On the server-side and single-player side. I have been looking around for resetting maps and all I seem to be able to find is how to reset the whole playable map itself, which is not what I wanted, at all. I know how to reset a world map. I want to know how to reset or clear those little hand-held maps that are in-game.
In the server files, whenever someone makes an in-game or vanilla version map, the numbers start to pile really high. I would also like to know how to reset these maps so that I can start over with making maps around spawn first, then let others make however many they want.
How long have you played minecraft - Since early beta
Why would you like to join - Want to see what the snapshot is like on multiplayer, too lazy to set up my own dedicated server and watch over it as an admin. I'd like to just be a player for a while. Don't mind playing with the younger crowd, but would be nice to be chatting with people over the age of high school.
This is annoying, I agree. When I first set up server and ran it, others could connect to it. One restart later, nobody can connect to it, although the port is open and my ip hasn't changed. The program is allowed through the firewall and hell, I didn't change anything from the first time people were able to join it. Running Win7 here, and I have never had an issue with running servers off my computer before like this.
Going to try to delve deeper into this issue, but damn if this problem isn't the .exe itself!
EDIT:
Welp, I had to uninstall Hamachi to make it work. The port is free and clear now, and no issues for people to connect to it.
Realistically: I would wtf happened and probably call some people to help me remember why I am suddenly the opposite gender... then eventually start touching myself.
Point-blank: I wouldn't be mad, I would find it to be an ADVENTURE. I would also be sure to buy lots of oils/tissues.
Could someone tell me what i am doing wrong, i cant seem to get the height mod working with 1.9pre2 server, i drag the file into the server.jar but nothing happens which was to be expected, but when i try to follow the instructions on how to install the mod i cannot use them because im not applying the to the home copy of minecraft im applying them to the server version. I konw im going to end up sounding like a newb, but would someone mnd walking me through the steps to properly mod the 1.9pre2 server?
Listen up. You don't see the OP talking about servers at all. His instructions are for single player, do you know why? Because THIS IS FOR SINGLE PLAYER, NOT MULTIPLAYER.
I will further explain to you that by multiplayer, I mean the "server version" you somehow think is the same thing.
Make sure when you want to add a mod to your "server version" that the mod is made to work for the "server version". Otherwise you really do look like an idiot. You should have just asked "Is there a server version for this?" or better yet, look for the server version of it yourself.

Obviously, I am a tool and should learn to read more myself.
Im reporting mods here, since there was no admin on when i found out.
First of all, Xray, both CJB and Zombe works. CJB lets you find chests.
Secondly, Zombe's mobfinder works. You can see where mobs are.
Third, I'm not sure if this is an illegal mod, but CJB's minimap also shows players
Fourthly, Zombe's "Cheat" mod disables fall damage. It works.
Thats all folks. :biggrin.gif:
Thank you for reporting these, they are all known. :biggrin.gif:
Yep, as most servers can have, but we find the damage and we reverse the effects as if they were never there, then ban the account that did it. It is called "aggressive administration" that is quite active. :smile.gif:
Sigh well leave it for someone who doesn't care about petty **** in a game that's suited for the entire world. In a community driven for a planet not just one dictionary. Enjoy have fun and thank you very much for the ever so useful help.
It was a simple question, not an insult. I had difficulty reading it and my first thought was that English was not your first language. I do hope you read my edited post. :biggrin.gif:
and i say "wow" 2 speedyest reply for a devolper ever award
anything u can think of that would cause a server to crash out?
its on player joins and view-distance has been at 15 a lough since another member suggested it i lowered it to ten to try and intricate anything that could be wrong, im left only with this sorry bud=d we did it 5-10 times to ensure it was the minimap. Then at the admins disbelief he tryed everythin else to crash the server with little success, loading minimap would do it instantly.
I finding it hard to understand myself the hosting will probably find problem and its prob bsd side but i thought to pop in here quickly might help issue sumwhat. Way i figured it would be doing everything client side and server side is not being affected at all but the tests dictate otherwise.
... Is english your fourth language or something?
**EDIT**
It was explained to me what the gist of what you were saying was.
All I have to say is this: When you are the only person that seems to have this issue, you need to look at what else you have going on. I can't say that I trust your methods of testing either, but that is simply because I cannot understand what exactly your method is.
Here is what you need to do to actually see if it is the minimap causing the issue: Get the log of the error, from the console of the server itself. See what errors the server gives before crashing. This is a very basic and simple step to see what is causing issues with the server.
I am very sure since you have such a VAST prior knowledge of how to run a server that you know exactly how to read the error spam on the console. I am sure you just overlooked this step because it is so obvious. It's okay, nobody is perfect.

Surely there must be a way to do this?

Incredibly useful, however.

Also, I use this to check to see if my server is available to others:

and this to check on the status of minecraft itself:

Does that mean you are still working on it, or are you stopped just because other people aren't doing the work for you?

Xray has already been neutered, however.
