Here is an idea I have thought of for Minecraft after playing Skyrim for a bit. What if the devs made bookshelves a container?! Haha that's not all: you can only put Story Books in them!
But what is a story book? Well, if you've played Skyrim then you're should know hopefully. Basically it's a written book (Preferably with a new texture) that you can read and has a custom title! Finally real-life books are here! Yay?...
Here are some genres-
Adventure
Cooking
Minecraft Tips
Building
Nether/End
How to Survive
Etc.
Story books can spawn in any dungeons with bookshelves. Each dungeon could have a list of possible books in the files.
POSSIBLE ISSUES:
1) We can't have unlimited books or randomly generated books, but we can't have too many books written in the files: it will take up too much space
2)Who even reads? ESPECIALLY IN VIDEO GAMES? Though noobs could use these for tips
What do you think of this? I hope I explained it well, and if you play Skyrim then I hope you made the connection! Thanks for reading
Minecraft awesome, but we really need better aesthetics. New particles, better lighting, and better textures.
Particles have already been talked about, so I'll talk about lighting and textures.
All the lighting in Minecraft is one color. Some mods add colored torches, but I've never seen anything that changes the light color of old light sources. For Example:
END RODS - Purple Light
SEA LANTERNS - Blueish light
LAVA, FIRE, MAGMA - Orange/Red/Yellow light
BEACONS can be color-coded
Torches and Jack o lanterns can stay normal!
Next, we need Randomization in the textures. Changing up the never-ending block patterns is essential to Minecraft's beauty. Simply adding new textures in the code, like many people have done before, would make the game so much better!
Having mixed textures will get rid of the pattern on almost EVERY block in Minecraft. Mojang made it slightly better by rotating some textures, but why not add similar, but new ones? Its been done in texture packs, so why can't it be done in Vanilla?
Examples:
Bricks and Prismarine Bricks can have different brick colors
Vines can have different shapes
They don't have to be huge changes, but just something to break up the pattern is what Minecraft needs.
Colored Lighting:
Very simple-
The light color of the blocks color.
Examples:
Lava light is orange or red,
Redstone gives off red light,
Beacons lighting is color coded,
Endrods can give off purple light.
How do you all like it? We also could use new blocks... but this will increase the game from a 10 to an 11, don't you think?
Honestly, all I really want is new Blocks, Ores, woods/trees, food, and maybe make the terrain made out of multiple blocks. Not just dirt. Maybe different kinds of dirt. Idc
I know it's now 2016, but people who find this, the most efficient way to get diamonds is to get efficiency 5 and fortune 3 and mending and in breaking 3 dia pick then get 4 layer beacon haste 2. Speed mining got me about 10 stacks of dias after moving the beacon 3 times. But u have to do this on layer 10/11. The only problem is getting the beacon and 4 layers of iron/ gold.
A good seed is 24739. You spawn on a beach and if you follow the river on your right, you'll end up seeing a small rock with lava, and a mountain biome. Halfway up the mountain is a flat area to build your house. Not sure if there is a dungeon or any good idea there though. Its a very good survival seed.

How do we make Minecraft more beautiful?
Two things:
Varying block textures
Colored lighting
Here is an explanation of these two ideas:

Structure name: Mausoleum
When you walk near it, Ghouls and Ghosts spawn.
Has graves(Stonebrick) and Wispdirt
Wispdirt: dirt with a wispy feel to it.
Ghoul: a retextured zombie
Ghost: a floating mob that is weak and drops ethereal cloth.
What should you do with ethereal cloth? Dunno.
What do you think? It's pretty good, huh?
