    Eucalyptus Regnans, 80 Meters
I've been thinking about it, but it's actually quite hard to come up with a unique design for those. It's very challenging to match the trunk width and the height while keeping it reasonable, get all the leaves and branches in a correct fashion, etc. I'll probably leave the job to someone else. Except...

I had a dream last night about minecraft. It is very vague now, but I do remember being in some sort of forest, and the trees were quite dispersed, about 10 blocks between each. I don't remember what kinds of trees they were. The color was also very monotonous, almost all white. Then I saw myself facing a huge tree. Not a jungle tree, not a redwood nor a douglas fir, but something else. Again it is very vague so I don't remember what it was, but looking at it now it seems to me that it might have been a Eucalyptus Regnans, A.K.A mountain ash. I know little of this tree, but it grows in Tasmania and Australia and grows to be a considerable height, up to 400 feet (not anymore) but do not live long. I'll think on this subject, and tell you what's going on with it as I progress. I will keep updating the redwoods though, first things first.

Looks like a quite interesting tree indeed. I personally think (if ever) you decide to throw douglas firs, eucalyptus and sequoiadendron all with redwoods into the mix, it's gonna get a little packed with huge trees. A mod with all these as well as possibly a few more trees and smaller vegetation would be perfect.

Have you ever thought on bringing back sequoiadendrons?

Thank for the support and feedback! What I was thinking about the biomes though, was to make the conifer needles in the temperate forest a lighter green. Although I don't think the redwoods should grow to be like normal pines, because if you've ever looked at pictures or even seen them in real life, they're huge. The only recorded redwoods to be at least 20 feet tall (about the height of the average pines) are albino redwoods, a parasite redwood lacking in chlorophyl that survives by "sharing" the roots of a healthy redwood. Also notice in the landscape picture of the new biome, that there are only 4 redwoods. This shows that they would spawn very rarely (almost exclusively in larger versions of the biomes) but not grow small, making up for their rarity. Otherwise I like your ideas.

I'm fine with how the redwoods are right now. And Gypsy I find your drop creeper idea ridiculous.

The fact that he's newly spawned immediately proves that he created an account just for this. Worthless creature.

Reported. This specimen doesn't deserve to exist.

UPDATE: The Douglas Firs, if I decide to definitively add them, will be in the taiga biome, as it would make the redwood forest too crowded. I came up with a short list of possible mobs. Here it is:

-No Name Yet: A spider sized, owl/eagle-like bird that flies at heights of about 30-50 blocks relative to sea level, and once the player comes in the chunk the bird is flying in, it would swoop down and attack the player, knocking him/her back and dealing 2 hearts of damage with each strike. Its hitpoints would be 10 hearts and it would drop feathers and/or some other item upon death.

-Wood Golem: A neutral mob, the wood golem would only attack if attacked. Being 2 blocks large and 3 blocks wide, it would be a stocky creature with wood-like skin and conifer needles growing around it body. Deals 2 hearts of damage and has hitpoints of 15 hearts. Would drop redwood/conifer saplings, wood, and/or some other item upon being killed.

-Bear: The name says it all. It would look like a bear and behave like a bear. A hostile mob, it would spawn in the day but not at night. 10 hearts of hitpoints and deals 2 1/2 hearts of damage.

-Puddle: These would be hostile mobs, but having the same AI as slimes. They would be blue, relatively flat, and would slide on the ground instead of jumping. They would leak around much like water when climbing blocks, but not being transparent, not making water rushing noise and it would move along with the puddle, being its body. Would move at a rate of 1 block per second and would spawn only during foggy times, at any time of the day/night cycle.

-Ghost: These would be human sized and with steve's face, but with gleaming white eyes. They would be either light gray or transparent of a certain tone, ranging from white to grey. They would have their arms out like zombies, would slide on the ground to make a floating-esque gesture, and would move at a rate of 2 blocks per second. They would emit low howling sounds or be completely silent. 10 hearts of hitpoints and 2 hearts of damage w/ knockback. Would spawn only at night during foggy times, and would actually be quite rare with a chance of spawning like the spider jockey. Would drop ghost tears/ragged cloth or something else.

    What do you guys think?

Excellent ideas, I especially like the bird. Not so much for the ghost though, I have a bit of a hard time imagining ghosts in such beautiful forests. Maybe in npc villages/strongholds?

For the new redwood forest biome, maybe add a new type of structure: a fallen tree. They would be in a circular 3x3 shape, and 1-2 would spawn in each redwood forest. They would be fallen redwoods (hollow, but breaching is needed to get inside)and about 20 blocks long, and inside would be a special monster spawner, possibly for silverfish or another new mob. When the spawner is destroyed, it would drop 3 redwood saplings, because you wouldn't be able to get them fron living redwoods. Maybe?

This is an excellent idea. In fact, one of the best ideas for trees i've seen. As shown in the picture they're well built and structured. I support +1
