Hey man, I was hopping around getting resource packs and the like and I wanted to stop by and thank you for your hard work on this pack. I've used this resource pack for many years. It's graced all of my computers, carried me through countless immersive modded and vanilla games, and is in general my favorite pack I've ever used. Your work is fantastic my friend. It is the fine wine to my Minecraft cheese. Thanks for all the hard work!
Thanks for stopping by! I always love hearing that you guys still enjoy the pack. Really keeps my motivation up!
"Might not sound like the most exciting progress" ..I'd beg to differ, I'm loving all these changes, spruce especially! Just wanted to check and see if you were still working on my favorite resource pack, thanks for checking in with us, and all this hard work you're putting into the pack!
No worries! Glad you're liking the look of how things are going. Usually people like to see new textures but I think it's worthwhile to keep the older parts of the pack updated as my skills improve too.
Hey Sheep! Hate asking this, I'm sure you're a busy guy, but do you got any updates for us? I'm mighty curious about any progress being made
I'm actually currently working through almost every texture in my pack to update the palette and also fixing up a few old textures. Pics below show a lil example for some textures (I've gone over every stone texture in the game, every wood texture, all nether textures and a few misc textures too currently).
Might not sound like the most exciting progress but honestly it's made a huge difference to the pack! As for new stuff for the aquatic update, I've worked a bit on some of the textures such as the turtles and sea grass but neither are finished just yet. Also done some older textures such as the new trapdoors for all wood types, etc. Kinda shifted my focus onto finishing up these consistency and colour changes for the time being though.
I'm doubtful that I will, sorry! There was a huge change in the naming scheme for models, blocks, etc. - pretty much all the elements in a resource pack.
I've updated all my stuff to the 1.13 format and it will likely take me till 1.13 is fully released till I've updated old textures to fit my standards/have enough content for a proper update anyway.
Hey everyone, just wanted to pop in and mention I'm still making progress!
Currently updating a few old textures - want to get the pack at a really consistent level for the next update. I'm also working on some of the underwater stuff (kelp and tall sea grass). Depending on how the animation goes for them I may implement an animation for the tall grass to indicate wind or something.
Anyway, here are a couple of pictures. Updated dirt/sand and all the parrot textures (you can scroll up to the previous post to see the change in the sand, looks a lot less messy now). Next thing I'll show will be some underwater stuff so likely a little gif of underwater plants moving around or the drowner mob perhaps.
Nothing tremendously exciting just yet! I've fixed all the issues I can easily find with the pack but I guess they aren't visible changes as the textures look the same as previously.
Had a very busy week with my two uni projects and some other work so I haven't had as much time to work on the pack as I'd like but I'm still chugging along (albeit slowly).
Here's a pic of new rose bushes, some beds and some fiddling around with the dirt texture. I'm going to change it up for the next update but haven't come up with a style I'm 100% happy with yet. I've done another one of the parrot textures too but that's probably less exciting than completely unseen stuff so I'll just wait and take a photo when they're all completed.
Parrots! They'll be the first new mob I complete, after that I'll work on another one of the new evil mobs (either the drowned or one of the evil villagers that lives in the woodland mansion). Currently only completed the green parrot but now that I've got a style down the others won't take too long. I'll take a nice photo of the lot of them once they're completed.
There are also a few new textures in the picture for the cobble walls, prismarine bricks and red nether bricks as I wasn't happy with any of them. There are a few more textures I've remade and some new ones I've completed but I'll save them for a later picture.
Cheers muscar, I've already all items and textures though, just fixing up the last of the model files since they're not something I can easily fix with a script (unfortunately!)
They're all about 90% done now though, no more errors with them, just some renaming to get all my alternate textures working. Then I'll have some new stuff to show off.
Thanks guys! Hopefully I'll have something to show soon, just been adding all the missing textures and renaming all items and block textures/fixing models.
First off, thanks for all the support and everything you've showed to the pack. Lots of posts/messages here and on PMC checking up on me and the pack and although I just want you to know that they were hugely appreciated!
I know I've been silent for a long time but I haven't forgotten about minecraft or the pack, just had an exceptionally busy time with uni (now in my last year), some other (music related) side projects, some personal stuff and changing jobs. I have to admit I also did lose interest in minecraft which did definitely put me off from working on textures for a while.
Since I've taken this break though I've been delving back into texturing work and I'm currently working on getting the pack updated to the latest version. There are still several textures, ui changes, renaming and model fixes I'll need to complete so it's possible that I may just push the update back to when 1.13 releases (ideally with all the aquatic stuff completed, ready to go for it though) but I'm still undecided since it's been so long from the previous update and I understand there are some broken textures currently.
I'll be posting some pictures of new stuff soon so stay tuned to see how new textures or coming along so you can give feedback or just check out what's coming up for the next update.
Once again, huge thanks to all of you. You keep minecraft texturing exciting and I likely wouldn't still be here without all of your support!
The thing is, at the moment I'm not sure how much use a rather blank concrete block would actually have in the pack. Between the wool, the stained clay (which in this pack more closely match the wool than they do in vanilla) and then the concrete powder which I'm also making have a somewhat smoother texture, I feel like there are enough smooth/colourful blocks to build with.
As such I think I will add a unique design to each of the concrete blocks to provide more variety when building which is always a good thing imo!
I'm not sure if I'm going to do each block as a wood/plaster style block, I do want to make a few different building styles more accessible with the blocks, just have to figure out exactly what designs I should do for each!
I think I'm going to be taking a look at some of the blocks from the conquest resource pack for inspiration here because monsterfish has made a bunch of different blocks in different colours that are useful for building. I'll also try and implement a bit of ctm to enhance the blocks further too.
My terracotta blocks are going to be a bit more similar to vanilla except I'll try and make their textures more representative of their specific colours (so black will be 90% black instead of half black and red in vanilla, etc.). I also want the patterns to be a bit more subtle so that they can be used in more situations without looking quite so jarring next to other blocks.
That is really neat! I've never thought about it for enchanted books but it's a great idea and I definitely will look into it, see how many textures, etc. I'd need to make for it.
I've actually done this with arrows so that 3 or more (from what I remember) are made into a little quiver with the arrows in it. This was done ages ago with CIT from mcpatcher and I don't honestly know if it still works so I'll see if I can get it working this way and maybe add in a few more common stacked items too.
Ah, you know what, I might've actually forgotten to do that! The shulker boxes themselves are done but I must've totally forgotten about the gui side of things. I'll have it in the next update for sure, thanks for mentioning it!
Heya sheep, glad to see that you're still at it. I've gotten back into MC recently, and I've started working on BoP and Witchery textures for this pack again. I've gotten a fair bit done, although the naming conventions use the 1.7.10 scheme (since that's the version I play on), so if you end up wanting to use them for the main pack, you might have to do some renaming.
That said, I'll post some screenshots of what I've made so far when I get home from work. Hopefully by next weekend I'll have a download link with a fair amount of textures for you.
Heya feathers! Nice to see you round again!
That sounds great to me, I've just recently been trying to compile all the mod stuff in one place to release as a grouped download so having more BoP and Witchery stuff will be fantastic.
XSSheep, this has turned into my go to texture pack for quite some time now, it's amazing. You made me appreciate 16x again. Thank you for all your hard work over the years. Hope to see you and this texture pack for many more!
Well still no plans for stopping anytime soon so hopefully minecraft keeps getting interesting textures added to it for me to work on!
Ahhh okay! If you check the paintings I actually have one painting that you can put over walls to create this effect. It's a 2x2 painting (shown in the bottom right of this picture:
Now that we have all these concrete and terracotta blocks I might make a few blocks that do this instead though. Could have a few colours of them and slightly different styles which would imo look really cool!
Could you for example add a half-timbered block with the upcoming 1.12 blocks (includes some nice connected textures). I think many players would like that for building. I really wish such a block in my favorite resource pack
What do you mean by half timbered exactly? A mix of stone and timber or something?
Small avatars like mine upscale to a certain minimum size which makes it looks blurry and terrible, the main section where you select which thread to click on looks rather clunky compared to the current version - the icons to the left are very bland and the thread titles only seem to spread across half the available space which clutters things up. Also the plain white background makes it kinda fatiguing to look at.
Titles across half available space:
On the plus side, I like the new location for quoting, replying, etc. and the new editing looks really nice and well thought out.
