So....
I bought a ASUS N56V with windows 8, and basically whenever I try to connect to my network, I get "Checking network requirements" and then it just says it cant connect.
other secure networks just ask the password right away, and non secure work.
I have no idea how to fix it, and am not sure I want to re-install windows.

Believe me, it was a backup, I know my computers, been programming for nearly 10 years now (still not much huh? lol). I am seriously trying to find out how this happened. I'm also talking to one of valve's guys about this, you can say we're doing research lol

the fact it cant access folders outside is why I said somewhy.
I did not delete it, it was on my desktop, it just disappeared when I un-installed steam.

As you can see in my own quote, I did. and somewhy it got deleted aswell.
0
on my desktop, just so I can see if its fine all the time
But it doesnt matter now, its all fixed, I did waste a day, but its fixed.
0
I did that. somehow steam deleted the backup folder aswell (how?!).

I guess I got over this bug, but its pretty damn annoying, blocks you out of steam for around 12 hours and then you have to re-install everything. kind of a big deal for anyone who has the problem.

heh exactly what happened to me today (only I have 103 games, urgh).

I'm now going for my re-re-re-re-re-re-reinstall.just a few days ago I had some trouble with the humble thq bundle.well, at least now I have a reason to stay up until 2am. (12:30 am here right now)

Well, steam installed, and im downloading skyrim first, cause why not.
Download speed you ask? 5 MB/S! dafuq did I do to my steam, I used to download and 1/10 of that. maybe there was a good side to steam dieing?
0
afterwards I proceed to the following 12 hours of "joy":
Steam doesnt open. crashes.
I delete a file that is suggested to delete if this happens, nada.
then it downloads at about 1% per hour. great.
I start messing with TCPview to fix it.
I fixed it, now it downloads!
yey its finished! now to open steam!
guess what, didnt fix it.
un-installed steam, since is only solution, and now MY 90 GB OF GAMES ARE GONE.
Since steam forums are down, im posting it here so I can come back later aswell and give them a very nasty complaint. I am losing double XP in 3 games, I am losing subscriptions in other games, and now im losing time that ill waste downloading. If there was a program competing with steam that was not bad (origin is bad, yes) I'd immediately switch to it. seriously, how does removing steam remove 90gb of games in 2 seconds of a un-install?
Not to talk about me not being able to access my account completely because of that stupid feature that is completely useless for PC players, and is "just out of beta". IF ITS JUST OUT OF BETA MAKE IT WORK! not block me out of my account with crashes! ugh ffs ive wasted 12 hours fixing their bug. and its still broken. valve, please check what youre posting before making it public, and at least keep the forums alive.
Also, Support also seems to ignore me, since I got an email that support is down for the moment. So basically I have no help fixing this.

3 billion x 3 billion = 9.e + 18 (9000000000000000000 square blocks per layer) * 256 = 2304000000000000000000 blocks / meters.
The earths area surface is 5100000000 square klilometers.2304000000000000 / 5100000000 = 4608000. thats 4608000 times larger than earth.Hopefully im correct.divide 2304000000000000000000 by 256 for 1 layer: 9000000000000000000
divide by earths size: 9000000000000000000 / 5100000000 = 1764705882.35294117647059.
thats your answer.
and for size: we estimate 4,500,000 square meters and the mapfile is 37.9mb.
therefore: 1 kilometer is 1,000 meters so, 1 square kilometer is 1 kilometer x 1 kilometer
or 1,000 meters x 1,000 meters
or 1,000,000 square meters.
4,500,000 / 1,000,000 = 4.5
510,072,000 / 4.5 ~ 113,349,333
37.9 * 113,349,333 = 4,295,939,720 mb or (roughly) 4,195,253 GB or 4,096 Terabytes or 4 PETABYTES!
As of 2011, no storage system or network has achieved even one thousandth of a yottabyte (a zettabyte) of information. The combined space of all computerhard drives in the world was estimated at approximately 160 exabytes in 2006[1], and as of 2009, the Internet was estimated to contain close to 500 exabytes. which means an infinite world. unless you own a computer from CERN. yeah, they produce 16 petabytes of info every year.
