Better performance due to a better gpu. Even though it is lower clocked it has more compute units and shaders. Well done for linking a reddit post from 4 MONTHS ago too, I'm sure it's very accurate.

Various sources and microsoft themselves have stated that the xbone is clocked at 853mhz and 1.75ghz. Also, the cpu wasn't downclocked, its clock was in fact increased from 1.6ghz which was the clock speed that the dev units were running.

Ps4 is a little more sketchy with the details but everything I've seen has stated 800mhz for the gpu and 1.6ghz for the cpu. Unless you have proof of ps4 running at higher speeds, I really just don't believe you.

I'm a skeptic about that as well, I can't find ANY proof that that's what the ps4 is running at. All I'm finding is 1.6ghz and the xbone running at 1.75, like I said previously.

There are articles released a day or two ago stating exactly what I said and the xbone has the higher clocks.

    Thanks guys!

Kekay, yes, I will be doing some ctm for stained glass, I'm actually just doing some tweaking to the stained glass as some of the colours seem a little more transparent than others (even though they aren't) so I'm going to be tweaking that and adding a framework for some ctm once I've finished exams. Ctm for this will be pretty easy though, just going to take a LOT of copying and pasting for each colour. :P

Nightmare, it's nice enough that you still pop in to see how I'm going, even if you aren't using the pack anymore. :D

Noppy, thanks, and yes, I love 16x <3
IMO still suits minecraft better than any other resolution. One of the reasons why I haven't done a full higher resolution pack like 64x or 32x...

Aynwho, I'll post some pics of the new redstone things I've reworked and also the furnace which I've tweaked up a little. Looks much better now!
New coal block and packed ice are after that and then I'll release the update (just a small one this time) as I said I would be releasing them more consistently now.

I have been working a bit on gui, but I will get to work on flowers soon.

Oooh interesting, is the gui going to be similar to the decorated stone stuff in the OP?

Can't wait to see those flowers too. :)

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. But I wasn't completely sure..

The numbers, even for a huge server, seem completely insane.. over 12k downloads in 11 days? It seems very unrealistic. But I gave it the benefit of the doubt that maybe it's just a huge server and an initial spike of downloads. Some of those overseas servers get insanely huge.

I hope it is just a large spike before dropping off... I don't want to lose my spot! :c

I really dislike how these packs for popular servers have less than 20% or something of the textures actually changed and then get an exorbitantly large amount of downloads in a small time. Makes all the effort put into my pack feel a little less worth it, even though I do just texture for fun...

posted a message on What do you think about this build?
I have no issues with my computer shutting down or anything and I'd still take an SSD over putting another $150 into a graphics card. Using it for opening larger programs is lovely, no more waiting for photoshop, autocad, solidworks, premiere, etc. Well worth the money IMO. OS does feel a little more snappy in general too IMO. No slowdowns when opening large folders or programs while doing something else at the same time.

    -snip-

IIRC the xbone actually had higher clocks for both cpu AND gpu than the ps4 although the ps4 has a stronger gpu and gddr5 vs ddr3 and esram in the xbone.

Xbone was at 1.75ghz for the cpu and 853mhz gpu while the ps4 was at 1.6ghz for cpu (unless this has changed recently) and 800mhz for the gpu.

OP, I would say that the specs don't matter a huge amount though, really. Just get whichever console you feel has exclusives more suited to your tastes. If you don't mind about exclusives too much for either side then I would suggest ps4 as it's cheaper and more powerful than xbone or even consider a pc.

I never said building a laptop, obviously that's not a particularly good idea. Laptop components cost a ridiculous amount of money to buy seperately anyway, might even be more expensive than buying a normal prebuilt one.

Anyways, do you actually NEED a laptop? Desktops generally do offer much better performance for the price.

I never said it was good, just stating the reason somebody would actually buy the thing. Some people don't need any other pci-e slots.

The whole point of it is the ability to mount your own fans so you can tweak it for silence or maximum cooling performance although it comes at the cost of size and fugly looks.

It does a good job of cooling though, much, MUCH better than the ref 290/290x cooler. That being said, I wouldn't buy one.

Building your own computer is as easy as lego, if not easier as the instructions are more clear and there are fewer parts. It's really not that difficult.

I do not think so. I doubt it would work since it grabs the texture from an entity, like the chest.

Hmmm, I thought it worked because conquest and maffhews pack both have one of the mob heads as a chest, possibly as a metadata value or something?

They also have normal zombies too.

Maybe they have the player head retextured or something... I'm not sure now... >.> <.<

Can't you just re-texture the zombie heads when they're placed down or something?
