I'm pretty sure there are plenty of "released" games that update. Be lucky you get pre-releases before a full update.
Terraria updates and is a fully released game, right?

He apologized for making it public and for being a '****' to the Yogscast. Can't you just accept it like the Yogscast will? We're all human here, you understand mistakes, now understand their mistakes and forgive. -
Nov 24, 2011YukiChan posted a message on Yogscast Responds To Statement'Ey, it takes a man to publicly say such a thing like that. I'm sure the Yogscast wouldn't want you hating on Notch either.Posted in: News
<3 Yogscast and Notch.
Oh god, please no "Team Notch" or "Team Yogscast" or whatever. That's like Twilight with Team Edward or Team Jacob.
*Shivers* Stupidity at its best.. -

Now Notch-Fan boys what did we learn this week? Well, we learned that Notch is just another human being that does make mistakes. We also learned to read both sides of the story before DDOSing.
Can't vote until a few hours, I think..
So I'll give you a diamond instead. d:
Oops, turned out to be a whole block of diamond!
Yay! -

Can't control what people do or think. So it is out of hand, but ye can't convince people that they are the ones doing it.
Kind of sad, but fun anyway. -

With no evidence to back him up, Notch has essentially committed slander (or is it libel for Twitter? Who knows...) That's what spreading information that you cannot prove to be true or false is...
He's also guilty in my mind of being a wee bit arrogant and egotistical, but that is merely subjective.
Mm. You can believe that. -

Before he apoligized, notch said when someone asked him why he lie'd he said "I did not lie" so i dont know but even if it was stress related, it is still a horrible thing to do because the yogscast have lost tons of subscribers, and most wont come back because they might not ever see the truth.
Not someone, it was three people. (;
It was that person's fault for believing Notch and not taking Yogscast's need of time in consideration.
In other words, not a true fan.Quote from Mardoc
Innocent until PROVEN guilty.
Evidence supporting Yogcast's claim: video evidence, character references from people at Minecon
Evidence supporting Notch's claim: None
With no evidence to back him up, Notch has essentially committed slander (or is it libel for Twitter? Who knows...) That's what spreading information that you cannot prove to be true or false is... ESPECIALLY when by making these (false) accusations you are directly impacting on the victim's finances (and you're inciting your basement dwelling script-kiddie fan base to commit illegal DDoS attacks, and verbally assault them at the airport)
It doesn't matter how tired and stressed he may or may not have been, Notch dun goof'd and he deserves all the grilling he gets and will continue to get until he comes clean, the facts are out in the open for everyone to see and this whole ordeal can finally be over and done with.
"Fair enough (in a positive way)" and "Dirty Laundry" apologies aren't going to cut it.
In other words, both of them are not guilty. -

So you're prefectly happy to let this all be resolved behind the scenes while the Yogscast get destroyed by the bad press they've received over it? You do realize that for some of the Yogscast crew this is their job right? If Notch's statements are true/fair/valid/whatever then the Yogscast deserve what they get, but if not then as long as this stays publicly unresolved then its just going to hurt their prospects of working with other organizations for other work. Normally its not a problem because there is a consensus reached behind the scenes before the news is released, or it becomes a court case which has a level of protection inherent to the process, but thanks to Notch they're now in this situation.
The two groups know the situation full well and 100% better than us, so yes, they can handle it themselves directly. I'm sure the Yogscast will tell their fans once it's resolved, but I'm not sure how Mojang will. I would rather see "It ended well and we made up" rather than nothing. So yes, I do have a different opinion on this. c: -

Also, the Yogscast replied the moment they could stating they would release a full reply later. If Notch's twitter ramblings have any legitimacy, then so does Yogscast initial reply. Further example of beliving the best in Notch but worst in Yogscast. Notch has also released several statements (again, more twitter for what its worth) since the Yogscast reply as well, including those directly to it, so why must we wait for Notch to reply further? He hasn't even expressed that he will explain himself down the road, I could be happy with that much.
Just because I like to defend Notch (since so many people are taking him the wrong way), doesn't mean I dislike Yogscast. I am a worthy Yogscast fan, but I don't need to defend them now as they have done a great job explaining themselves.
It's great to see that the MojangTeam will be speaking to them directly about this situation, so I think that this is pretty pointless to be honest. I'll be waiting on how they'll settle this, as it likely seems that it was Mojang itself that was bothered, not just Notch. -

This is why twitter doesn't work for this brand of discourse. I'm sure you are right, 100% so. However, there is still that niggling question. Not only did he not say that originally, to the point of using direct statements, but he has yet to come out saying that those were claims from others in any way shape or form.
On top of that, we've now got the Mojang twitter responding with a "We found it difficult to work with the Yogscast" rather than supporting the Yogscast Notch's line that the Yogscast were flat out out of line at the convention.
People on your end of the spectrum are all too happy to assume the worst of the Yogscast and best of Notch, why not call for him to actually explain himself rather than continuing to toss more assumptions around?
I think that while he's trying to say he's not lying (and I remember him saying he was going to be in a long flight), he may have not had time to tell a long story or to ask the people that told him the information.. maybe even waiting for a reply! And remember, the Yogscast took (2?) day(s) to reply, so I would give Notch the same time to be fair.
Mojang itself has a Twitter? Can't seem to find it.. I know that in a first minecon with bad organization, confusion and frustration is everywhere. People will blame this and that, agree and disagree, vent on others with hurtful words, you get the idea, I'm sure.
I don't need to hate Notch or Yogscast, actually. I can feel what I want, and help people to see Notch and the Yogscast's side of the story if I'd like to. You don't have to believe me, you don't have to even pay attention to me.
That's also why I throw the "I think" or "I'm guessing", because then people can't tell me that I'm lying or telling the truth. -

Notch is an arrogant ego tripping scumbag, borderline psychopath really, who has caused a **** storm.
And you're stupid. Oh wait, that's just an opinion, so does it matter? Nope!
Lol!
Get some facts and discuss better next time, mate. Express your opinion, but don't insult anyone, yes? You're only embarrassing yourself with those silly words.
Quote from Whispeon
Oh, lawd.
Notch got his information secondhand. Of course he didn't lie, he was told that Yogscast did all those naughty things.
Indeed, which is why he is not saying that he is lying. He was most likely told about what the Yogscast was doing, or maybe even saw some things himself, thus he is able to say those things and not be lying because he was told about it from another person. -

How about something that goes a bit further towards making amends than "I'm sorry I made this public" which is all we've seen thus far.
Let's see a joint statement once they have put their differences aside. Or if that's impossible, then at least some form of disapproval from Notch/Mojang regarding the frankly pathetic actions of an admitted minority of his community.
Hell, I'm no PR guy but there's two examples that go way farther to rectifying this whole situation than I've seen from Notch thus far. A little bit of professionalism in lieu of his hasty and unprofessional tweets would not be amiss.
I also wouldn't consider an apology on Twitter to be enough, either. How about a proper statement regarding the matter, apology or otherwise?
Well to make it fair, Simon made his statement through Reddit, which is basically kind of like Twitter in a way. I don't mind apologies being on the internet, but Notch basically has already said 'Fair Enough' to Simon (in a positive way), indicating that he is okay with their response even though it doesn't fix what he's said about them on Twitter.
I find their 'conversation' to be rather confusing and not mixing well, as both of them are saying that they are telling the truth, but to me it seems as though the truth isn't matching up.
I guess I'm getting a bit off topic here d:
Anyway! I feel that it is the Yogscast's turn to say whether or not they are satisfied with Notch's apology. If they are satisfied, then it ends there.
That's how I see it, though. I mean, it is their situation and us going around suggesting and evaluating things doesn't really seem to matter at this point..
Quote from MardocI disagree. His actions directly led to the actions of others. Without one, the other would not have happened. Even if you don't throw a single punch, you can be guilty of incitement.
Notch can say what he likes as it is his opinion, but the actions of others is something that he can not control. It is the person's decision how they react to the situation, whether good, bad, or neutral. I don't think Notch should apologize due to the idiocy of others. ^-^;
Edit: Bed time. c: Good day/night, all of you. -

OK, let's look at this another way.
Let's assume that millions of people hang onto every word that I say. Let's also assume that I come up with some sort of... misconception about you (something that isn't true, but that I'd heard someone say and believed). For example, I question your sexuality or... I dunno, that you eat babies or something. As a direct result you are subjected to torrents of abuse from my legions of sheep like followers, who endeavour to attack your business, harass you wherever you go and directly affect your income.
You would sue my ass into oblivion, would you not? Slander/libel laws exist for a reason, and to absolve Notch of any responsibility for his careless actions is naive at best.
I'm not suggesting that the Yogscast sue Notch at all, but come on... a proper apology is the LEAST they deserve for all of this.
What proper apology are you looking for? -
Nov 23, 2011YukiChan posted a message on Yogscast Responds To StatementPosted in: NewsQuote from nessin
You're right, Notch should not apologize for the actions of others. What he should do is distance himself from the actions though. Notch is in no way responsible or liable for what people do, but the most likely culprit of the attacks on the Yogscast site come from people who took Notch's words to heart. He should come out with a short statement, even twitter would work, saying he doesn't support members of the minecraft community committing illegal acts against the Yogscraft people. At the very least, ask for civil discourse while he talks things over with the Yogscast after he apologized for airing everything publicly.
Yeah, sadly it happens all the time. It reminds me of the incident between the creator of "Better Than Wolves" mod and the Yogscast wanting it in their Yogbox. It ended up being a huge misunderstanding, and before anything was ever done about it between the two, a whole mess between the Yognaughts and people trying to calm them down erupted, which in the end remained useless because the creator had to say no because of the outrageous attitudes from the Yognaughts.. or as the creator called them; 'Yogaboos'. Lol -

Touché, I think I should have thought of that before I had posted, because when you get down to it all, the people who caused the DDOS were the ones who "jumped the gun."
Yeah, they definitely did. ): It's all on them, and it's a shame they had to be so stupid. xP

I'm sorry to hear that, Sharp. ): But we're having issues ourselves, and sometimes family comes over games..
I personally asked Steven if he'd ever plan on hosting a server again. He said "maybe", but I wouldn't count on it. If we ever do get to the point that we want to recreate Sanctuary, I can contact you via Steam about it and it'll be like a fresh new start.
I can't thank you enough for inspiring him so much, Lefty. (: I've enjoyed your server and I may come back a few times, I guess I'm just not used to being in a large crowd. I'm happy to see that your server has been very populated lately, and maybe we could point some of our community to your server.

The decision was made a long time ago. If you can't get over it then that's your own fault. We do not appreciate excessive bragging of your server and how you thanked us for showing our plugins for you to copy from. What you have done was not something we liked, and we may have done the same to you (by banning you from our server). If anything, I think it's a done deal. There's no need to whine and whimper over this as it has already been done, and we will not reconsider you.
We have IP banned you from our server (when you decided to come back on another account), and one of the accounts you were on claimed that it was you, "Halo". (This is probably why your brother is unable to log on now. But that's okay, I'm sure you can tell him about exactly why he's unable to get on our server anymore.)
And if anything, I hope to see someone "slap" you some better attitude/judgment. Your behavior is above the line and too kiddish for us to even consider your side of the story. (If you're paying attention, I'm not the one using fowl language to prove my point, claiming my age is an excuse for the better argument, and assuming that we are assuming what you are assuming about us.) There is no need to taunt us or beg us for your attention for a reply, as I'm sure we would reply anyway, however in a more mature and understanding matter. I hope you realize that at this point all you're really doing is crying out in anger rather than trying to talk to us about the issue. Either way the chance was lit up a long time ago.
In all simplicity, we don't want you back. It's a done deal here, and it may be not for you, but you'll get over it, I'm sure, with another fit or not.
I'm sure that with the attitude you're striking us with right now, most (if not all) of our community would undoubtedly not befriend you. You have explained, and you have also bragged. There is a fine line between saying "Hey, I made my own server" and "Hey guys I made a server and look at what happened right now and by the way thanks for showing those plugins of which I decided to copy from you!" Is what you basically said including that awesome "thank you" note.
How about I explain the McDonalds thing more realistically. It is like you walking into our McDonalds saying "Hey, I made another restaurant. Look at how great it's doing right now, LOL! It's doing so well, and look at all this stuff that's been happening. By the way, thanks for showing off all of those menus and the ingredients of which I decided to copy from you. Welp, gotta go, see ya!" You see, I personally feel that is more realistic based on the facts of what you said.
(For those that want proof: "oh and thanks for posting those plugins on the form. im using them but I moddifyed them, bye" (http://i42.tinypic.com/6zq16v.jpg ))
We have not made any assumptions. You by fact have not released the IP of your server in chat, however you have constantly, constantly bragged about it and in a way it was like trying to group our community into your server, which we absolutely do not like. I'm sure you would not like the same thing, you know, a person trying to brag about how great their server is doing with all this stuff and oh look, my server all of a sudden has as many people as yours does. How nice.
Your age does not give you any, ANY excuse for anything whatsoever, therefore useless information coming from your argument.

Hey guys. It seems as though Steven isn't up at the moment, so I don't know if the server had a Java error and can't fix itself. Either he'll come back and fix the server up or the server will fix itself.
Sorry for the inconvenience. :c
