posted a message on World vanished, 8 year old daughter is heartbroken!

As everybody has been saying, world saves in mcpe (Minecraft: Pocket Edition) currently get easily corrupted.

Although it must be very painful for your daughter, there is virtually no way to get a corrupt world that hasn't been backed up usable again.

Possible reasons for the corruption: Game crash, World save bug (in old versions and maybe new ones, this could be prevented by quitting to title before exiting the world), Corruption due to large world size or low device capabilities (if you could post your device name and OS, we could come up with future ways of protection).

Future ways to prevent this: Backup your worlds frequently. This can be achieved on Android by going to Internal Storage/ games/ com.mojang/ MinecraftWorlds/ <World Name> and copying the folder that appears with a file manager. And on iOS by navigating to the folder with iFunbox. After installing and opening the app, follow the steps here>>「Managing App Data」→「All My Apps」→「Click to Show All」→[ Minecraft PE ]→Documents→games→com.mojang→minecraftWorlds >> and copy the folder.)

Wait for future updates: These bugs are getting fixed as soon as they appear, and within a year, any bug you post on the Bug Tracker should be fixed!

    Hope this helps!

Are you saying that 0.12.1 is already out on FireOS? or are you surprised that mcpe is on FireOS?

I'm guessing the former, but could you at least say "the update" instead of "it"?

The thing is, you don't even have to know about minecon to know about redstone if you stalk the devs' tweets. I'll post more stuff once the 0.12.x post is done.

posted a message on Pocket Edition isn't in Alpha anymore

    >> sheradrax

You seem to be the only one who really gets this whole system, but here's a bit of info from this link.

Top 13 Differences between Alpha and Beta Testing (Field Testing)

    Alpha Testing

    Beta Testing (Field Testing)

    1. It is always performed by the developers at the software development site.

    1. It is always performed by the customers at their own site.

    2. Sometimes it is also performed by Independent Testing Team.

    2. It is not performed by Independent Testing Team.

    3. Alpha Testing is not open to the market and public

    3. Beta Testing is always open to the market and public.

    4. It is conducted for the software application and project.

    4. It is usually conducted for software product.

    5. It is always performed in Virtual Environment.

    5. It is performed in Real Time Environment.

    6. It is always performed within the organization.

    6. It is always performed outside the organization.

    7. It is the form of Acceptance Testing.

    7. It is also the form of Acceptance Testing.

    8. Alpha Testing is definitely performed and carried out at the developing organizations location with the involvement of developers.

    8. Beta Testing (field testing) is performed and carried out by users or you can say people at their own locations and site using customer data.

    9. It comes under the category of both White Box Testing and Black Box Testing.

    9. It is only a kind of Black Box Testing.

    10. Alpha Testing is always performed at the time of Acceptance Testing when developers test the product and project to check whether it meets the user requirements or not.

    10. Beta Testing is always performed at the time when software product and project are marketed.

    11. It is always performed at the developer’s premises in the absence of the users.

    11. It is always performed at the user’s premises in the absence of the development team.

    12. Alpha Testing is not known by any other different name.

12 Beta Testing is also known by the name Field Testing means it is also known as field testing.

    13. It is considered as the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) which is done at developer’s area.

    13. It is also considered as the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) which is done at customers or users area.

So we are "beta testing" but the app isn't officially called a "beta build".

I'm just gonna tell you before everyone else starts saying it, but it's "exciting" not "exiting".

"exiting" means getting out of somwhere.

    Sorry if it's a typo.

    Thanks for the consideration everyone.

I myself was surprised when I first saw that the versions were called "alpha"s and I'm happy to see that I wasn't alone.

However, this is a pretty annoying issue and I'll try to alert the devs or raise awareness through twitter or something.

    Thanks,

Lol. I have the exact same problem with my sister.

She was surprised when I made her a few diamond tools with her diamonds (and she only had those because I smelted her iron and made her the pickaxe).

What I try to do is teach her whatever she doesn't know, and once I have enough time, I'm planning on making a tutorial for total noobs and/or sharing it on these forums.

Having a newbie next to you when you're just about to go finish your enderpearl farm can be annoying, and I bet it's stressful for everyone, but all we can do is sit and play with them patiently.

However, if the stress is really getting to you, consider showing your cousin a few youtube videos or tell her that the Minecraft Wiki is a thing.

I really hope you overcome this challenge like I'm trying to.

Although I don't necessarily agree with the idea of piracy, if your pirated version is the problem, here are some options that might give you a better apk:

    1. Download Onemobile Market as an apk and then download mcpe from the market.

    2. Join some kind of google+ community that says minecraft pe 4 free or something.

However, it may be your phone that is the problem. Nokia X seems to be using a custom ui/launcher that is layed over the normal android system.

There is no knowing what kind of problems this could cause.

I can give only a small amount of advice since I just started learning about Nokia phones, but I'll try to help if you try the above two options and fail.

    Aaaaaahhhh, that thing.

Sorry, on my pc f3 brings up the hud and esc brings up the normal menu so I was a bit confused.

And yes, you need mods to get coordinates and block light levels.

"/setgroup (player) (rank)" can be used on Leet servers, but you haven't given us enough info.

plugins, host, player count, whitelist? There is much more you can tell us.

    >> Littleman7

They are saying that "This isn't the main channel", which is like saying "this is a sub-channel".

They may know they're fake, but some people aren't able to figure this out. There are actually a number of people who don't get that these people are fake and post links on these forums as "proof" for their speculations.

Therefore, it is completely logical to think that the necessity of the existence of this thread is pretty great.

    What is your device name?

Please note that phones with the ARMv6 architecture do not support mcpe.

The only Nokia devices I know that support mcpe are the Nokia N9, Nokia N900, Nokia X, Nokia X+, NokiaXL.

The rest are known to have multiple bugs.

If your game has not been pirated and if the textures have not been changed in any way, there is a possibility that your device is simply incompatible.

Compatibility isn't always what it seems to be. :P
