Real nice stuff, matt, glad you finally released it! :)

I'm definitely gonna check it out later, think it looks great from the screenshots I've seen though (and the early test version I used)

Sorry it's taken me so long dinow!

Been very busy this past week getting stuff ready for uni next week. Hopefully these textures will do. You'll have to open them up in paint or something to make them separate 16x files though, sorry about that!

    6x zoom:

In other pack news, I'm almost done with the next update. I've done all alts for stairs and slabs and also I've made 2 alt textures for each sandstone too. :)

@n_jayne, thanks! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out too. I found it looks really sweet in fireplaces like it's glowing coals or something. Could also be of some use in a hellish type build but I definitely have no experience with that... :P

So can you sift through my 200+ model files and cleanly convert them (100% same rotations) to 1.9+? No? <_<

Were you one of the people who attempted to make a converter? If so, did you see the post that I made about the incomplete converter someone made (doesn't convert rotations properly) and me suggesting for someone to make a mod (or I suppose technically 2) that runs in 1.8 and takes measurements (be it screenshots or raycast distance) of all custom models and then attempts to most closely match that via brute-force minute changes (think machine learning!) until a closest match is found for each model. Perhaps using recorded data you could make some complicated formula that is able to do conversions outright.

Well I could probably get through them eventually (provided it is actually possible to have an equivalent 1.9+ version of their model code) but 200 is definitely a lot more than I'd be keen on doing! :P

I wasn't one of the people attempting to make a converter but depending on what I'm doing for uni this semester in my coding subjects it could actually be something I could do as a project. Means doing uni work and helping the community at the same time which would be a big plus.

If you guys are having trouble with some sort of modeling thing, feel free to send me a PM too, I can make/fix up the files for you and send them over. I've done enough with them now that it's honestly pretty quick and is no issue for me at all. :)

    Cool beans dude,

I'll be happy to download when it comes out.

Can't beat good looking wood :P

Shouldn't take too much longer now I think so hopefully not a long wait!
    Quote from Phoiyikas»

Sheep, the alt wood textures look amazing. Can't wait for the alt stone textures as well. Having just built a leviathan desert city, I would say that normal sandstone COULD use an alt texture, but that's just my two cents. Excited to see the new mobs too!

I agree, I think the red sandstone could do with an alt as well. Basically I think all natural textures should have at least one alternate to really hide any tiling and make the world seem a lot less 'gamey'.

I'll chuck in alts for both of them and their stairs/slabs (which should be a lot faster to do now that I've made a template).

    Hey Sheep!

I've been using your textures in my game for a while now, love them!

I'm currently playing a modpack that my boyfriend put together :)

Because you've been working on alternate wood textures I was wondering if you could possibly make two extra plank types, as a request!

I love the additional types of wood that mods add to the game but it can be annoying too if they don't match your texture pack whatsoever :P

The planks I'd love to see in your style are the Willow and Jacaranda tree planks from the Biomes 'o Plenty mod. :)

I totally understand if you don't want to/can't get into texturing for mods and modpacks so feel free to dismiss my request if you don't feel like doing it. ^_^

Screenshots of the planks' original textures:

    Jacaranda

    Hey dinow!

Shouldn't be too hard at all! I've got a few half finished wood textures that I didn't end up using for the pack so I can easily just adjust them to suit those two textures. I'll post them in this thread soon enough, probably in a reply to your post there so you get a notification. :)

Thanks mc, it's my favourite as well. I think a couple of the other textures still need a little adjustment (looking at you, acacia) but at least I've got all the code for the models done now so I can just edit the textures very easily!

Finally got the stairs and slabs done. Took a tonne of time to do the stairs just because of how many different ways they can be placed. Still, it's finished now so I'm pretty happy about that!

Now I'm going to go back and add stairs and slabs for the other blocks I have alternate textures for. I think it's the stone bricks, cobble, bricks and possibly normal sandstone? (not sure about that one)

I've just added some simple variant blocks so the wood grain changes a little bit and there are some more interesting little features that pop up from time to time. You can see in the pic that I've got some variants for all except the jungle planks currently (4th set of planks there).

They're pretty simple so you'll see the exact same texture on each side of the block but it's quite annoying to make each side of a block have a different randomised texture with the vanilla modeling system unfortunately...

Thanks a lot guys! Glad you like the pack that much. :)

Thanks b_vlletproof for the review too, it's very nicely done. I agree with what you said about my red sand, it's a bit too pink so I'll tweak the colours a bit I think!

If anyone is curious what I'm up to, I'm working on the polar bear from 1.10 and adding a couple more alternate textures for the plank textures. I'm also finally making it so the variants work on stairs and slabs too as they currently just use the base texture and have no alternates which makes roofs look pretty dull.

Currently going to have 3 textures for each type of plank, they're almost all complete now too (just working on the last plank type actually).

Is that a bone block or a birch block on the right there?

    They both look great though!

@Irish: I can't tell what's wrong with it from that report but I fixed a similar issue with mine by deleting folders inside the pack one at a time and testing it each time. It took a while but I eventually narrowed it down and found what was causing the issue. If you manage to narrow it down but are still unsure you can ask here and I'm sure we could help figure it out. :)

The Pixel Perfection V3.3's sky works and looks plenty fine, could you possible use that as a temporary fix?

Huh, is this with the 1.9 version of V3.3?

If so, I think it's time for some investigating! I didn't change much at all between those two versions in regards to the sky iirc...

In any case, thanks for mentioning that, should make it easier to find out what's wrong!

    EDIT: I fixed it!

Turns out you can only have the sky rotate one way. Having a negative number for the rotation just makes the sky not appear at all. Will be in the next update along with the new 1.10 mobs. :)

EDIT2: If you want to fix it for this version yourself, open up the .zip file, navigate to assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/sky/world0 and then open up the sky3.properties file with notepad or something. Simply remove the '-' next to the 'speed' value, save your changes and it will work fine.

Are you gonna update your pack with the 1.10 mobs soon? Can't wait to see how they look. :)

Yup! Working on the husk currently. I'll try get some pics up when they're done.

    Really digging the update!

    Cheers noodaa!

Can you add some more life into the night sky? right now there aren't even stars. Shooting stars would be great detail aswell. :)

Yea, there actually should be stars, I'm not sure why they're not appearing at all anymore. I fixed them up just one or two updates ago too... That said, I've actually also noticed a couple of other bugs with the last update. My alternate textures for planks stopped working as the model files for them disappeared so it's all a bit strange.

Not sure why they were gone but they're one thing that's already fixed for the next update and now ALL planks have alternates too. I'm looking into the sky now. :)

EDIT: Should mention, I have a feeling the sky issue is possibly optifine not supporting multiply sky layers at the moment which would mean there's not much I can do about it or I'd have to figure out some sort of fix which would look worse than it's supposed to work. Not much I can do about that unfortunately!

Apologies if this sounds like a dumb question but I how do I enable the better leaves texture.

I noticed the folder containing the texture(s) and model in the archive and really want to try it out.

Can't find an option within Optifine that seems to do the trick and if I try to move the files to where I would imagine they go, the following happens..

I'm probably missing something obvious here but a kick in the right direction would be appreciated. :)

Well it's actually stuff for the better leaves mod (separate from optifine) so if you'd want to use it you'd have to also download that mod. I do highly recommend it though, really sweet mod that adds a couple of other nice visual effects.

Unfortunately though the better leaves mod support in this pack is a little outdated currently, it's one of the things I'm working on fixing up right now alongside the addon packs I worked on. So it's going to be a bit dodgy until it's fixed up, sorry!

    Quote from Phoiyikas»

Around 8 hours, it's still not finished yet, I only build half of it though and then mirror it in MCedit. Otherwise I would be nuts.

    Cheers Sheep! thanks again.

No worries buddy, it looks really good so far. Make sure to post the finished version as well, I'd love to see it in all its glory! :D
