I don't know, maybe it's because it's a version of the mod made by another guy and compatible with forge.
but this one for sure doesn't work with it, on every crash log there's this line:
"Suspicious classes: FML andForge are installed"

"Suspicious Classes" just lists classes added by mods. It doesn't mean those mods actually caused the crash.

Use Craft Guide or Not Enough Items (search for them on the forums) if you need a forge compatible recipe book.

    This looks promising:
    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1764111-151forge-the-herbology-mod-herbal-medicine-and-brewing-102/

Adds medicines which you can create in a crafting table from overworld ingredients. Some of these ingredients may also be used to brew potions.

If you want to hollow out redwoods, you'll need to make a few more changes to the natura_redwood section and either turn off allowItemDamage or turn on allowMoreBlocksThanDamage. In natura_redwood, you'll need to add the damage values for each specific sort of wood (they all use the same block ID) and leave out the bark.

Here's a config file that only hollows out redwoods. If you're worried about game balance, but want a hollow tree for a base, this is the file to use. Chop through the bark, then break the heart wood with your bare hands. I got 34x64+25 redwood. I wouldn't try this without Stackie installed.

    http://pastebin.com/dBMtm7NM

Also, in the world I used to test this, I spawned underground (y=32 or so), in rock, under the kingdom... probably also the worst possible world for Millenaire or redwood spawns... and there was a goblin village right in front of the kingdom entrance.

Looks like I need to add the book that tells people how to build the goloms from 'Utility Mobs' to 'Starting Inventory'.
Same with the 2nd book from 'TinkersConstruct' that shows how to smelt and use all the custom alloys.

The first TConstruct book includes all the smeltery block recipes at the end, and the second one appears when you craft those blocks, so you shouldn't need it... Took me a while to figure out how to make blank casts though. I don't think it's mentioned in either book. (For those that are stuck: you need to smelt Aluminum Bronze and pour it into a empty casting table. Read the black book for the recipe)

Also unmentioned, I think, is that you can use the hardened glass and windows for liquid storage and can place them under a spout to collect liquid metal from the smeltery. You can also place a spout on the glass/windows to use a casting table with stored liquid metal. Can't mix metals outside the smeltery though.

Here's a config file to add support for the additional trees and axes found in AMCO (Natura trees, GemsPlus axes, etc):
    http://pastebin.com/nFMtF18F

    Put that in ~/.minecraft/config/TreeCapitator.cfg

I missed the sakura trees and mattocks. Here's an updated version (untested at the moment):

Lots of folks are requesting 'Timber' or 'Treecacitator' to make wood gathering easier, so I'll add it.
Besides, since bark, roots, and heartwood are different blocks it means we should be able to hollow out giant redwoods easily, without killing taking out the whole tree.

TreeCapitator also works, but the minions seem to get a bit confused if the tree they're chopping suddenly disappears.

Meh. 'Timber' kinda breaks the game balance in my opinion.

By default, TreeCapitator damages your axe for each log chopped and will not continue chopping logs once your axe is destroyed. There's also a maximum radius, so you can't just make some uber-unbreakable axe and chop down a redwood.

This mod pretty much just saves you some time and a lot of climbing.

I absolutely love this mod pack I just have one serious problem, even when I'm playing on single player I get lag as if I was playing on multiplayer? if you don't know what I mean, I'll destroy like 3 blocks and a second later they all come back and roll back my work. It's really frustrating, and I was wondering if you (or anyone) know how to fix this? I got one world to not do it for about an hour so I don't see why all the others I've tried creating do it? Please help. As you can tell I made this account simply to figure out this problem so any help will be much appreciated,

    Some stuff that might help:

Get Stackie (search for it on the forums). Kill all the chickens. Make sure you don't have any items laying around. If you install NEI, you can use the magnetism feature to collect items automatically to keep things clear. My chicken farm was the main source of lag for me. Whenever I moved close enough for NEI to suck up the eggs, the frame rate quadrupled and the game got much more responsive. I'll be building a new farm using hoppers so there won't be any loose eggs. Wild chickens can be just as bad though, especially in plains biome. If I can actually find the symbols, I'll probably put my farms in a separate Mystcraft age. Need a chunk loader though...

Millenaire can significantly increase the number of loaded chunks, which makes more work for the server. Disable it if you need to. Assigning large jobs to Minions in the Nether may cause some extreme lag (I think, not sure that's what did it.)

Adjust your video settings. Make sure it's set to fast, not fancy. Use the default texture pack, not the 32x one included with AMCO. Advanced OpenGL seems to slow things down. Adjust your render distance. Turn off smooth lighting. Make sure you DO NOT have Optifine installed since it tries to do the same things as the MC Patcher mods used in AMCO.

Also, adjust your memory settings (-Xms240m -Xmx1g -Xincgc might do it, but it depends on your computer). Look here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1541173-java-memory-and-minecraft-server-launcher-16-ready/ This might not be easy to do on Windows.

EDIT: About 5 minutes after I originally posted I got this popping up in my chat "BlockName [tile.log], Block ID [17], metadata [0]" Could that possibly have anything to do with it?

That's debug text from one of the mods. Seems harmless...

    Need more information.

I'm getting the same error. "Can Use" is "No" and the level cost text is red for every button, but I have enough levels (and they show up at the top of the GUI) and I have 15 bookshelves (which show up on the bookshelves thingy as 15/15). I'm using AMCO (Arrrg's modpack).

Also, newer versions of eplus crash forge before the minecraft title screen with a cryptic message when I replace the AMCO version. The screen shows what looks like a version number where one would expect a mod ID and the forge log, command line, etc have no useful information. It looks like all mods successfully load, but then it crashes anyway.

I've been trying to get 'Death Chest' to work since Revsion 1.
    No luck yet.

You could try DerBAM's Grave mod. Looks like it gives you a suicidal way to farm quartz, flowerpots and chests.
Works with forge and uses a double chest, so it should be able to catch everything.

    EDIT:
    Tried it. It works.

    All,
Sending in links with your mod suggestoins really helps me out.
It speeds up the process, and increases the chances the mod you're suggesting will be included.

I kinda like RikMuld's Camping Mod, and it would fit well with this modpack, but it's a bit buggy. Every so often, the mobs will all freeze, chunks will stop loading and I'll be unable to mine. Kinda looks like the server crashes, but the client just keeps on going.

It adds campfires, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, radishes (fast growing, grows on untilled ground, can be eaten quickly, but only heals 1 heart), and campers who you can trade with and spawn in camps. Camps seem to pop up randomly, even in generated chunks.

Sharkboy and others stuck with Null Pointers,
I need to hear back from you weather you've tried disabeling 'Better Dungeons' or not.
I'll also try playing around in some superflat worlds and other things I can think of that might make Null Pointer errors.

Removing Better Dungeons fixed both the random Null Pointer crash and the freeze during world generation for me.

Also, there's an item id conflict between Pam's HC Peanuts and the records from the Portal Gun mod. I fixed it by changing item{ids{I:recordIdIndex}} to 31060 in ~/.minecraft/config/PortalGun.cfg

The Barrels Mod works well with this mod pack, but you'll need to change block{I:Barrel} in ~/.minecraft/config/barrels.cfg to 4087 to get it to work. Run minecraft once to get the config file. You'll crash, but the file will be generated. I didn't really want to try Factorization because of the number of blocks and items it adds, and it kinda clashes with the general medieval fantasy theme of AMCO as it stands now since there are no other tech mods in there yet.

TreeCapitator also works, but the minions seem to get a bit confused if the tree they're chopping suddenly disappears.

NEI works. OptiFine causes the GUI to be far less responsive and lowers the frame rate, probably because it's clashing with the MCPatcher mods.

There's a missing texture in TOK2 for the sell thingy at the blacksmith. You can see it in ThePacerGamer's video.

I'm using AMCO revision 2 for Minecraft 1.5.1.

Great job! This couldn't have been easy to put together.

    Edit:
The Millenaire Quest List key is M by default, which conflicts with the Minions mod.

I added the following to ~/.minecraft/mods/millenaire-custom/config-custom.txt to change it to J and make sure the villagers speak English instead of French:

    language=en
    village_list_key=V
    quest_list_key=J

    Edit2:
    corrected config file paths.
