STOP saying the criticism is "pointless" If your being criticized then it's probably because SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR IDEA! Try fixing it instead of whining about "pointless" criticism.
sorry had to get that out of my system.
Then MAYBE people should better explain their criticism
I always liked the idea of having more powerful mobs that are rarer than others, but everything else is a bad idea.
Please explain how the rest is bad. I'd like to know, so that I can improve it's design
Ill explain:
Teleporting the player is a really cheap attack and makes no sense. if the mob king can warp you to a 'prison' then why cant he warp you to a lava pool? it would be more fun to fight him where you find him.
Adding a GIANT SKELETON that only attacks you if you attack it is inconsistent (normal always attack).
Having an enemy that only exists on hard is unfair to everyone playing on normal and easy.
Well, I guess it would make sense to go to a lava pool, and it only exists on Hard because he is a VERY difficult Mob. Or were you not reading the part where I said how powerful he is? If he existed on Normal and Easy, he would be pretty hard for that difficulty, but he would do less damage, which wouldn't make the fight fun. I honestly never thought of putting him in a lava pool! That's a great idea, especially since maybe when he dies, he melts, and the lava goes into the pool in the middle. Thanks for it! And you did a pretty good job actually explaining why it was bad, unlike some people who posted on my Excalibur thread >.>
Airships on the other hand, would make travel far too simple. I see your argument that they would be very difficult to make, but even so I think that airships would give the player far too much control over mobility. It would be a game breaking addition imho.
You think Airships would be broken? Check out my thread on Excalibur and see just how broken THAT is!
All the diamond in Minecraft shouldn't be enough to make a 1-hit-obliterate (except obsidian) sword that has 900 THOUSAND uses.[/quote]
No, it has OVER 900 MILLION! uses, so it still breaks, and I DID say that it doesn't give you anything back when you break stuff with it, and this is a MAGICAL sword. why do I keep getting pointless criticism?
I said myself that it is VERY overpowered, and someone just states that even though I did in the original post myself >.> what is this world coming to?
If you knew it was overpowered then there was no point in suggesting it. Overpowered is a bad thing.
Yes, it is, but not so bad when it comes with a huge cost, like I said at the end... And now, that cost is a bit bigger with the long comment I posted. That makes 2 pointless criticisms already... wow

So, I was thinking, and then realized that the closest thing we have to a Mob King would be a giant skeleton (which aren't even in Minecraft, but could easily be added). Anyway, no focusing on giant enemies in this. The Mob King will almost never try to kill you, NEVER burns in the sun, and NEVER let's his guard down. His attacks come in 3 forms: Fireball (Ghast), Arrow barrage (skeleton), and a lunging attack. But, his attacks aren't to use on you, but to use on other Mobs, and he will only attack you if you attack him, but when he attacks YOU, he uses sort of a Nether Portal thing, but it sends you to a lava pool, but not into it so that he can fight you. The only way to escape is to kill him! But, this fight is kind of like a boss. He can take a lot of hits from even a diamond sword. This is the only time he will use his attacks on you. Also, you need to be careful, because you might get knocked into the lava! After about 10 or 12 hits from a diamond sword, he will have an epic death animation. Here, I'll describe it the best I can: He starts burning, and then exploding, and his crown falls off, and he turns into a pool of lava, and you can take his crown! The crown can be used as armour, and it makes it so that Skeletons won't attack you, but every other mob will still attack you. He also has a VERY rare chance of dropping the magic he used to fire his fireballs.
The Mob King looks like a big Skeleton, with a golden crown. He also wears spiky diamond armour. When you see him in the lava pool, he is sitting upon a thrown of mossy cobblestone. This guy is HARD without at LEAST Iron armour. His attacks will do about 5 hearts per hit, and the Arrow Barrage, does the same per arrow as a normal skeleton, but he fires a ton of them, and it is very hard to avoid. He will only appear if you have entered the Nether, and on Hard Mode.
NEW: Other rare forms of encountering King Mobs: Sometimes spawn in their own castles, will not teleport you if found in a castle, but instead just fight you right there. Other times, one might spawn riding a Ghast in the Nether. They don't spawn specifically in the Nether though. The rarest occurrences are when you see one on a Ghast in the overworld, and when you see one riding a Skeletal Dragon. If you manage to kill one riding a Skeletal Dragon, you can take it for your own! It even comes with a saddle, so you don't need to use one.
OK, you guys won, it will have 2 bars, one normal (for the weapon durability itself), and one a different color (for the laser), and yeah, i wasn't sure whether to use cobblestone or mossy cobblestone, but you guys said it should be mossy cobblestone, so you guys also won that, and 1 person suggested that instead of gold blocks, they should be diamond, and, yeah, that WOULD make it cost more. It will break after: 957 653 781 uses (a lot, right?), so it SEEMS like it will last forever, but doesn't. The laser has 1000 uses, enough to take on a swarm of mobs. And someone also suggested that it breaks obsidian in 2 hits, instead of 1, which makes a bit more sense, since obsidian is the toughest breakable block in the game. No one suggested this, but I forgot to mention that it will regain it's laser abilities if dropped in water, but doesn't regain it all the way. It will regain 1 laser blast every 5 minutes, and you also have to put Excalibur back into the stone for it to work (which is done the same as when it was a gold sword).
OK, for sure it needs a new name. I would call this the Land of Paradise or something like that... I really like the Night Knight idea, but one thing is missing: does he ride a horse, or is he on foot? IF he is on a horse, can you ride the horse after he is dead?
So, basically, my idea is this: Notch's Blade. This weapon is VERY over-powered (ignore that. Read some of the posts later on to see that it has been pretty weakened), and is VERY costly to make. First of, you need a gold sword, then you take some mossy cobblestone, and put it under the sword in the crafting menu, and you get a sword in a stone. You then have to place it somewhere in water, then surround it in diamond blocks. Leave it undisturbed for 12 Minecraft Days. After that, open up the diamond blocks, and right click the sword, and there you go! Notch's Blade. it has high durability. This sword can break ANYTHING in one hit even diamond and obsidian, but it doesn't give you anything back, so be careful! You don't even get items from enemies when you kill them with this weapon, so it's useful when up against a horde of creeps, spiders, zombies, skeletons, and spider-riding skeletons! It's beam can also off TNT from a safe distance away.
So, to some it up, it is an extremely powerful weapon, but comes with a huge cost.

ummm... what was the point of that? If there is no point, just don't do that on threads that talk about ideas >.>
