Hey guys, I recently got an idea to make an HD 128x Res Texture Pack. But, I wanted a themed one. So I thought for a while, and came up with a plan to make a Gears Of War themed pack. I really love the Gears Series, and, as far as I know, there are NO Gears Packs in existence. It is a WIP of course since I just started it. All I have done is the Breaking Animation.

I'm putting this project on hiatus for now. I'm doing some research and looking to starting up college courses really soon. Check back here from time to time for updates.

This is MY Texture Pack that I am making. I will update and make changes to it whenever I see fit. Do not demand that I update it or release it. I don't have to do this, I can just as easily half-ass it for the Public and keep the Higher Quality version for Myself. Please don't rush me. I've been putting A LOT of time and effort into this. Making an HD Texture Pack is very hard and stressful. I hope you all can understand.





Please, please! I'm asking for everyones feedback and support. Also, I'd really appreciate it if an experience Texture Pack Designer could help me out a little bit with making this. The Pack would be able to be released a lot sooner if so.

I'd really like to have a World with a BUNCH of huge Mountains in it. I've looked at some Seeds, but couldn't find any that were all to great. Could someone please give me a World Seed with a lot of epic Mountains? I'd really appreciate it.

It's just one of the things you can do in this mod. You don't have to, but if you want to, you can make torches. The tools and smelting into diamond are the important part of this mod. the torches would just be a little add-on.

Anybody else want to share what they think about this Idea?

Right, but there are some people out there that aren't lucky enough to find a whole lot of Diamonds. So if they had a TON of coal and gunpowder, they could make a few diamonds and feel happy.

Here are the basics of my idea:

It is called the Compressed Coal Mod,

It adds 1 new item - Compressed Coal: You craft it from Coal and Gunpowder.
It adds 1 new block - Compressed Coal Block: You craft it from Compressed Coal.
It adds 5 new tools - Sword, Pick, Axe, Shovel, and Hoe.

The Compressed Coal can be used to make Torches (1 Compressed Coal + 1 Stick = 8 Torches)
The Compressed Coal can be used to craft tools (Tools have the same Durability and Mining Capabilities as Wood)
The Compressed Coal Block is used for compact storage of Compressed Coal

[NEW IDEAS:

The Tools should have special abilities. I don't know how easy, or even if it is possible, but, here are my ideas for them:

Compressed Coal Sword : Pigs, Cows, and Chickens drop Cooked Food upon death.
Compressed Coal Pick : Block drops are in Smelted form (Stone drops Stone, Iron Ore drops Iron Ingot, Gold Ore drops Gold Ingot)
Compressed Coal Axe : Wood drops Charcoal when cut.
Compressed Coal Shovel : Sand drops Glass Blocks, Clay drops Clay Bricks.
Compressed Coal Hoe : Acts just like a Wooden Hoe.

END NEW IDEAS]

Please tell me what you think of the Ideas Mentioned above. Thanks for any and all feedback.

But, the best part of this mod is that you can smelt the Compressed Coal Block to get 1 Diamond.

It takes 8 Coal and 1 Gunpowder to make the Compressed Coal,
It takes 9 Compressed Coal to make 1 Compressed Coal Block,
1 Compressed Coal Block gives you 1 Diamond.

So really, it takes 72 Coal to make the 1 Diamond (I'd say that is pretty fair, right?)

Does that 'wire' happen to be the one that Charges your Controller? If so, then that will not work. You need a Wired Controller, you can't use Wireless; even with the Charging Cable.

Also, you need a Program called Xpadder.

The LP is called Search For The Stronghold. As we all know, only one Stronghold spawns per world. And they are very big, mysterious, and creepy. I'm going to make it my Mission to find the Stronghold and get all of the treasures from inside.

I think that would make for a great LP full of Adventure, and Survival.
