For a different enchanting method see my post on 5-6-14 at 6:53pm, there is a mod you can add that solves most enchanting problems.
will try to quote my own post here so you wont have to scroll back and find it.

I've known about that mod for quite a while now, but that mod makes enchanting too easy, which is why I don't use it.
I don't mind an alternative way of enchanting that's easier, but it shouldn't become too easy

Definitely understandable. I'll have to look into this. Maybe I could make some custom book that is guaranteed to get a reading enchantment. I almost could use my own style of enchanting table. I know that has been kind of talked about before and I've thought about it. I'll put some thought into this and see if I can come up with a solution to made getting the reading enchant a bit easier. I made it somewhat rare just because I know I would be annoyed myself if every other couple books I enchanted popped out a reading enchantment. There is a fine line between too much and not enough with these kinds of things. So maybe an alternate way of getting it would be more ideal.

I agree on that, getting certain enchants too often that are not really worthwhile to get all the time. having it so you can get the enchant through a different type of enchanting does really sound more interesting then what I suggested, especially as vanilla enchanting often isn't really that attractive to use, so if there was perhaps another way of enchanting, to get certain enchants, that would really be more interesting

would it be possible with the auto anvil to have a ghost item appear in the output slot that'd be the output product of combining items in the anvil? I'm asking this because sometimes when I combine books in the auto anvil, the output isn't a book of the next level, thus wasting materials and experience, but if I could see beforehand if the anvil would actually produce the output that I want or not I could save on materials

would it be possible, when you craft the glasses, the glasses automatically receive the reading enchant?
I know the glasses already give you that ability, but it's a very annoying enchant to get on a book, so if I could take the enchant of the glasses that already came with it, I'm able to put the reading enchant on other helmets

No they don't. You don't need to place the torch -IN- the smeltery. Just place them on the top layer surface. I've only had one tall smeltery before. What I did for that was to put a light block from another mod (or you could even a glowstone block) and put it 1 block above the smeltery as part of the ceiling. It blended in nice and prevented 7 blocks directly below from spawning.

that is an option, if my smeltery is only a few layers tall, but if you build it higher, the torch on the upper layer won't be able to reach the bottom of the smeltery anymore

Theres these great new things called torches. They've just been implemented into the game. And, if your going for looks, try glowstone! It looks pretty fancy.

There's this great new concept in Tinker's Construct, 'You can't make smelteries with parts that aren't supposed to be there like glowstone and torches!' It was implemented into the last dev version. And, if you're going for solutions for mobs being stuck in there, put in some molten metal and kill 'em! The blood has a taste I'm sure you'll fancy.

torches break smelteries and I don't want blood in my smelteries.

quick suggestion... how about adding a seared glowstone brick that gives of light?
that way you can place one in the smeltery so mobs are not able to spawn inside your smeltery due to it being to dark.
another option is to make it so mobs can't spawn on seared bricks, but I kind of like the seared glowstone brick better

there's 1 thing that I really want to suggest for Tinker's Construct... and that is to either allow part builders to access normal vanilla chests aswell with patterns, or to either have the pattern chest keep it's inventory when broken, because it's really annoying to have move a pattern chest filled with patterns... personally I prefer the second option, as it's nothing gamebreaking or anything, as the pattern chest can only hold patterns anyways.

having me thinking of another thing, is it possible to allow non-smeltery parts to be crafted with casts aswell? that way you don't have to keep both a pattern and a cast chest

I don't want to add machines that are just the same stuff in forestry but faster. I'll come up with some more interesting way to do it :P

you could perhaps instead add a machine where you can put upgrades into which will determine what kind of work it'll do.
you'd be able to have that machine be both a centrifuge and a squeezer, but ofcourse for a much higher cost when it's only just 1 type.

I was also wondering, is it possible to get the easter egg bees through the advanced mutraton?
for example bees which can only be bred during a certain time period, or bees that need specific conditions before it can be bred

That's an interesting idea, i'll think about that.

with that you could perhaps introduce an industrial squeezer aswell, as the squeezer from forestry is quite slow if you need alot of honey or seed oil... industrialize all the things

another thing I've been thinking about for Harvestcraft... would it be possible to add a central block for harvestcraft, which you place down, and you can "hang" your cooking tools in the block, and it'll have an internal inventory where you can put resources in. when you do that the block will automatically give you a list of recipes that you could make with the cooking tools and resources. you could then simply select the food you want to make, and you can take it out of the block, and it'll automatically take up the required resources.

you could perhaps turn it into some sort of multiblock structure, where adding more kinds of blocks will allow you to craft more types of recipes. one block could increase the inventory size, another block could allow you to store and use liquids in recipes, another one could autocraft the recipes, and another block could cook the food. the presser could also become a part of this multiblock structure.

Nearly every block I add is compatible with every form of item transport that I could find. I'm a huge fan of modded Minecraft (obviously), but I honestly I don't want those sieves to be automated. Enough people liked the idea of using the autonomous activators and TC golems and such that I left a config option for people that want to do so.

The thing that sits at the heart of the skyblock experience and makes it unique and wonderful.. is scarcity. Automation of the sieve completely eliminates scarcity and kills the challenge. Then once the challenge is gone, so too is the fun. IMHO, if you want fully automated metal production, you should be forced to aim for a MFR laser drill, whose cost and energy requirements are far better balanced. The autonomous activator combined with a sieve is far too cheap for what the two do. Jadedcat made the activator cost diamonds and emeralds in Agrarian Skies, and I am so glad that she did.

I won't stop people from playing the way they want, but I'm not going to help out with this particular endeavor either. Creative Mode is the exact opposite of fun. Thats pretty much my mantra.

thank you for taking your time to read and answer my suggestion.
I understand your point of view and I agree with it

something I did notice though if you've a sieve completely surrounded with activators, the resources tend to spew from the top, if anyone wanted to know...

Can't answer for Erasmus, but in the meantime you can use flowing water over the top of the sieve running to a hopper. It works perfectly if you build a little enclosure around it and keep it open to the air, just building the walls up a couple of blocks to contain the drops. You can probably even put a roof on it, but I'm not sure how tall it would have to be to prevent items occasionally teleporting out. Without a roof I've built a perfectly self-contained system, though.

there are other ways around yes, you could also for example use Minefactory Reloaded's conveyor belts, as they work similar to water. but I want to have to automate the sieves more efficiently, and there isn't really a good compact and efficient way right now to do that

would it be possible for the sieve to actually get an output side... perhaps if you place a hopper below the sieve will automatically deposit the sieved items into the hopper? I'm trying to automate the sieve, but it's really annoying how derpy the items keep flying everywhere... I'm using the openblocks vaccuum to catch those items, but those are quite derpy themselves aswell...

The buffer is just how much stuff it is processing. It converts buffer into biofuel over time based on the efficiency rating

well, I guess that explains why it wasn't draining fast enough... guess the reactor really can't go any faster then that...
just wish the rednet system could become similar to the buildcraft gates system, where you could control redstone depending on inventory, types of items or machine functions...
