3 mile island was not a melt down it was a minor accident and was fixed before anything happened. When I mean less explosive I mean the left over spent nuclear fuel. By west I basically mean the EU and north America are considered the western first world nation.

    Counter arguments
More nuclear plants means more nuclear fuel could get into the hands of crazy dictators.

    Expensive to construct.

Fuel can be expensive and hard to transport.

Spent nuclear fuel and the control rods have to be monitored and kept track of or else they could leak massive amounts of radiation.

Nuclear power would also be good for my home state Kansas. Kansas part of it has uranium deposits. So much we have to have a pump to remove radioactive radon from our house. Just a little interesting fact that is kinda on topic.

Depending on how many friends you got you might want more ram and make sure you got the net connection to run it. I really have no idea how a pentium4 is going to run hosting.

sure if you consider playing minecraft the same thing as 'gaming'. But even a laptop that runs minecraft on far/fancy is going to be a few hundred more than a desktop that does.

Minecraft is a game. Gaming is playing games.

I'm not saying that laptops are a cheaper way to game all I'm saying is laptops can play most games just fine my several year old laptop handles black ops just fine. Granted BO is not a graphically intense game.

Saying that laptops suck for gaming is just wrong its gaming with more mobility.

Plus the plant in Japan was about to be shutdown because the plant was so old. No major nuclear event has ever happened in a western country. Plus there are newer reactions that produce very little nuclear waste compared to older reactors and much less explosive.

Laptops are not terrible for gaming. I have my laptop for some of the minor games I play when I'm not home and they do that fine. Most modern laptops with an AMD graphics card even if an IGP will play minecraft fine and Starcraft 2 fine.

I like how the article mentions some people who got laid off head of marketing. AMD really never advertises just find that kinda funny how some of the lay offs was that division.

AMD also sold off it's foundry's and formed Global foundries maybe some of the employees were related to working on the foundries and were no longer needed.

Tho if AMD tanks it would be the end of the x86 cpu. Intel cpu prices would shoot up. ARM would probably take over.

What happens to AMD patents if AMD would sell the x64 license to some one who could beat Intel in a legal battle as a final Fu to Intel. No x64 license no 64bit operating systems. This would also bring about the death of x86.

Intel if it got into the ARM market would be going up against Texas Instrument a company roughly 3 times the size of AMD.

AMD doesn't have to go down all together. They could just cut out of the Highend CPU part of the market completely and just make graphics and APUs.

I doubt this would happen AMD still has potential.

The AMD 7xxx will release before the geforce cards giving AMD another early entry into next gen graphics. Lano and the other APUs are doing very well in the cpu market. AMD is doing well maybe not in the gaming cpu market, but that is the smaller part of the market.
