posted a message on What time period is Minecraft based in?
Minecraft exists in the extremely far future. Between now and then, there were a few nuclear wars and a dozen magical nuclear wars. Hence the mobs and Steve.

But seriously, I believe that each world starts at "year zero" and progress as the days go by.

I may have watched too much Doctor Who but I think Arcadia or Mondas would be good names.

I'm still here. Why would they ban me anyway?

Because somebody tattled on you? Anyways, I spent the last minute or so laughing when I saw how many people didn't read the last line of the original post. Good stuff.

posted a message on What did you do.
Before I bought the game, I watched my roommate die a few times from some creepers. So when I got the game and saw my first one, I ran towards my base but couldn't get to it quick enough to escape it.

Afterwards, I had to redo the who front of my base/hole-in-a-hill.

Love the story, but why are spiders neutral at day?

Maybe they don't care unless skeletons are around...which is at night.

posted a message on Did cobblestone get lighter?
I didn't even notice the texture change until I went back to my base/castle. My water/waste canal has moss stone and I immediately noticed the difference.

Makes me wish that moss stone was updated to match the cobblestone since it now sticks out like a sore thumb.

posted a message on Speeding up your minecraft with out downloads
    Quote from Swampydew

This is very simple. press control alt delete, a window will pop up click the button that says task manager, click the applications button on the task manager window, right click minecraft, click go to process, there will be a highlighted word it should say java, right click on java and click set priority, click high, or realtime if your computer can handle it on my comp i click real time and it goes 160 fps on far :biggrin.gif: hope this helped!! note that if you do this for to long you can come across lots of lag because this strains your computer!!

I tried setting priority on high and really didn't see any noticeable improvements with the FPS. Since I'm working on a two year old laptop, I figure that real time would just crash my computer.

    Thanks for the advise though.

posted a message on Lightning Strikes
I've only been near a lightning strike once. It just set the grass it hit on fire and went out immediately. Every other lightning strike I've see has been in the distance and too far for me to see the results.

posted a message on Pigmen or Goblins?
Goblins seem to much like WoW and D&D to me...I wouldn't mind seeing them be the NPC's but I would prefer to see Pigmen.
