That's what I thought, but I have the most up to date LP and I use the extractor module MK2 just like he did.

well, there's another thing you could try out. get the world save of DW from episode 10, and try to do the same thing in DW's map as you did in yours and see if it happens aswell. if it does happen again, you could try asking another person to try the same and see if it's a problem with LP, if it doesn't happen it might mean your setup could be the problem

Hey, so I've been messing with some different types of sorting systems, and have built one just like DW's with the logistics chasis pipes and the modules. Mine is almost exactly like DW's except I have a few extra chests in the system. Any way I have been testing it out and seeing if it has any major flaws and I think I have come across one. I tried overloading the system with ores (about 2 full stacks of every type) and what I have found is that with that many ores in the system the chasis pipes connected to the macerators and furnaces get overloaded and spit out the ores onto the ground. I think this is a major flaw in the system but seeing how DW hasn't mention it yet, I was wondering if any one else who has this system has found that they have this problem also.

from what I know this happens with the previous version of LP, but DW mentioned this to krapht and a new version came out that should've fixed it, along with a mkII extractor module.

It is pretty efficient and only requires about 4 generators plus some wood to make the water mills. A filter, retriever, deployer and some tubes and you're set. Only downside is having to make a RP2 solar panel or thermopile to power the retriever. One of those setups runs six of my advanced machines no problem. Another set is powering my recyclers now. Debating a third and final group for the MF.

I'm getting ahead of myself. I just really want the quantum suit.

Do you go with the patented "Dire 9x9" houses?

I have a watermill system set up in the basement of my base, I hooked up 18 watermills and it can power all my machines just fine (which 8 of them are advanced machines) though if I would really strain the system for a long time, it could probably get a bit tough, but overall normal use works just fine.

as for power generation for the retriever, I have build a blutricity power station in the same room (a 9x9, but an actual 9 blocks by 9 blocks room, in DW-terms it'd be called an 11x11 :P ) I have 10 thermopiles in total set up, with the watermill system in the center of the room, and 5 thermopiles on each side. I have all the thermopiles hooked up into 1 power system consisting of about... 17 batteries. I could go more, but for now I don't need it.

Just wait till you have a couple more crafting tables, it becomes slightly less compact then :)

But it is very cool. I just still prefer to use RP2 for my smelting stuff since I don't like items bouncing around my system. I just use logistics pipes to send all ores to a buffer chest, pull them out with a filter into a macerator and another filter into a furnace. Then you can pull them straight back out of the furnace with a mk2 extractor into the logistics network.

Although if you don't mind waiting another couple of seconds you can also just use crafting pipes on the macerator/furnace and smelt as you craft. I actually still hope that Krapht adds some kind of a buffer module at some point, which acts like a supplier in that you can tell it to keep a certain number of items in stock, but at the same time will allow a provider pipe/module to be connected to the same chest, that way you can always keep a certain amount of complex items in stock, allowing for faster crafting when you need it. (advanced alloys for instance).

that I know, this was just a test setup to see if I could use the crafting pipes together with the chassis and modules in 1 system, and it worked. I know there will be many, many more auto-crafting tables, but still, compared to my system that I had done during S3, this system is alot more compact. in S3 I used RP for it, basically the same as DW, a filter, 2 retrievers and a sorting machine, but that was only the auto-sorting part, and you had to apply a redstone signal to all of them and provide most of them with blutricity. you also only had 16 colors (or so) that you could use for sorting and only a set number of slots for colors, unless you added more sorting machines.

but now I have it all into 1 system that pretty much doesn't require anything and it can be expanded as far as you like.

at first when Logistics pipes came out with the chassis and modules I didn't think too much of it, but now, I am in love with it
just see how compact this system has become

seeing as DW hasn't talked about this in a RP mod spotlight I guess I'll leave this here.
RP has a new weapon with a single purpose of slaying Endermen, it's called the Athame http://nemesis.evalq...pes.html#athame
2 hits with this baby and the endermen die a painful death :P

Word of caution for those that enjoy Direwolf20's mod choices.

Buildcraft's Quarry does not currently pick up Thaumcraft crystals. After testing, it broke the crystal but did not pick up and pipe it out, resulting in the vanishable item drops sitting there. If you do not closely monitor your quarry because of this, you will lose any vis crystals in the quarry area.

This is a little tough to approach because it is cross-mod. Hopefully the BC team and Azanor of Thaumcraft can work this out together. :(

IMHO this is something that needs to be changed in BC. if you break redstone or lapis, which will drop several drops, it all gets sucked in by the quarry, but with for example TC crystals, or some basic chests, everything gets dropped. if a quarry can suck up redstone and lapis it should also be able to suck up things like TC crystals and chest drops IMO

I just noticed something and I wonder if that was already added a few versions ago or not.
it's about the portalgun, if you have 2 portals open, for example a blue and orange portal, and you walk away, you can see the portal's outlines through the blocks, was this added already before or is this something new?

This. I see no reason to use the vanilla enchanting when this mod makes it much better and brings with it no ID conflicts. Not to mention the enchanting of diamond drills.

ikr, vanilla enchanting is way off IMHO, this mod actually makes it fun to start enchanting now, and makes it actually do-able.

You can't enchant IC2 tools any more, sadly =/ You used to be able to (I had Fortune 2 and Efficiency 3 on my Diamond Drill XD) but an update a while ago (The same one that brought the Solar Helmet and Static Boots in) blocked that ability

well, I don't know about you, but I have Better Enchanting installed, and I just enchanted a diamond drill in a test world with fortune 3 (cost 31 levels) and from 5 diamond blocks I mined 12 diamonds...

I have a suggestion, though I don't know if it's been suggested before...
now that wood has 4 colors I thought it'd be nice if you could also use the philosopher's stone to directly transmute 1 wood color into the other, the same as you can directly transmute cobblestone to smoothstone, dirt to sand, dirt to cobblestone and sandstone to gravel (and reverse ofcourse)

in my opinion it's not really overpowered or anything, since it's purely just for looks, but it'd make things easier instead of first having to go to the TT

    It's a chunk loading issues.

What you can do is craft the World Anchor but it's f-ing expensive.

Personally I feel this is a shortcoming in the way minecraft was built (it should auto-load chunks that you have built stuff in, or at the very least allow you to easily mark chunk to be loaded) so I have no problem cheating a few of these in to keep my systems running. I'm pretty sure the extreme price was so people in SMP don't put them down everywhere and slow down the server.

try the teleport tether from the Additional Pipes mod, it's a whole lot cheaper and keeps 3x3 chunks loaded :)

do you have the redpower addon for nei installed? if yes then you should go to the itemsubmenu and then there should be a redpower tab just mouse over it and you should see the panels and covers just rightklick on this tab and you got yourself less pages to klick through(the same can be done for every red power itemset)

    thanks alot, it worked :)
I never installed the NEI addon so I didn't know this XD

sorry for asking, but does anyone perhaps know if it's possible, and how to hide all the panel, slab, strip and block items in NEI? it's quite alot of pages and I want to try to shrink down the total number of NEI pages...
