it was worth.

-Stacked pieces to not have side detection. That is to say, you can move a piece into the side of other pieces unlike in any other version of tetris. This would again need a new detection system that was quite rigorous to fix. However, this bug does allow you to slide pieces under one another without issue, as seen in the video. Because of that, I never even considered removing this bug.

    Two borrowed concepts:

Cubehamster's "redcoder" - I used this in the control room for the preset selection and the piece selection. Both needed 7 wires between the mess of redstone and the control room, so the redcoder saved a lot of space.

Codecrafted's binary RNG - As far as pre 1.5 RNGs go, codecraft's version using dispensers and buckets is by far my favorite. I used a 3 bit RGN for the piece generation, having 0 go back into the RGN input as there are 7 pieces, not 8.

This was made by me (IGN: Z_Millla) using just world edit on the Shadecrest Creative Server. A big thanks to everyone there, as they are an amazing community. www.shadecrest.com for additional information.

    World Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?83usv8sqmtphtmn
Important: THIS WORLD DOWNLOAD ONLY WORKS ON 1.4.7, NOT 1.5!
I will release a new world download later on for 1.5. However, this will not be done until after the server I play on updates. Be patient or downgrade to try out the map.

    Quote from LiwenDiamond

Redstone can't be made to look pretty

I'm sorry, but I think you are flat out wrong. :P

I have an idea for you; build underground. Like you, I've always been very interested in redstone, and wanted a practical way to use it. At the same time, I wanted very nice looking builds and for redstone to never look bulky or in the way. The obvious issue with combining good builds and redstone is hiding the wiring all the time. To avoid this issue, I just built primarily underground. I would still have a nice house on the surface, but my focus was always on making an extravagant underground base. You have infinite space to work with and can build around areas where you will need to be hiding a lot of wiring for the more complex stuff. It does obviously take a bit more work in survival, but I feel the outcome is well worth it.

Also I have an idea for your castle gate if you still want to make a fancy piston door for no reason. I recently made a 2x2 door that can appear in a wall of fences. It is 100% seamless and all of the redstone is underground. I realize it doesn't have the same effect as a portcullis for a castle build, but it would allow you to incorporate a piston door without the issue exposes/bulky redstone above ground. .

Hope you don't give up on redstone and perhaps give underground building a try. Regardless, just do what is most fun!

posted a message on Toggleable, Variable, 5x5x3 Rapid Clock—Can you compact more?
As far as clocks go, I've never found a reason to use anything but this design:

You can add a lever to literally any place on any of the wool blocks to make it toggleable. You can likewise change the blocks around to make it easily expandable and add any number of repeaters like so:

You can make this toggleable by adding a lever to any wool block that doesn't have a repeater on it. Hope this helps!

posted a message on 2x2 Seamless Glass Hipster Door
Just as the title says, I've recently made a 2x2 seamless glass hipster door. This means you can have a 2x2 glass door within a solid glass wall and still have no pistons/redstone exposed when the door is open or closed. The redstone is currently 16x16x7, but still has potential to be compacted more. I did optimize the door for speed though. It could be possible to shave off a few tics on the speed, but no door with the same specs will be substantially faster than this. Hope you all enjoy!

Just try adjusting your video settings until you see a reduction in this happening. Specifically, try changing the Chunk Loading setting, as well as the settings under performance. No guarantee this will work, but it has helped my friends clear up graphics issues in the past. Best of luck.

No, the server is not looking for staff. If the server does ever need new staff, they select players who have been on the server a while, know all the rules, get along with the community, and who are eager to help the place improve. We would never promote new/unknown players to staff.
