posted a message on New server needs spawn builders

Hey, just going to respond here first and then I'll catch you on Skype. I don't have too much time either, but I build quickly when I get going. I've been building cool **** since beta and I'm looking for a project. Building is my zen thing. It's relaxing to me, so yeah. I don't really think I have any building constraints....I like building everything except modern skyscraper boxes.

Oh yeah, if you want examples click the link in my signature.

I mostly build intuitively, putting down blocks and then deleting them until I like the way something looks. Also, I learned a very interesting style that makes everything look so much more natural which basically utilizes several different kinds of blocks to imply wearing of the surface. Like making a road out of mostly gravel and then putting a few blocks of stone, stone brick, and stairs in the ground so it looks like it's all broken up and worn. You can also do this with walls of buildings. It's best to try and imagine things in a logical way, like when you build a city there are things a city needs to maintain itself: sewer, clean water, food, shelter, etc. So you'd need to build farms and markets and wells and undergound sewers and all that. Intricate buildings kind of just...come out of me. I keep building and adding rooms and make them seem like they fit and I stick with a simple theme of 2-3 types of colors I use to build the structure.

More snow. :) Snow everywhere....most of it should be snow in fact. With blocks of stone here and there...but mostly snow.

Experience- I have taken part in the building of a few rpg servers (mostly what was called the Four Nations of Tyugron, I was assigned to help build the Sky Kingdom), but, because of the lack of dedication and organization, most of them failed or never started up to begin with. I wanted to be apart of something that would last so people could enjoy the buildings I created. I mostly engaged in my own major buildings, all of which were lost, but I have images of them; I will provide them below. I am also, as part of my New Years List-of-Stuff-to-Accomplish (I refuse to say resolution because I made this list to keep me occupied in moments of boredom and not really knowing what to do with myself), I am working on a large fantasy city that goes with a fictional world I've been building for about a decade (I have proof of that too, but I can only show you the files since the stuff in them may end up turning into a novel someday ;) ).

Why should we Pick You- I take my creations very seriously and I focus very hard when I have caught the inspiration bug. On the large water-born spawn, I spent 8 hours or more a day for over a week and finished it and the market in front of it on my own. While I work hard and tend to be serious about it, I am also very friendly and have a lot of good ideas to give. :)

Are you expecting pay- I am an adult working part-time to pay bills so pay is always awesome, but not expected. If you feel so inclined, I wouldn't say no.

those are all amazing you have a real talent for building :D

Thanks so much! I miss having the spawn around to just do my thing in, but it was a great project. I put off building for this long because the texture pack has a lot to do with why I was even building it. Someone awesome has been updating it and doing a very good job at it, so I've been working on a new project recently. It's coming along very well so far and I can't wait to post pictures. :)

Okay, so I applied on the website and tried to connect to the TS server but it wouldn't go through. Don't know what the issue is.

Have you ever been banned from a minecraft server: Nope!

Have you read and agree with our server rules: Yes and yes.

Why do you want to become whitelisted on AdultCraft: I'm a fairly casual player and I enjoy Minecraft because I find it to be therapeutic at times when I don't want to do a whole lot of anything and I'm most interested in this server because it is a mature server.

Are you an active player? How many hours a day do you play: Before I didn't have internet for a while I played a few hours a day. I imagine this might turn into a a couple hours every other day or every day or just whenever I feel like it.

Do you have Teamspeak 3? Are you willing to download it: Yes I have it. :)

I was kind of thinking about doing a youtube tutorial series to go along with it. It's just an idea at this point. But I mean, taking into consideration how people learn...some people can watch videos and learn from that, but other people are more kinesthetic learners. I personally prefer to learn by doing. Like when I picked this game up I figured it all out pretty much through trial and error and friends and some articles. I dunno! I'll think about it. :3

Something similar to the tutorial map in MCX360? I imagine it would help a lot of people if said people knew where to look. The problem is, people don't usually go looking for custom maps to download until they have a fairly good grip of the game.

Yeah, this is the one problem I see too. Like explaining how to install the map. :P But it's fairly simple (I hope).

I'm not sure if there are any maps like this because I haven't actually looked for them, but I was thinking I might make a custom map with vanilla Minecraft that would teach new players how to do basic stuff and gives tips and what not. Basically, it would be like a tutorial map with different zones for each kind of "lesson".

Would that be a good idea? Would people use it? Has it been done? Links to maps like this?

Also, as further discussion, what do you think the most basic things that noobies should know are?

Some kids aren't even in middle school, and they already swear like there's no tomorrow. Its really annoying.

That's just the world today. The internet and its mixing of ages and levels of maturity have taught kids how to grow up--kind of--a lot faster. There is no bullsh!ting on the internet and people don't care how old anyone is. There is no moderation of language anywhere. In my opinion, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. The idea that swearing is "wrong" is just a useless moral brainwashed into society. Words are just words and you can choose how you feel in response.
