Well, due to the large ammount of awesome high res textures, it is time for some low res.
Shouldn't be too much longer until this is released, maybe only about a week and a half.
Accidentally left Eld Pack's mob spawner in.
Reaaaally not sure about that nether quartz... Doesn't look up to the same quality as the rest of the textures. Also, what MSchwaa said about the endstone, nice design and texture, I just don't think it will look too great tiled constantly in the end. Maybe use that design for the lapis block? I think that could be awesome.
I wish mojang would allow Eld to revamp their textures for them or something, considering he now works for them... I'm sure that would also lead to less people using texture packs though so on second thoughts...
EDIT: Below is derp, I skipped over the last couple of posts and they just mentioned what I mentioned down there.
I should really finish reading the thread before posting!
Btw, at the moment the hopper uses the exact same texture as the cauldron Hopefully that changes in the future though because that just seems incredibly lazy and ruins many unique ideas for cauldrons unless you want your hoppers to look really strange too.
Yea, having things fit into pots was a problem I had, I changed my flowers to make them work for them too. Quite the bummer!
Leaves were also a massive difficulty for me too, took me ages to get a style I liked...
Also, I can't believe I forgot to turn off CTM, I kinda derped in that respect (just checked it and your windows are gorgeous, I really love windows that aren't just borders)... I did check your pack without shaders too though and I liked it just as much. Blocks looked a bit richer and the darker feel made it a bit more medieval which is a theme I'm also very attracted to so no problems there!
I would retake the picture but the sun has moved to a different point in the sky on the save and I don't have the time to wait atm. Here is the save file for the world though, it should be facing the windmill, right next to my main base where I took the other screenie. Hope you take some nice pics with it!
Where are the textures for the hopper (not the WIP image)? Am I missing them somewhere or they hard coded in?
I couldn't find it either, but seeing as though it says WIP on the terrain.png, I would leave it till next snapshot to work on. I feel that it's going to change a bit from what it is right now and it would be pointless to work on it only to have it completely change next week.
You don't happen to know the average vein-sizes for quartz, do you?
Also, seeing this quartz puts me in a fuzzy position - my pack has amethyst (a purple type of quartz essentially) used for lapiz [also same texture used for emerald, recoloured].
I wanted the amethyst-lapis to be something a little...different...about my pack, but that's not so passable no, given that quartz is now legit.
what do?
I think it's around 6-8 on average, this is just from what I've seen in an overview video though, I haven't actually played myself. Like Taiine I just grabbed it to check where the textures were so I can add them to my pack.
Well, I tried to find things I didn't like but it was extremely hard... 99% of things I thought were a bit strange turned out to just be a placeholder from Sphax's pack so yea, there you go!
2 things I thought could be improved, namely the normal leaves and the flowers. I feel like flowers either need to have a more unique looking grassy background (as in, the parts of your textures for them that aren't actually flower, just longrass looking stuff) or just need to look more unique in general. Maybe try making the grassy bits a bit more curly? They just look a little generic at the moment.
As for the leaves, I feel like they're a too cramped together. Realistically, leaves do look like that, but in minecraft I feel like they look better with a tiny bit more space between the leaves to make the leaves actually stand out more. If they're too close together when you're far away they just look a bit muddled.
EDIT: I just noticed that the leaves are just a 32x texture tiled 4 times to make it 64x. If you didn't want to make larger gaps, just making it a native 64x texture would be fine because it would make it look a bit more randomized and overall, better.
Anyway, overall I was blown away, the pack you have so far is gorgeous with the shaders! Here are a couple of shots from my world:
I just replaced the CPU cooler today, and the PC booted up fine, but it was behaiving like it didn't have video drivers, so I restarted. Then it just turned on and off repeatedly, so now I have to figure out what's causing that.
From my experience, homebuilt computers are generally put together better than retail pre-built computers... Then again, the only pre-builts I have experience with are from dell so I can't really say much about it!
Hope everything gets fixed without too much hassle on your computer too, they can be rather finicky if something goes wrong. If your computer is acting like there aren't any drivers, it might be possible that some cpu coolant got in one of the pci-e lanes...
On the plus side, the new things being added for the next update might have more finalised designs for next week so you have something proper to base your textures on!
I still have to make a new obsidian, sandstone, netherrack and a completely new lava animation before I'll be happy... Basically this is an overhaul to make my pack more... I dunno the term (well, I just forgot it as I was about to type it) but I want everything to look like it belongs together. I've also been making sure I use colours and materials that were already used before which is why my iron door shares the same metal as on my iron bars and little things like that. I also made sure my wood things shared common colours too so I had to change some wood things as well.
C&C on any of the textures would be appreciated and yes, I realise how inconsistent my iron is (pinkish coppery metal and black iron, it was a stylistic choice and they still go well together)
Also update is gonna be after I do the obsidian, diamond and gold ore blocks. I have the obsidian pretty much finished now and I have a good idea for the gold block. Any suggestions for the diamond? Oh, I've also done a few of the textures from the latest snapshot too so that will be there in the update so it can be used with the snapshot!
(about new snapshot) I've been looking at the Nether Quartz and thinking... that would be cool looking in a geode form.
Sheep, that's looking really sharp! Really diggin the emerald block. Might I suggest a hint of red/purple in the obsidian in some of the highlights.
The obsidian-ish block is actually bedrock there, I made an obsidian but I'm not a fan of it. It does have really nice colours though so I'll be taking them across to the new obsidian when I figure out a nice design! Also, it has purple.

EDIT: have you guys checked out all the things they've added in the snapshot? This is gonna be a rather large update to texture methinks... Really cool stuff though!
Small avatars like mine upscale to a certain minimum size which makes it looks blurry and terrible, the main section where you select which thread to click on looks rather clunky compared to the current version - the icons to the left are very bland and the thread titles only seem to spread across half the available space which clutters things up. Also the plain white background makes it kinda fatiguing to look at.
Titles across half available space:
On the plus side, I like the new location for quoting, replying, etc. and the new editing looks really nice and well thought out.

Isn't chirp the same name as one of imnumberfour's packs? I dunno, the name feels incredibly familiar, I'm sure I saw it being used on a pack already.
Actually just googled it, couldn't find anything so go ahead, I guess! Looks good too.

Just tested and yes they do.
WIP image on the terrain.png is only for showing the object in the inventory.

Looks good, faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better than the ugly mess that is the default quartz!
I agree with 13th though, because of the single chunk style, CTM would be nice to prevent it looking too repetitive and weird.

I would have at least a few dollars.
