I personally do not believe there is hacking for good in Minecraft. For me it is like someone opening my fridge door after pay day.

posted a message on Strongestcraft (Xray resource packs, updated Apr. 27th 2015! Works with FTB, TFC & more mods!)

You are aware that these kind of things are against the rules of minecraft forum AND pretty much every server, right?

Directly quoted from the Minecraft Forum Rules:

SMP "hack" and "cheat" mods are allowed; however, any designed for griefing are not allowed.

Use of this mod on SMP servers is up to the discretion of the server administrators themselves, not the Minecraft Forum.

p.s. where is this "vanilla launch page"?

    Thanks!

You should be able to switch versions easily with the new Minecraft Launcher, regardless of what Operating System you're using. The instructions SuperSupermario24 posted are correct, and are the same for all platforms.

This can only mean one thing-- More Survival Island maps! :D

Also, I like the fact that you can now collect many of the different dye colors instead of crafting and wasting others now. Gone are the days of wasted bonemeal!

posted a message on Help Download Mgrs?
Norton is particularly notorious for causing havoc with Minecraft-- I would suggest using a different antivirus for the time being. Also, the need for a download manager is a bit silly, since all you really need to do is extract and/ or drag and drop certain files to the resourcepacks folder.

If you're attempting to download resource packs from different websites other than Minecraft Forum or Planet Minecraft, you're likely downloading from a non-trusted site, and who knows what's behind those downloads... :steve_shocked:

You can download resource packs on the Forums by clicking here

posted a message on [Solved]Magic Launcher not working for Forge.
    Quote from Jason_Hero
So i just realized, optifine was incompatible with forge. Not magic launcher. So problem solved.

Not true. Optifine works with Forge-- it has a specific method of installation. Magic Launcher is one of those methods, but doing it manually is also a possibility-- albeit, a more intensive method.

Here is the Optifine - Forge installation instructions (courtesy of sp614x):
    A. Easy
    - Use the official launcher to download and start once Minecraft 1.6.2.
    - Use the Forge installer to install Forge
    - Use the official launcher to start once Minecraft with the Forge profile.
    - Start Magic Launcher
    - Click "Setup"
    - Select Environment "Forge9.10.X.Y"
    - Click "Add" -> select the OptiFine ZIP file
    - Click "Advanced"
    - In the field "Parameters" add "-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true"
    - Click "OK"
    - Login and play

    B. Not so easy
(not working for Forge #780 and #781)
    - Use the official launcher to download and start once Minecraft 1.6.2.
    - Use the Forge installer to install Forge
    - Go to the minecraft base folder (the official launchers shows it when you click "Edit Profile" as "Game Directory")
    - Go in subfolder "Versions"
    - Go in subfolder "Forge9.10.X.Y"
    - Copy the files from the OptiFine ZIP file to "Forge9.10.X.Y.jar" as usual (you can use the 1.5.2 instructions for this) and remove the META-INF folder from "Forge9.10.X.Y.jar".
    - Start the official launcher
    - Select profile "Forge"
    - Click "Edit Profile"
    - Select the checkbox "JVM Arguments" and in the field next to it add
    "-Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true"
    - Click "Save Profile"

    - Click "Play" or "Login" to start the game. If only "Play Offline" is available, then log out and log in again to fix it.

As a sidenote, the only version of Optifine not compatible with Forge or ModLoader is the Lite version. All other versions of Optifine should work with the latest version of Forge.

I've used the manual "Not so easy" method of installing Optifine with Forge, and it works-- given the instructions followed above.

After that, all other forge-dependent mods can be dropped in to the 'mods' folder, regardless if it required the coremods folder or not.
