posted a message on Limiting Player's Coordinates?

Okay. So what i've figured out from the first two is that they copy my x and z coordinates (with a slight offset) and teleport the armor stand to that.

Then, the third one teleports me to the armor stand...

Does that mean I could flip around one of the other ones for the Y coordinate to teleport ME to the Y coordinate of the armor stand?

Do you mean all emeralds ON THE GROUND? Or in a player's inventory?

you did minecraft.emerald, not minecraft:emerald. I switched it to the second one and it works fine.

EDIT: oops sorry just realised Crazy_Dave just said that :).

No idea if this is possible, but I had something in mind like: teleporting an armor stand with no gravity to a certain coordinates, teleporting the player to the Y coordinate of that armor stand, and making the armor stand go down when the player crouches, while still allowing the player to move along the X and Z.

Is this possible AT ALL?

You can always specify the region.

/execute as @a at @s if entity @s[y=5,dy=-5] run teleport @s ~ ~0.5 ~

/execute as @a at @s if entity @s[y=15,dy=240] run teleport @s ~ ~-0.5 ~

Something like this might work. It's better if you actually get what I'm doing.

What I'm trying to do is not teleport them back up, but keep them at whatever Y coordinate they are at until they crouch, which'll teleport them down slowly. From what I think this looks like, you're teleporting players up if they're below 0, and down if they're above 255...

Or is this doing something else?

Not sure if I titled that right or not, but what I'm trying to create is this:

An artificial flying system.

The most successful thing I've got working so far is say, something that allows you to roam around at y=5, but not go up or down. I'm not allowing players to go up, but I've got a crouching thing in mind which teleports players down at a certain speed when they are crouching. < This is not what I want to know.

What I need is: Rather than, say doing /execute at @a run tp @a[sort=nearest,limit=1] ~ 5 ~, I don't want to have to have a certain Y coordinate. I want them to be teleported to a particular one (not a number) that keeps them at that limit until they crouch, which then teleports them down...

I'm sure there are several ways to go about this, maybe copying the Y coordinate from another entity or something, but not really sure at the moment.

Hope I explained that clearly (I probably didn't!).

/execute at @a if block ~ ~-1 ~ minecraft:red_wool run kill @p

/execute at @a if block ~ ~-1 ~ minecraft:black_wool run effect @p minecraft:slowness [However Long] [However Strong] true

Those SHOULD work, but I probably could have simplified some of them and so on... Sorry can't test them at the moment, but hopefully they work :).

posted a message on Force a player's gamemode via command blocks?

Hm... do you want all players to always be on survival? Or just certain people? (Like, do you want admins?)

This will set everyone on creative to survival.

/gamemode @a[gamemode=creative] survival

If you wanted certain people to be able to go on creative, I would add a custom tag (/tag ExamplePlayer add Admin).

then you can set everyone on creative without that tag to survival with:

posted a message on Falling... Beds?
Quote from NemPlayer»

## Explanation

Your commands will not work as you expected because:

1. You are summoning the falling_block entity as sand.
2. There is a bug in Minecraft, which makes falling_block entities with the BlockState name of brown_bed not render.

The first reason is fixable by just adding correct NBT data to the falling_block, while the second is a bug in Minecraft, there is no way (that I know of) which may fix this issue.

## Solution

`/summon falling_block <x> <y> <z> {BlockState:{Name:"brown_bed",Properties:{facing:"south",part:"foot"}},NoGravity:1b,Time:0}`

This is the command that will fix the first reason, but because of a bug, it will not be rendered. I recommend that you submit the issue to Minecraft: Java Edition Bug Tracker. It is not possible to do what you wanted, because of the bug.

## Proof

Falling_block entity with the name of the BlockState brown_bed, is not rendered, therefore it is impossible to do what you wanted.

With that bug, is it just that bed colour? or all feet of bed?

posted a message on Detecting if a block has been mined

If you mean just a particular block (say, a diamond block positioned on a pedestal), can't you just do a spamming /setblock command? That way it gets mined, but as soon as it is, another one is placed there.

If you mean every block (like, the entire world) you could either use /fill commands for flat areas, or maybe some /clone commands? They'd have to be spamming themselves...

posted a message on (Unsolved) Executing when Player holding custom item?

Hm... that command (the give one) doesn't seem to be valid...

and not just cause it's a /give command instead of /replaceitem...

For anyone who needs to know I grabbed the part from the 'minecraft:compass' all the way to the end. and it doesn't like it...

posted a message on (Unsolved) Executing when Player holding custom item?

So... It appears I haven't quite gripped this concept yet.

I have this:

/give @a[x=-723,y=27,z=-369,dx=8,dy=8,dz=8] hotbar.0 minecraft:compass{display:{Name:"{\"text\":\"Magnet\",\"color\":\"gray\",\"bold\":true,\"italic\":false}",Lore:["While holding this, all items nearby will fly towards you!"]},HideFlags:1,Enchantments:[{id:"minecraft:binding_curse",lvl:1}]} 1

And I would like to execute a command (/say hi will do) at any player holding that particular item.

So... For further reference, when you're identifying someone holding this, do you HAVE to list every single aspect of it? (e.g. lore, enchantments, etc...). Because I've tried it without, and it doesn't appear to really work...

posted a message on Detect when player riding entity? (1.13.2)

I've browsed around a bit, and tried some stuff, and all the commands seem to be 1.12 or lower.

Would I use the nbt selector? (e.g. /execute at @p[nbt={}]).

Anyway, that's what I tried, and I"m probably doing the wrong thing. So, what I want is to execute at a player riding something (a horse'll do). Maybe just /say hi if they're riding a horse.

posted a message on (SOLVED) Executing command when certain gametime?

Sorry, I think I didn't explain that enough... what I meant was, is that I was using /time query daytime to FIGURE out which time it was, as that is the approach others took. If you just want the command I'm trying to trigger, I'm trying to do a /tellraw at a certain tick time (e.g. midnight).
