Actually, tekkit is already updated to 1.3.2. I want the mod to play on the Ponycraft server which hasn't updated yet, though funny thing you would mention tekkit- I'm using the tekkit launcher to play vanilla, because since the new update the new download of the mc launcher doesn't work on my Mac.

The time has come to move on. The time has come for the end of the mod.

With the growing hate for non-forge mods I can not conceivably continue to work on this project.

Also, with absolutely no indication from Mojang that they have any plans to fix or improve villages or villager behavior (AI) I can see no reason to continue this project. Even though tens of thousands of people show interest in the subject of villages and villagers expanding, nothing has been changed since villages were first introduced way back in beta. Villages are not the only structures to be seemingly forgotten...

Anyway, thank you all for the past support, I am unemployed and must concentrate on my own life and well being at the moment. My family must come first, so I bid you all good farewell and bless you.

August: NO forge. I REPEAT! No forge version. Unless someone else does it. I do not have the time.

    *** July, 2013***

Update to Minecraft 1.6.2 is available!

With the recent zombie infiltration the villagers have decided to expand into new territories.

This mod allows villages to generate in all major biomes. Forest, Extreme Hills, Jungle, Taiga, Swamp, Ice Plains, and of course the normal Plains and Desert.

Now that the villagers have had time to get more familiar with newly discovered regions, they have started upgrading their buildings with new materials! Forests, Extreme Hills, Jungles, and Taigas buildings have all taken on new looks. No new buildings yet, that is to come perhaps. But enjoy the new look and feel of villages everywhere.

Please do backups before trying any new mods.

*Note: New villages will only appear in new chunks. Old chunks (from existing worlds) will remain unchanged. So travel, or start a new world to see the new look of the villages.*

I'm including three downloads, a "Normal" version, a "Medium" version, and a "Extreme" version. The "Normal" version is default minecraft spawning. The "Medium" version has double the chance as "Normal", and the "Extreme" version has double the chance as "Medium". The "Extreme" version is mainly for fun and testing.

Client and Server - Install in the .jar file.
For minecraft 1.6.x if you are using the launcher the install directions have changed check here for a brief on how to mod your minecraft now:

    Village Logic Add-on!!

    (April, 2013)

Have you ever wanted an underground village? Do you hate that mountain overhangs can make doors invalid? Well worry no longer! With this insanely awesome add-on doors no longer need any line of sight to a skyblock!

That's right! Now you can build a village anywhere and have valid doors the villagers will use. There is only two things you need to remember:

    1. A placed door must have at least two air blocks behind it before the villagers will consider it a home.
    2. Have fun!

Example use of this new add-on?

Better control of your villagers population. Want one huge building for your villagers, but only one visible door? Hide the other doors underground!

Put mod in minecraft.jar, of course. :)

ziddia posted a message on [1.4.6/1.4.7/1.5.2] The Hat Fortress 2 Mod: Crates, Keys, and HATS.
    Recent News and Updates:

A beta for Minecraft 1.5.2 has been released on the latest Forge version as of 12th May 2013. Beta will be updated every 2 - 5 days, keep an eye on the post to keep updated if you want. Full release estimated for mid to late May. Please report any bugs via PM, via this post, or via the forums. I keep up downloads of previous versions and changelogs here: http://zidmc.x10.bz/...ions/index.html

If you'd rather not download the beta version (it's actually very stable and awesome), then links for Minecraft 1.4.6/1.4.7 are available below. That download will require ML for 1.4.7. Please don't report any bugs - there's lots of them in that version, but almost all are fixed in the 1.5.2 beta, so I'm focusing on that.

Forums are offline at the moment while I get this beta working. Expect a new forum to be made under a new URL soon.

I highly recommend reading this spoiler; I spoiled because it was just way too long. It has lots of info on the 1.5.2 beta.

    Quote from ziddia

Another update out for the beta; lots of content available in this one. No video yet, though, as I want to go through another couple beta versions before making another video.

Once again, it requires Minecraft Forge (it was written on the latest release as of May 12th).

The server on g-oogle.net is running the new beta already.

    Full changelog for this version:

    CHANGELOG: HF 3.0 BETA 3
    - Added the following hats:
    - The Milkman (Available in Unusual quality)
    - The Creeper Mask (Available in Unusual quality)
    - The Front Runner (Available in Unusual quality)
    - The Last Breath
    - The Dragonborn Helm (Available in Unusual quality)
    - The Warsworn Helmet (Available in Unusual quality)
    - The Gentleman's Ushanka (Available in Unusual quality)
    - The Cold Killer (Available in Unusual quality)
    - The War Pig (Available in Unusual quality)

    - Added the Server Mode system. This system allows server owners to control what
event mode the system is running. The following modes are currently available:
    - Mode 0: default, no event
    - Mode 1: Beta Mode, distributes a Beta Pack and Premium Pack to players
the first time they join the server
    - Mode 2: Premier Mode, distributes a Premier Pack to players the first
    time they join the server

Other, planned modes are Halloween (Halloween unusuals, goodie cauldron) and Christmas
(double drop rate, christmas items). Modes can be changed using /smode <mode number>
(example: /smode 1 will change to beta mode).
    - Added two Packs:
    - The Beta Pack contains a Genuine Tuxedo and 5 keys.
    - The Premier Pack contains 5 Premier Crates and 6 nice cosmetics.

    - Added the Premier Crate, which can contain a random hat, a random dye, some amount of
diamonds between 1 and 4, or a double chance for an unusual (4% instead of 2%).
    - Moved all Unusuals to the new 'Unusuals' creative mode tab to avoid clogging.
    - Moved keys and packs to the new 'Packs & Extras' creative mode tab.

You have two options to install this new update. The first option is to use a basic system I set up on my website to make all future and past versions available, with changelogs and downloads: http://zidmc.x10.bz/...ions/index.html

The second is to just use the Dropbox links.
    Client: https://dl.dropboxus...Client Beta.zip

    Server: https://dl.dropboxus...Server Beta.zip

Both ways to get the content are fine, and I will be keeping both running.

    Introduction

For those of you who have played the popular game Team Fortress 2 before, you probably know what a HUGE DEAL hats are. When you're deep into the trading market like I am, they become even more important.

Recently, I was browsing a TF2 trading website. I found a particular post which stated 'why doesn't someone mod crates, keys, and hats into Minecraft?'. I thought this was a brilliant idea, so I went ahead and did it. This is the result.

    The Info

This modification ('mod') to Minecraft adds a multitude of new features which are designed to enrich and enhance the game's experience. I'll list all the new features below.

    This mod will:
    • Add a collection of crates to the game, from which items can be extracted.
    • Add keys to the game, which can be used to unbox items from crates.
    • Add a collection of new pieces of headgear, collectively known as The Hats.
    • Allow crates to have a very small chance of dropping an Unusual Hat, which is just like an ordinary hat, but with a particle effect.
    • Adds some new functionality and weapons to the game, with the intent of replicating certain other elements of TF2 (strange weapons that track kills, more projectile and bullet-based weapons).
    The Logic Behind It

This may seem well and good, but you might be asking yourself 'how does this work?'.
Upon your death in TF2, you have a small chance of receiving a crate or another item. Keys can then be bought from the store to unbox these crates. Since I in no way want to profit from other people's creations, I have created this implementation so that crates and keys both have a chance of dropping.

What exactly are the chances? Crates have a 20% chance of dropping every five minutes. Keys have a 5% chance. This seemed close enough to the Key:Crate ratio in TF2.

As for unboxing, the logic behind that is slightly more complicated. In general, you will receive a normal item which could be achieved in-game easily. However, you also have a 2% chance of unboxing an Unusual Hat. It took me 33 tries exactly to get my first legitimate unusual, so I can vouch for their rarity.

There are many unusuals available, but some are currently not unboxable except at Halloween. Once I finish non-Halloween effects, there will be over 20 different hats. There are currently around 10 + 10 Halloween-only.

    Pics or no download.

Hopefully, a video will suffice. This video was recorded on the 1.5.2 beta, things look very different in the 1.4.6/1.4.7 release.

    The new demo.

    Less Meta, More Mod!

Happy to oblige! The current version of this mod is version 2.1.0. It includes 11 crates and many obtainable unusual hats (now over 100!)

The client is using a mod called UnlimitedSpritesAPI, which is bundled in the download. All credit goes to Leow_Pinheiro (http://www.minecraft.../#entry20227414).

Client Supporter Download (adf.ly, just if you want to help me out): Here!

    Client Download: Link Removed

Installation for Client: Install ModLoader and then my Client. My MLMP brand and the Sprite API are bundled.

Server Supporter Download (again, adf.ly, direct link below): Here!

    Server Download: Link Removed

Installation for Server: Install my server - don't delete META-INF.

    The Server List

Want to find a Hat Fortress server? Operational servers running the latest version of the mod can be found here. Note that they may not be 24/7, which means that you might have to try a few to find the one you want!
    • Ziddia's Semi-Official Hat Fortress Server - g-oogle.net (should be very close to 24/7)
I'm throwing my money at the screen, but nothing happens! (AKA: Donations?)

Due to people telling me 'YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY TAKE DONATIONS FOR THIS ZID' I've opened up a Paypal account, which is something I should have done ages ago anyway but whatever. Donations over Steam in TF2 items are also absolutely acceptable and encouraged (I can turn the items into money for the forums and such anyway).

If you want to donate, you can donate to the forums, or to me personally. Donations to the forums will be used to help keep up my websites, and the HF2 forums, and donations to me buy my coffee.

If you want to donate to the forum, click here.
If you want to donate to me, click here.

Donors will receive a reward of ANY 3 items of their choice in the server. Make sure to add your Minecraft username to the notes.

    How can I help?

You'll be helping if you just post here, express your happiness or dislike, and give me some tips on how to make it better! However, if you want to help out in development, you can help me make a hat or come up with contents for the next crate series. To help with a hat, post with pictures and/or textures as you want them to be. If your hat is selected, it will have a side-note stating that it was created by you (with your username). To help with crate drops, just post ideas here.

You can also help by adding pictures to the gallery. Even if you just want to show off all your insane amount of crates and keys, or you want everyone to see the awesome unusual you just found, post a pic, and I'll add it in.

    Current Contributors:

    - Collectionshower - main graphic designer, creator of hats such as the Goo Collection, the Tuxedo, and the Bot-A-Hat
    - Arkoonius - hat designer, creator of hats such as the Warsworn, Football, and Front Runner
    - Nexonoid - hat designer, creator of hats such as the Battery Bandolier, Robot Running Man, and U-Clank-A

    Dem Tags - Trading?

Trading is now on the way, as soon as I find a copy of MLMP for 1.8.1.

    End of the non-spoiler line

Note that a lot of the stuff underneath this portion is outdated as of the 1.5.2 beta, but current for 1.4.6/1.4.7 release. I will be updating this for 1.5.2 as soon as the beta is over.

For those who want to avoid spoilers, I really hope you enjoy this! I've put a fair amount of thought into this, and I tried to make it as enjoyable as I could. Please post bugs and basically whatever you want below. Really, even if you just say 'I love this mod!', it makes me want to continue it.

    Spoilers Ahead!

    Unusuals Available

Currently, there are roughly 20 variations of unusuals obtainable - ones for the majority of hats. Some of these (such as the Witch's Hat) are only obtainable with certain effects (in this case, only Halloween effects).

    Obtainable Unusuals:

There are simply too many hats to list. I will be making a wiki as soon as is possible.

    Unusual effects are:

    - Portal
    - Hearts
    - Burning
    - Smoke
    - Dripping
    - Blizzard
    - Note
    - Oozing
    - Flaming
    - Bubbles
    - Blizzardy Storm
    - Nuts n Bolts (select hats)
    - Stormy Storm
    - Full Moon (unreleased)
    - Massed Flies
    - Green Energy (not unboxable yet)
    - Purple Energy (not unboxable yet)
    Halloween effects:
    - Bleeding Moon
    - Eerie Burning Flames
    - Cauldron Bubbles

    Crate Contents

There are currently twelve crates spanning 11 series available. All crates have a 2% chance to unbox an unusual. Crates from 10 and up (excluding 11) include Strange weapons, rather than normal ones.

    Crafting Hats

You can currently craft a large variety of hats in HF2. These can be crafted using a Hat Crafting Token, which is itself crafted like so:

#X# (where # is Refined Metal and X is a key)

Notice: Any Tokens crafted prior to the recipe change have turned Vintage (there are around a full stack of them in existence on the server).

    Mod Spotlight Video!

Thanks to Minecrafted on Youtube for this!

    Unusual effects gallery

Hoping to get a video out soon.

While not a 'spoiler', I think that some people may want to discover these on their own.

I'll be adding to this as I make them and get good screens.

    Thanks for over 40000 downloads!

    Before downloading:
    For version 1.2 and up:
This mod requires McForge Api (
build 6.6.0.497 or higher) to work and I recommend you to use Mob Spawn Control to control the amount of mobs that are spawned in this mod. For a guide on how to do this and how to add the Biomes O Plenty spawning see the Installation section! The ExtraBiomesXLsupport is automatically applied when installed but you can always check out the MSC section for how to get better spawning. Not a lot of mobs spawn by default? Also check out the MSC section :)

When updating from the last version:
o Check your sound files, there might be duplicates now that the extension has changed.

    o Re-new the config file
o Go to newly loaded chunks for the new mobs (unless using the newly added DefaulSpawnConfigs to use with MSC)

    SSP Installation:

    - Step 1: Install Minecraft Forge (build 6.6.0.497 or higher)) and optionally Mob Spawn Control.
    - Step 2: Download Atmosmobs from the link above.
    - Step 3: Unzip the contents of the downloaded zip. You should have a resources and mods folder now.
    - Step 4: Go to your start menu (or search bar) and type: %appdata%
    - Step 5: Go to the .minecraft folder in the folder that just opened.
    - Step 6: Copy the resources and mods folder to this folder.
    - Step 7: Play :)

SMP Installation (Note: I'm not a SMP pro but I hope this works. Also I think every player that connects to your server has to have the mod)

    - Step 1: Obtain the server.jar from Minecraft.net
    - Step 2: Install Forge's latest server build into that.
    - Step 3: Run the server and when it's done booting: Type "stop" in the console and press enter.
    - Step 4: Delete the just created World folder and drop the mods folder from the download to the mods folder that the server just created.
    - Step 5: Start up the server again :)
    (Hope that works)

Mob Spawn Control Guide (for Biomes O Plenty support AND MORE!)

This guide requires Mob Spawn Control to be installed. It makes it possible for the player to adjust spawning to his/her liking.
    Default Guide:
When installed run the game once without making a new world. Then open up your .minecraft folder. You will see a DefaultSpawnConfiguration.txt which has been created by MSC. When you open it you will see an easy overview of all biomes and mob spawns. You can choose to change spawns using this txt file.
HOWEVER it is easier to actually go IN-GAME open a test-world and change the spawns using the F6 key. When done, open up your save folder in the .minecraft folder and find the folder of the test-world. You will see a SpawnConfiguation.txt which has exactly the same layout as the DefaultSpawnConfiguration.txt. Just rename the SpawnConfiguation.txt to DefaultSpawnConfiguration.txt and copy it to the .minecraft folder so it overwrites the original DefaultSpawnConfiguration.txt. Now every world you make will have the spawn configuration you made in the test-world.
Pre-made Configuration Spawning Guide (Biomes O Plenty etc.)
When installed, go to the AtmosMobsv1.3.2_MC1.4.7.zip which is what you downloaded to get this mod. Open it (before or after extracting) and you will see a folder called MSC configs. Open it and you will see all kinds of DefaultSpawnConfiguration.txt files. The name indicates the function.
(BiomesOPlenty-normal)DefaultSpawnConfiguration = increased normal spawning in th normal biomes and the Biomes O Plenty Biomes
(BiomesOPlenty-special)DefaultSpawnConfiguration = this makes it so all AtmosMobs mobs spawn like monsters in the normal biomes and the Biomes O Plenty Biomes. They despawn, but they keep spawning around the player like monsters at night, Recommended to not use this with MoCreatures unless you tweak the configuration because it increases spawning A LOT.
(ExtraBiomesXL-normal)DefaultSpawnConfiguration= increased normal spawning in the normal biomes and the ExtraBiomesXL Biomes
(ExtraBiomesXL-special)DefaultSpawnConfiguration = this makes it so all AtmosMobs mobs spawn like monsters in the normal biomes and the ExtraBiomesXL Biomes. They despawn, but they keep spawning around the player like monsters at night, Recommended to not use this with MoCreatures unless you tweak the configuration because it increases spawning A LOT.
(OnlyAtmosMobs-normal)DefaultSpawnConfiguration = increased normal spawning in the normal biomes
(OnlyAtmosMobs-special)DefaultSpawnConfiguration = this makes it so all AtmosMobs mobs spawn like monsters in the normal biomes. They despawn, but they keep spawning around the player like monsters at night. Recommended to not use this with MoCreatures unless you tweak the configuration because it increases spawning A LOT.

Open your .minecraft folder and copy the configuration that you want to there. Rename it to exactly: DefaultSpawnConfiguration.txt. If you already have one, overwrite it. Now all newly made worlds should have the new spawning. If nothing happens make sure that MSC didnt overwrite the config again. This happens somtimes.

I really recommend the special ones, they really make AtmosMobs a more fun experience! MIND THOUGH because mobs spawn LIKE monsters, you need to have the game on Easy or higher difficulty.
Adjust DefaultSpawnConfiguration to your liking to optimize your experience.

Turning off mobs and features and changing item IDs:

When you want to turn OFF mobs completely easely, then you can't use the pre-made configurations for MSC. You will need to make one off your own. See below how to do this easely.

Install the mod and run the game once. Close it and go tou your .minecraft folder. There should be a config folder here. Open it and you will find an AtmosMobs.cfg. Open it wit Notepad and you will see a list of values with explanation. Change true to false at the things you want to disable, like mobs and features. Change the item ID to a different number if you are having conflicts. Save the file and load up the game again. (If you use MSC and disabled mobs, make sure to delete the DefaultSpawnConfig so it can make a new one. Changes should have been applied.

To disable mobs but STILL use the pre-made configurations you will need to edit the DefaultSpawnConfig. An easy way to do this, is by copying the content to, for example, Word. Then replace all Atmosmobs.mobname{value, value, value} with nothing. Then move everything back to the config. This should prevent those mobs from spawning.

So now you can support me by donating, if you want. Im not expecting a lot but it would be awesome.

My Minecraft crashes on load. What do I do?
    Ask yourself the following questions:
    - Did I move all the files into the .minecraft folder?
    - Did I install Minecraft Forge API?
    - Did I remove the META-INF folder in the minecraft.jar?
    - Do I have item ID conficts with other mods? (check the crash report)
If none of these apply, then send me the crash report in a spoiler.
I have item ID conflicts. What do I do?
There should be a folder called config in your .minecraft folder. Check the contents and find teh AtmosMobs.cfg file. Open it with Notepad. Here you see all the item IDs and its respective items. Change the conflicting IDs and save. If the game works, it's fixed. If not, try another ID or if a new conflict occured, fix that one too.
I don't like Worms digging and Beavers creating dams (etc.). Can I turn it off?
here should be a folder called config in your .minecraft folder. Check the contents and find teh AtmosMobs.cfg file. Open it with Notepad. Here you see some settings in the General section. Change true to false behind the features that you want to turn off.
Does this mod work on LAN?
    Yes
Does this mod work on SMP?
It should, but minimal testing went into it. I would love some feedback on this.
How do I dismount Phoenix Wings?
    Press shift.
I found a bug. What do I do?
    Report it to me directly.
My game lags because of this mod's mobs. What do I do?
There are multiple actions that you can take:
    - Install Mob Spawn Control as mentioned in the Downloads section. It will give you the ability to reduce spawning or just turn off spawning of certain mobs.
    - Install Optifine to increase your performance (not sure if compatible with Forge though).
    - Change video settings in-game.
    - Maybe you are running to many programs at once. Close some.
    - Uninstall the mod. Your cpu might not be able to handle it.
Mobs are glitching through the floor. Why?
This occasionally happens and is caused by Minecraft itself. It especially happens when mounting and dismounting mobs. Birds can also do this from time to time. Sometimes punching them helps :3
    What happened to the poll?
    It will be back soon.
Can I join the AtmosMobs team?
Show me your skills in what you want to do for the team and I might just consider you as a new member. Tester, texturer, coder, modeller or wiki contributor. All fine.
Will there be a Modloader-only version?
    Probably not.
Will it be compatible with CustomMobSpawner again?
Maybe, but most people seem to prefer the original way of spawning mobs.
